I started taking lo loestrin for the first time a few days before my period on jan 2 2014. I was still getting use to the Times i would take them so i took them at different times on some days I had intercourse on that same day not protected. I then had breakthrough bleeding within 6days after taking the pill, and stopped the pill immediatly on jan 8 2014 due to really painful cramps. The break through bleeding stopped on jan 13 2014. I was wondering how long would it take my cycle to start after only taking this birth control for a week? Is It possible I could get pregnant for stopping the pill after a short ammount of time or not being consistant with it time wise? Help. :( I'm now two weeks late. ## Hello, Janine! How are you? Yes, there's a chance you could be pregnant. In o...

Hi there! I missed my last brown iron pill for my pack and without reading directions which stated to skip the pill if missed, I took the pill this morning. I am needing to start my new pack tonight but am not sure if it is bad to take both iron and blue pill in the same day? Any info I could have would be great!! ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? No, those are just inactive tablets that contain iron, so there should be no problem, but you should likely double check with your doctor to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I need to skip a period next month to go on vacation.....can this work? ## Absolutely! I take them continuously and skip the white ones completely. No periods. It's great! My MD says there's no reason we need to have a period at all, so have at it! ## This is correct, it will not harm you at all, though it is recommended that you let your body complete a normal period cycle at least occasionally. I do it regularly, especially when traveling or facing a special occasion. There are even pill packs available now that you take for several months straight without having a period. Do you have any other questions? ## My boyfriend is coming back from college and he is only going to be in town for the weekend. I started my white pills this past Sunday but want to be done with my period b...

This is my first time ever using birth control and I accidentally took the Saturday blue pill instead of the Sunday blue pill on the same line is this a problem what should I do? Are the hormones levels in all the blue pills the same? ## Hello, Genesis! How are you? Yes, those are all the same, so it actually doesn't matter what day you take which tablet. :-) There's nothing to worry about. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What if I accidentally took two blue pills by mistake? ## What happens if I accidentally take two blue pills? Do I keep going or skip the next day?

I have Been on tri-sprintec for about three weeks and I havent had a period yet. Should I be worried? I also havE been spotting for about 4 days now I have taken two pregnancy test abd they have both been negative should I be worried? Or is it just my body adjusting to the pill? ## Hello, Blakney! How are you? You shouldn't get your period, until the last week of pills, which don't have active hormones in them. And yes, spotting could be due to your body adjusting to them, but you should consult you doctor to be certain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I took amoxicillin for two weeks and took 3 500 mg pills a day. I never miss a birth control pill as well and try to tske it at the same time everyday or around it. A week after I was done with the antibiotics I got a really heavy bad period I haven't gotten one of those in months and it lasted 8 or 9 days. Then a week break and now been spotting or having a mini period for a week now. Is this all messed up from the antibiotics ? I haven't had intercourse in months and been checked recently from the Gyno ## Hello, Ric! How are you? Sorry about the problem you're having. And yes, it most likely is from the antibiotic, though only your doctor can tell you for sure. But many of them are known to lower the amount of estrogen that you absorb from hormonal contraceptives, such as ...

I have been using Nur Isetrate for 8 months and then recently I starting using Ovral for almost two weeks now, I would like to know how long before I'm properly protected by Ovral ## Hello, Mims! How are you? For switching to the Ovral tablets, if you started them while on your period, you would be immediately protected against pregnancy, since they will prevent ovulation this month. However, if you started them at any other time, then you have to take them for one week. Please note that no birth control method, including these, are 100% foolproof. Is there anything else I can help with?

hi. i had my menstruation on january 1 and it ended january 5. i had intercourse 2 days after but it was protected. then I decided to take nordette 21 4 days after. i was not on my period and it said to take the first pill on the first day of period but i took it anyway. will this still be effective? ## Will nordette 21 be still effective even you started taking it not on the first day of your period (but within the scope of 72hrs after intercourse)? Like in my case, i had intercourse 8 days after the last day of my period an took the first pill 9 days after my last of period. As per Nordette instruction it should be taken on your 1st day of period. But i was so focused on taking it within the scope of 72hrs so i miss the instruction that it should be taken on the 1st day of period. Ple...

Hi I've been experiencing delayed periods while on Oralcon. My period is very regular but since November it's been delayed for a month. I got my period in December and now it's late again. I've been taking my pills on time and using condoms to be safe. I've been experiencing swollen breasts and they are very sensitive. I've been getting migraines usually a sign in due for my period. I'm very worried. Please help ## Late or skipped periods can be a side effect or hormonal contraceptives and usually aren't anything to worry about. However, since you are concerned, you should contact your doctor so they can check things out for you. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have use jadelle for yen years. I am on the third one which will end 2018. Ager fixing the third one, I have been bleeding since fix the jadelle in August last year. I visited my family planning center and was given some pill. The bleeding stopped and it came back in some few day. They change the medicine for me and that one too didn't work so i was ask to go for scan and nothing show. I am yet to the gynacologist. What should I do. ## It is actually very common to have this happen, while using Jadelle. There may have been a fluctuation in your natural hormones, so the addition of the ones in it could be too much for your body and you may have to have it removed. Have you consulted your gynecologist, yet? That would be the best thing to do.

I have been on this birth control for six months. I stopped taking them a few weeks ago simply because i misplaced my new pack. Anyway, it has been about 3 weeks and no period. I had a drop or two on a tampon a week ago but that was it and i have had pretty painful cramps since stopping them as well. I have negative pregnancy tests and i havent had intercourse with my husband since a couple of days after stopping the pill. Obviously at this point if i were pregnant, a test would show positive by now. Before i start taking these pills again, does the lack of period mean i will have trouble conceiving when my husband and i decide to? Im concerned. This is the first birth control i have taken that didnt trigger a period after stopping. I got pregnant with my son two weeks after stopping se...

My dr prescribed me Tri Sprintec to regulate my periods... I have PCOS. I used to take Ortho Evra but havent for a couple of months. Because i haven't been on out my period is irregular again. Two months ago i had it a week apart, then didn't get it for a month and a half. I'm trying to figure out when to take fhe pill, as I'm not sure if I'll get my period at all in the next month... Can i start this Sunday? What will happen if I do this? Also, are all the ingredients in week 1,2, &3 the same? Because i want to make sure i do this perfectly. ## No, this one has different amounts of hormones in each week, so they do need to be taken in order. However, you can start at any time, you just need to know that you will not be immediately protected against pregnancy. Yo...

I am using the oralcon teplets and I am now on the forth red pill and still I am not on my piriods culd I be pregnent? ## If you've been engaging in intercourse, there is always a small risk of getting pregnant, regardless of what contraceptive method you use. However, there is a bigger chance that you're just late or skipping your period due to the hormones. Have you consulted your doctor? ## No I have not consalt the doctor yet but I am planning to get a pregnency test so I can see if I am pregnent or not! So if I am not pregnent do I continue taking the white pill evin if I dint go to my piriods?

Hello all. I am finishing my fourth pack of my lo loestrin fe and for some reason, I have not been taking the brown pill each pack because I figured I didn't need to. I have only had spotting that lasted four days, but I have not had a full period for the time I have taken lo loestrin fe. Is this okay to do? Should I call my doctor? ## There are no active hormones in the brown pills, so they don't have to be taken. And many women have very light periods, or none at all, while taking this contraceptive, but you should double check things with your doctor just to be safe. Is there anything else I can help with?

I missed monday and tuesday on week 2 of my sprintec, I have missed before and continued with no complications but I started bleeding heavily today I think due to missing the two pills. Should I continue taking them? ## Hello, Dani! How are you? Yes, you should continue them, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. But it can happen due to missing tablets and you should find some way to remind yourself to take them in the future, to prevent the problems associated with missing them, including possible pregnancy. Are there any other questions or concerns?

So I started lo loestrin fe August 4, 2013. I got my period during the second week of blue pills and have ever since then. Is this normal? The periods have been short and incredible helpful for menstrual pain(mine was very bad, this is why I started the pill). However I'm starting to get nervous about it. Is it normal that my period comes the second week? I get no period, no spotting, no anything during my placebo week only the second week of active pills. Is the pill effective? My boyfriend and I are careful but often have unprotected sex. Should I be worried?
