Is the round pink 30 mg Adderall generic name Sandoz/Eon with the markings of CDR 136 on one side more or less effective than the oval orange 30 mg Adderall generic name Barr/Teva with the markings of b974 on one side and 30 on the other side? What is the most effective/potent Adderall that is generic and 30 mg?

I've been noticing a difference in the Cor 135s for about a year now. I barely made it thru college because of the lessening effects. I was still very forgetful. But this month there is a HUGE drop in the positive effects. I've been using the same small town pharmacy for about 7 yrs and hate to leave but I may have to. However, they're not willing to work with me. The pharmacist says there's nothing different in the meds. What is this generic you're using, and what pharmacies carry it? PLEASE reply! Many Thanks!

Agreed. I only use Walgreen's now. I trust the manufacturer's they use. I will not fill any generic drugs sold at CVS, at least not the amphetamine salts.

I saw my internist yesterday. Having developed within a twelve hour period, what I was informed appeared as gout-- my left foot and ankle doubled in size, red, painful, stiff, "hot." Coincidentally (gastric bypass patient), I couldn't fathom why the left foot, "great film/performances" was the only lower extremity effected. I was given a generic immediate release adderall-- I was told it was produced by CorePharma but upon inspection and research that in fact it was Watson Pharmaceutical (Actavis, 'marked' with "half-moon and 26." I could not walk without pain, or steadily from January 8th until January 20th-- although it remains swollen, less painful. My insurance BCBS/NJ Family Care will only pay for generic unless prior-authorization. I filed a complaint with FDA after sending an email to NJ company that makes a generic whose equivalency with adderall is less 20 to 30%. I am convinced that the coincidence is indicative of an allergic reaction. My internist believes it is gout (he wants me to see rheumatologist-- possibly RA); the pharmacist said that it is not unusual for only one part of the body being effected may mitigate against an allergic reaction. "Actavis" has a rather low profile, because of its lack of efficacy for ADHD, and that it may be a catalyst for RA or, severe allergic reactions that 'paralyze' the client because of circumstance cannot afford the brand name Adderall -- Shire patents Adderall and Vyvanse. I think that Shire provides or provided an immediate release generic adderall that is/was well established, effective and responsive to those for whom ER or Extended release medications do not work as advertised because of, in my case, a procedure that removed the duodenum-- the part of the stomach that releases acids, proteins, enzymes, and amino acids NECESSARY to distribute extended release medications. Add to that malabsorption, bioavailability due to a truncated small GI area to store itself for release throughout 10 to 12 hour period. Basic anatomy especially for doctors. But for more than a decade I have had ER/XR medications foisted on me; when I've expressed the lack of effectiveness of any drug, especially, ADHD medications requesting increased dosage, possibly "booster" to ameliorate the obscenely short duration of medications like Vyvanse-- 70 mg would last 4 to 5 hours not 10 to 12. Doctors accused me of drug-seeking. In fact, the dumbing down of any and all education is apparently a pandemic. Medical experts who do not consider the 'evisceration' of the digestive systems integrity due to gastric bypass-- matters not. All any physician or assistant needed to do was look on the internet. Five minutes. Perhaps, a refresher course on Anatomy 101 they took on early Friday mornings, after getting liquored up Thursday night and sleeping through their schooling. I got rid of the adderall because despite pain, the depression, psychological effect is, for me, paralyzing, but I knew I would take the med if I hadn't flushed, now three weeks until I can be prescribed anything to help me focus, or even get out of bed-- I finally had a doctor who looked at my file-- he was filling-in-- and said "Why are you taking medications that are extended release if you had gastric bypass?" Finally ... But, the generic derivative, worked somewhat to alleviate concentration problems but its "inactive" fillers are causing another damning effect. I want to know if Shire still produces immediate release Sandoz/Eon generic; if not, is there a generic that possesses the resemblance, the reasonably kindred nature of Adderall? Or, should we merely resort to finding illicit ways to compensate for the FDA and pharmaceutical companies profitable incompetence. These corporate entities and the agency whose "purpose" and statutory responsibility is to hold themselves and any corporate body to "higher standard?" If I could concentrate, I'd form a malpractice suit. But, how do you get people with ADHD to focus and pursue a just consequence? The 100 meter for people with no sense of direction...

My god. I just have to point out that I could hardly follow your writing if anything it seemed to be rambling to the point that maybe you have bipolar disorder and the add medications are not good for that at all. I too have found that different generics effect me in different ways. I don't doubt your story at all but the way you communicated it really seems to show some other communication issues going on that the Adderall may aggravate and make worse.

Don't take the wrong way I too agree the different manufacturers have different formulas but I am looking for input on one in particular myself. Good luck

I have recently been experiencing the sameproblem with the adderall manufactured by Teva. I swear they've changed the ingredients or something!!! I've been taking adderall for several years and I never had a problem with it!! The manufacturer was Barr. Ever since the Teva it just doesn't work. It makes me feel like when I tried Ritalin. Made me feel horrible and couldnt get anything done!! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one feeling this!! Does Barr still make it??

Yes the Sandoz brand generic I've said here many times is the only best brand and pill that's effective and works consistently!! All of the others are horrible and a joke! I've been taking Adderall for over twenty years!! Thanks! Richard

I use the round pink corepharma brand 30mg instant release. I used to use the Barr/Teva 30mg oval orange for 8 years but they recently changed something and they dont help at all.

The corepharma isn't as strong but it's just enough and I do great on them.

I've never even *seen* Sandoz (well, I know quite well who they are, they used to make a populare, now discontinued "recreational" drug when we were in college in the 70's) used as a generic adderall equivalent. I've been on ADDerall since 2003 I think. I was on it before the generic came out. I'm sure I'm totally used to my dosage by now as I'm as ADHD as ever but at 40mgs (30+10) there is no way they are going to increase dosage and i"m ok with that. I'm on Welbutrin too and something new for weight control (1 year, it works) which has helped with the ADHD too. But my body and mind got so used to the adderall it was almost useless - until they stopped prescribing it, omg, it was hell for 2-3 months. It's worse than crap prescriptions, trust me. If you need it to function, you need it, I had forgotten about that part of my old self, tho I think I was more fun back then.

Does anyone know why Barr, Teva doesn't produce the original Adderall formulation that Shire created. (The first, only and original IR formula). Shire still produces the original XR, why is nobody producing IR? It seems to me the big issue for everyone surrounds the mystery of the gererics formulations (binders, fillers , and amphetamines) regardless of who the manufacturer is, including Barr/Teva. Who still owns the rights? Why is it not being produced?

I'm so very sorry for your situation. I don't have the same diagnoses as you but I have the same exact symptoms. (I have a whole host of diagnoses, most of them starting with "idiopathic," I.e. "We don't know why you're having these issues but here's a pill to cover up the symptoms somewhat."

I live my life exhausted and under a heavy stuporous somnolence. I sleep 15 hours at night and wake up exhausted and sick. Then I sit down and slump into a haze of sedation, nausea, torpor and a "hungover" feeling, though I don't drink or take any sedatives at bedtime. Also have severe lower abdominal pain for hours every morning. But the sedated, exhausted, somnolent, semi-comatose state is the worst.

I've been to a dozen or more doctors, who ate too busy to listen, let alone think, about what could be causing all/any of this. They all just either do nothing or write out a script for amphetamines for "symptom relief." While I'm grateful for any relief, amphetamines, in the long run, have wrecked my physical health even more and have ruined my life. The only thing that makes me feel worse than amphetamines is stopping amphetamines.

I can't offer suggestions, except that I think if I were completely them for a year, I believe I'd feel much better. But that year hasn't happened and isn't likely to - three months of abstinence is as far as I can get without giving up and going back to them.

I pray you may find a solution. One doctor suggested I try Straterra, but I've heard Syu many things about it's horrible side effects I'm afraid to take even one oil of it. I can't afford to risk feeling even a tiny bit worse fur even one day. I'm skating on the edge as it is. Ten percent worse would put me at zero. So I take the damned pills and have to double my dosage to get any effect after five years on and off them. And run out early and revert to my bed until I get more. It's a never ending cycle that I don't know how to stop.

I don't think amphetamine withdrawal is supposed to last over three months, is it? So why do i still need them to function at even 60% of normal after that long? I think we're in the same boat and I wish we could help each other some way. The only thing that helps me is to bite the bullet and quit taking them altogether for a week or two or three or even just 4-5 days. Then they work better again for a (very short) while. Within a week though I'm right back where I started.

I have taking both the orange and the pink 30 mg generic Adderall and I personally feel that the orange tablet is a way more effective and the pink one is a less noticeable

Agree 100% CorePharma "Core" is carried by many pharmacies now due to being the lowest cost (or close to it) generic. There's been problems for years but no changes. Another one that I found was useless was Aurobindo "Auro". Sandoz is my number 1 choice and TEVA number 2. Your mileage may vay.

The b974 is awful. I have been using Activist brand and although I came across some pills that were not as consistent as others in the bottle you could definitely tell you took a stimulant. However when I went to get a refill I was given Aubindo. This was very bad. I had turned that script into the doctor's office and he rewrote a new script. That's how I ended up with this worthless Teva. No other generics but Core in my city. Going to CVS tomorrow to see if they can get Sandoz or Activist.

I believe each persons body is different, therefore they should try both. I, myself can't take the pink ones , cause they do NOT work on me. However, the teva works GREAT

Walgreen's has the Teva 30mg Instant release. The bottle I got from Walmart was Teva but I believe it was a bad batch.

I agree with Peter Anderson... I think the pink tabs which have cor 136 on them are waaaaaay better than their orange counterparts. One side effect I get from adderall is an extremely high libido. Does anyone else have similar side effects? Todd, Weymouth Ma.
