Could I start before my cylce or is it better to wait till the first day ?? ## Hello, Annie! How are you? There is no hard and fast rule, but what you need to know is that if you start it on the first or second day of your period, then you will be immediately protected against pregnancy. However, if you start it at any day later in your cycle, you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it becomes effective, so you will have to use some other form of contraception, until the 8th day of taking them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on nuristerate contraceptive injection for 6 months (3 injection) . ever since the first injection I have not stopped going for my period and spotting immediately commences till my next period. I had my fourth injection today while on the fourth day of my period. I was wondering if this is normal and wat could be the possible causes of this problem . I am realy depressed and tierd of wearing pads and pantyliners for this long . Please advice yours depressed

My period is very regular starts 28 days apart like clockwork. Have a big romantic trip and want it to not start on my trip. So Dr. gave me Lo Loestrin Fe 26 pill pack samples to try. My trip is Nov 11-18 with my period to start on the 15th. My next period is due to start Sept 20. How and when should I take the pills. There is no risk of pregnancy... tubes tied ## You should just be able to skip the last four pills and start a new pack. This should prevent you from having a period that month. I just started my 2nd pack of sprintec and I have been bleeding for over 10wks. I had an IUD removed prior to starting OCs. After several visits to the Dr they finally found I was bleeding due to the IUD causing me to have no lining on my uterus. The Dr said for me to take 3/day for 4 days then 2/day and so on until I start my period again. Is this normal?! ## Hello, Candy! How are you? I have never heard of them being taken this way, but it would be best to follow your doctor's instructions, since they are specially trained to help with such issues. They may just be trying to boost your hormone levels to stabilize your uterine lining to stop the bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with?

Got period on Monday. Went to OBGYN to start BC...Thursday. Insert says to start on the first day of period, but can I start taking it today? Should I start on Sunday? Should I wait until my next period? ## You can actually start it at any time, but if it is later than the 2nd day of your period, you'll need to wait a full 7 days for it to become effective at preventing pregnancy, which means no unprotected intercourse until the 8th day. If you start it the first or second day of your period, it will become immediately effective and no additional protection is needed. Is there anything else I can help with?

OK I never taking birth control before and now my Dr gave me tri-sprintec and i never a my period in August and I started takening the pill Wednesday 27'and started my period on the 30 how long will I be on my period and is it normal to start on week 1??? ## I can't say for sure how long you will be on your period, it can be irregular for the first 3 months or so, while your body is adjusting to this medication, which means yes, it can also be normal to start at an odd time during the month. You will also not be protected from pregnancy, until you have taken it for a full 7 days. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I was confused about what day of the week is was and skipped one of the blue pills in week four. I didn't notice I skipped a pill until it was my usual pill-taking time on Thursday and realized I was taking Wednesday's pill, which was the first of the two active white ones before the inert brown ones. Do I need to take two pills one day to make it up, or should I just continue like usual and ignore it? I got my tonsils out last tuesday (I live in Spain) and the doctor prescribed Paracetamol 1gm and Nolotil (Metamizole) 575mg to be taken ever 8 hours on alternating 8 hours. I have been taking Yasmin for a few years now with no problems. But, starting 2 days ago I noticed some spotting, today I put in a tampon to make sure of where the blood was coming from and it seems to be now a little more than spotting. How are you? Some women don't have periods while on the Jadelle implant. Have you had yourself checked for pregnancy? It's very doubtful that you are, you're most likely just skipping due to the hormone in the Jadelle.

I have been taking this pills since May and I never threw up till two weeks ago. I started throwing up yellow stuff I have been very moody I have been having real bad headaches dizziness at times. If so, that could be what's causing the vomiting, the yellow stuff is likely just bile or a coloring agent in the pills. The other symptoms can be normal side effects of taking it, since it is a hormonal contraceptive. If they are that problematic you may need to speak to your doctor about trying a different one. I've been on Sprintec for 3 months, but I stopped taking them due to hair loss! Anyways, June was my last month on them. It's July & I haven't gotten my period. I'm irregular by the way. Does Sprintec mess up periods after not taking them anymore? ## Hello, Kristy! How are you? Usually, when you take an OC for a few months, your body stops producing the relevant hormones on its own and, once you stop taking it, it can take 3 months or so, for things to return to normal and your body to start producing them, again. I recently started taking sprintec birth control again after going without it for a couple of months, this time I started it on the first day of my period which is the "day 1 start" I came on my period July 22nd & I am still on, it usually only lasts 5-7 days so I'm a little scared now being that its been 20 days, there first 7 days I had a heavy flow like my normal pd but after the first 7 days it's been light and barely there, I talked to my doctor when the first 14 days had passed and she said that things like this can happen, has anything like this happend to anyone else? & ifso how long is it going to persist like this? I started Sprintec a few days ago I'm 43 taking them to stop excessive bleeding I'm very nauseous even smells make me sick I don't know Wat is causing the bleeding still doin tests is it normal for me to be very sick at my stomach? ## Nausea can be a normal side effect of oral contraceptives, but it's usually not that severe to be at the point where even scents cause nausea. Has your doctor run any tests? When was your last pap smear? Are you on any other medications?

So I am just taking this pill , my first month , and towards the end of week one I am suppose to get my period , will I receive it ? and do these pills cause me to get sick at all ? I am only 15 ## Hello, Jailene! How are you? Which one are you taking? I'm assuming you mean an oral contraceptive. They may cause some nausea, as a side effect and no, if you are taking the active tablets, then you most likely won't get your period that week. You'll usually get it the fourth week of the pill pack, when you take the inactive tablets.

I have been on sprintec religiously for years, cycles are always regular, always start 4 days after the last active pill. Last month period was much lighter, this month none at all. I have never missed a pill, but don't always take them at the same time each day. Should I be concerned? ## Hello, Becca! How are you? Unless it continues, or you've had an irregular pap smear, then it's most likely nothing to worry about. The natural level of hormones in your body will change over time, which could affect your cycle. But please check with your doctor for your own peace of mind. When was your last pap smear? I have had to go through 7 different BC pills to find one that I did not get horrible side effects from (nortrel) now I am forced to switch to junel because my insurance no longer covers nortrel. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between NORTREL 1-35 tablet vs. JUNEL 1.5 MG-30 MCG tablet?Are they the same with the amounts of hormone levels and amount released? I see there is ACETATE in JUNEL, What is acetate for? I am at the end of my first pack, the first weeks were fine and I didn't have spotting until a few days ago. I didn't wait for my period to start the pill, but I have been taking it everyday only off by at most 2 hours (once in a while). Yesterday I started bleeding heavier and now I'm bleeding pretty heavily and I just passed a huge clot. Has this happened to anyone else? Is this just my period?
