So I have been on sprintic for a year I stoped taking them to have another baby after I had him I started taking it again well its been a full year 6 hours after I take the last blue pill when I was in the bathroom a white clump of stringy stuff come out and I noticed some light bleeding what could this be? ## It is very hard to fathom a guess from just the limited information in your post. However, both breakthrough bleeding and discharge can be normal when you're taking hormonal contraceptives and when you aren't taking them. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, so they can help you determine if there is a problem.

I have never missed a pill, however I don't always take the pill at the same exact hour, sometimes 1-5 hour difference. My boy friend and I are very active. And I started spotting yesterday but it is way too early for my period, I just had my period about 2 weeks ago. Should I take a pregnancy test, and when should I take it to be accurate? ## If there has only been a few hour difference, then you should be fine and shouldn't have to worry about pregnancy risk. The is only a worry if you actually miss tablets and take them more than 24 hours late, or not at all. But, the time fluctuation could upset your hormone levels enough to cause the breakthrough bleeding. Can I skip my period and take the placebo pills one week later? As in when I'm supposed to take the placebo pills I take the next months hormonal pills then after one week I take the placebo pills then continue on the hormonal. ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? I have been taking Sprintec for about 5 years and I have never had this happen until now. On the second Monday of my pack, I completely forgot to take my pill, I discovered this on that Tuesday when I already found out that I was late for Tuesday too. So I took both pills for Monday and Tuesday, both were late. On an unwise decision, I had intercourse on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday morning I saw blood on my underwear. I immediately panicked thinking it was "spotting" that occurs when one is pregnant. I tried calling my OB's office asking about what I should do and if I should take a pregnancy test and the nurse said that it was too soon to be able to tell if I were. I started Lo Loestrin Fe at the beginning of December. Up until about 2 days ago, I took my pills every day at the right times. I had sex while on this, but my boyfriend never ejaculated inside me. Two days ago, I forgot to take my pill and took it the next day at the time I normally would along with that day's pill. Today, I noticed that I have very dark brown, mushy-like discharge. I haven't had sex in nearly a week and half and it's virtually impossible that I'm pregnant because I took my pills every day at the right time while I was having sex. Could this just be my body reacting to missing the pill, i.e. dried blood? Could it be an infection? Does this require a call to the gyno? Thanks for the help.

I am 22 years old and on my second pack of Loestrin (week 2). I've never missed a period on any birth control, including the IUD Mirena... I always have very regular 7 day heavy periods, so you would think I'd be happy about not having one now. NOT the case. I am now 11 days late on my period. (First day of last period was 11/25/13). So... I was going on a cruise and according to my birth control, I was going to be on my period, so, I purposely took the placebos before the cruise in order to get my period, then while on the cruise I would be on the pill. While on the cruise I had intercourse, and now (4 weeks later) I am spotting brown very sporadically. Is this normal because I messed up my pills? I got Jadelle on 11/07/2013 . I was fine from July up until the start of September when I started getting chest pains regularly and twice they were so severe so much that I couldn't even move. On the 19th of this month my boyfriend and I had intercourse. At first he didn't use a condom, then I made him put one on. I started sprintec a week ago, I've never taken bc before. I took the first blue pill in the pack before I got my period, my doc said to take the Sunday after my period but I didn't wait, I started taking it when I bought them, now im late and I just had a single spot of blood in my undies. Is this normal for a person to miss a period and when do I take the white pills? Last month I got inserted levonorgestrel Mirena to resolve the prolonged bleeding issue ( last 2 years) and still with bleeding problem. Bleeding continues for 11 days. Loette is suggested for three months. to reduce the bleeding Pause MF given but the bleeding issue not yet resolved. Please suggest. ## Hello, Kavitha! How are you doing? Unfortunately, the Mirena IUD doesn't resolve bleeding issues for everyone that tries it, as a matter of fact, it can cause irregular or prolonged bleeding in some women. So yes, you may be better of with oral contraceptive tablets, since they usually contain both estrogens and progesterone and can better balance your hormones. Is there anything else I can help with?

ok so im supposed to start the placebo week on the 9th thru the 16th. problem is i leave for vacation on the 15th. my period always starts 3days after starting the placebo week and last for 7days max. which puts me on my period while on vacation... :( should i start the placebo week early ( tomorrow) aug 2nd thru the 9th which would have me starting on the 5th thru the 11th. and just start a new pack on the 9th like normal? or should i just skip the placebo week and start a new pack to skip my period? will this work? ive never done this before and i def do not want to be on my period at all while on vacation... How are you doing? There's a good chance that the shot is causing your irregular periods and adding the hormonal contraceptive on top of it might just make things even worse. They are very tiny and do dissolve very fast. Had the implants for 2 years now. The first 6 mths bleeding was frequent every two weeks then has slowly become lighter until 4 mths ago they stopped all together. Awesome ! Or so I thought but just done a pregnancy test - positive ! Not so awesome .... What are the side effects for baby with the rods? I will get them removed ASAP but info please....
