I finished my period on 23 november and started with the white pill but on 4 december I started getting pains around my waist (period pains) and later I started to bleed so I decided to just take the red pill. Now I'm bleeding a lot should I continue with the red pill or should I start the white pill on a new packet. Please help angie ## Hello, Angie! How are you doing? If you are bleeding a lot, then you need to consult your doctor to have things checked out. Your natural hormone levels can change with time, so this contraceptive may no longer work well for you and you may need to try a different one.
I recently had intercourse 9 days ago while on the pill. I started spotting on my 3rd day of the white pill, this is my first time taking birth control and I have not had my period yet. Does this mean I am pregnant? Or should I not be worried? ## Did you start taking it the first day of your period, or later in your cycle? If you started it the first day of your period, then it should have prevented ovulation this month, so there isn't a very good chance that you're pregnant, though there is still a slight one. However, if you started it at any other time during your cycle, then it would have taken 7 days for them to become effective in your body to prevent pregnancy.
I have had the Jadelle implant for around 2.5 years and have only ever got the occasional very light period. Recently i went on doxycycline for my skin and all of a sudden i have had 3 periods within 6 weeks lasting 3-4 days each. Is this related? Nothing else with me seems to have changed and this is just annoying ## Hello, Simmy! How are you? Yes, it probably is due to adding the Doxycycline, though you should check with your doctor to be sure. Since this is a single hormone contraceptive that uses a synthetic form of Progesterone, it tends to be a bit unpredictable. Are there any other questions or concerns?
Hi I have been on sprintec for about 7 months now. Last month I forgot two blue pills and two white pills but used another form of protection. Then when I went to go get my new pack the doctor hadn't ordered it in yet and I had to wait three days before started my new pack. Now I am at the end of this pack and my second day of white pills and no period. Should I be worried? ## Hell, Ananda! How are you? There is always some risk of getting pregnant if you are actively engaging in intercourse, regardless of what contraceptive method you used. If you had to wait 3 days before being able to start your new pack and didn't take them for a full 7 days, before having intercourse, then there was an increased risk, because ovulation could have occurred. However, only being 2 days late is...
I am 26 married , have PCOD problem i am having krimson 35 since 4 days .Will it work as contraceptive pills as well ? And i am suffering from sever acidity and gastric can it be a side effect of Krimson 35 ?If so what medicine shall i use along with it .Thanks
UpdatedI just start taking the pill. I'm new to all of this. Start taking the pill on my first Sunday after my period but on the 7th day, WOW! I'm bleeding like a regular period. Is this normal to bleed so soon after starring taking loestrin lo? Please explain, what I supposed to except for now on! ## Hello, Betsymia! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. First, you should have started the first day of your period, rather than afterwards. If you start it the first day, then you are immediately protected from pregnancy, since it will prevent ovulation. However, starting it later means that you have to take it for at east 7 days, without missing any pills, before it will be effective at preventing pregnancy. And yes, it is a hormonal contraceptive, so breakthrough ...
I've been on Lo Lostrin for about 5 months. I take the pill at the same time everyday. I've been heavily bleeding for 3 days now. I called my Gyno & she never called back. I don't use any other protectionbesides this. Im having bad cramps in my lower back and stomach and also in my lower area. Should i be concerned? Need help, fast. ## Hello, Kayla! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. This is a hormonal contraceptive, so it can cause some unexpected breakthrough bleeding, though it is unusual for it to be happening this many months along. Has your doctor returned your call, yet? One option they may have you try is stopping it for a few days, to see if the bleeding slows and stops, but that would also mean you'd have to use some other for...
I am a 33yr old female with 4 kids and I had my mirena put in just over 3 months ago cause of real heavy 2 week bleeding and clots during my period. I must admit it has stopped the clots n heavy bleeding but I have a brown blood discharge everyday, but my main reason in asking what I should do is, since having it inserted I have big mood swings, constant headaches ( not bad just always there) I wee a LOT more and have more urgency when I need to wee, I get woken up from sleeping (I'm sleeping so much lately) because my kidneys are killing me and even though I don't feel the need to wee at that time, the pain don't go away till I go to the toilet, my back is aching more and more, my scalp is so dry n itchy (when I scratch it flakes of dry skin go everywhere) My libido WAS ver...
I had one pill left in my pack of tri-sprintec that I took on Sunday but when I picked my new pack up on Monday they switched me to tri-previfem. Is it ok to take evn though I took a different brand Sunday? ## Yes, they are exactly the same, the Tri=Previfem is just a generic for the Tri-Sprintec. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. If you check the ingredient labels, you should see that they are identical in the amounts. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Hi Max, Because both brands contain the same active ingredients, in my opinion it should be just fine to take the other set of pills. When you switch brand names or manufacturers the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. However I do want to mention that certain ...
I've been taking Lo loestrin fe 1-10 for 4 months. I've stopped having my period this past month. I've missed a lot of pills.. any chance I could be pregnant? I took a diagnosis but it was negative... what do I do????? ## Hello, Tina! How are you? How late is your period? Yes, if you missed a lot of pills, then there is a chance you could be pregnant and it may be too soon for an at home test to be accurate. Have you consulted your doctor? You need to do so, that way they can do a clinical test for pregnancy and they can help you find a method that you can use more reliably, perhaps an IUD or the contraceptive shots. ## I haven't been getting my period b/c of the pill so I don't no this Sunday I started a new pack of pill and only took one I did call the doctor today...
I am on Sprintec birth control, and I am always bad with taking my pills, and this month I have tried to given myself my period early and I have not had my period. I have had no intercourse/oral and I had to take a pregnancy test last month and it showed up negative and I had a period last month that was slightly worse then my others. I have also had weird things happen like cramps in the morning, and back pain, but I think my back pain is from me getting off my bunk bed is a weird way. Idk if this is influenced by it, or if these random things, THANK YOU. ## Hello, Betsy! How are you doing? How did you try to give yourself your period early? These are hormonal contraceptives, so they can cause some oddities to your cycle. Have you consulted your doctor about it? ## Instead of waiting f...

I don't want to get pregnant so soon, as i just got married 4 months back... pls reply me soon... what should i do now....? ## When you first start birth control tablets, it is normal to sometimes have irregular menstrual cycles. It is, however, also possible, though not highly likely that...
small round lite blue pill with 05 one one side and nothing on the otherside ## I haven't been able to find a listing for this in the databases that I checked. How small is it? Is it the size of an Asprin? larger or smaller? I'm wondering if it may be a tablet from a package of oral contraceptives. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. ## it is a lot smaller than a asprin ## It's Clarinex, an allergy pill. My son was prescribed it when he was 10... that was in 07. I have the bottle and can take a picture of the pill if you need.
2years continue tretment many doctor bat i am not pregnent.now i tret a new doctor and he prescrib me krimson35 and i con 3mounth a pill, but every mounth is period come so i am not a pragnent.now what can i do? i want baby, pleas help me. ## Hello, Jiya! How are you? You're not going to get pregnant, while you're taking the Krimson 35, it is a contraceptive that prevents pregnancy. For PCOS, it's used to suppress ovulation for awhile, in order to help balance the hormones in your body, so you can get pregnant later, after you stop taking it. Are there any other questions or concerns?
I have been on nustrate for 7 years now, i dont want to stop yet because im scared that i myt get pregnant and im not ready for a second baby. Will this long term usage have an effect on me once i decide to get pregnant? The only problem i have experienced is that i go on my periods for three weeks but its not heavy bleeding... Plz help ## Hello, Maslow! How are you doing? Have you consulted your doctor? There should be a regular contraceptive that you can take that won't cause you to bleed for 3 weeks of the month, but still prevent pregnancy and it would be much better to use one of them. ## Hi... I havent really thought of that, bt will definatly go c the doctor... Thanx
My pharmacy recently switched my generic for Aviane , Lutera to Falmina. I work at an OBGYN and know that it sometimes causes problems when they switch it up on you. I wasnt really having problems with the Lutera, i mean i didnt have awesome acne control with it but it wasnt horrible. Well i was switched to this Falmina and have read 4 reviews on WebMd that are horrible! Belly pain, chest pain, migraines and weight gain? I was on Yasmin before which was amazing and cleared my skin right up but i gained 30 pounds on it. Im worried about gaining weight on this one! Has anyone tried this and done well with it? I know everyone is different but its always nice to have input! ## Hello, Tennisgirl! How are you? While your pharmacy can switch which generic they give you, the dosage should be th...
Well, I was on this pill since May 1st, 2013 (had only 2 periods) and stopped taking it November 9th cause we are trying to have a baby. Actually we were planning to have our baby by the next summer (late August or September). Reading all these things about Lo loestrin fe made me so sad and disappointed, should we really wait more months to become pregnant? Is there any exceptions among you? Please if you have any hopeful comment, I would highly appreciate it! ## Hello, Nikky! How are you? Generally, when stopping an oral contraceptive, such as this, that suppresses ovulation, it can take 2 or 3 months, before your body rebalances your hormones naturally and you actually ovulate, again. It may happen sooner, but there's no way to know for sure, it can vary from woman to woman. Have ...
I had taken Loestrin Fe 24 for about two years without a period and about six months ago switched to Lo Loestrin. I still do not have a period. However, I generally have period-like symptoms every month during the placebo pills. This month though I have had severe breast pain and daily cramps starting at the placebos and continuing two weeks into my pack and today I noticed a brown/bloody discharge and more severe cramps. This is very strange to me as the pain has been more severe and I never experience spotting or anything. I had planned on calling my gyno today before I realized the discharge and am still planning on calling because I have never had an actual exam and have some anxiety about never having a period anyways. Any idea what this could be or has this happened to anyone else...

In 2010 I suffered a heart attack due to a blood clot from my oral contraceptive Trivora. I'm wanting to see if anyone had similar problem. ## Hello, Angel! How are you doing? Very sorry about the heart attack, that's awful. I don't know about this particular contraceptive, but I can tell that it is a risk associated with all hormonal contraceptives and no, you are not the only one that suffered such a horrible side effect. The possibility is warned about in the medication information and the risk is greater for women over 35 and for smokers. It is one of the reasons many doctors will not prescribe them for women over 35, except for in very rare emergency cases….and women that smoke more than 10 cigarettes a day that are over 35 really should completely avoid them and ...
