I have a sister with a mental illness, who took serentil for years. It has been off the market for 6-7 years, she was never hospitalized when you was taking serentil. She has been on several medications by themselves and in conjunction with other drugs, and nothing seems to work well. She has been hospitalized at least 7 times since serentil was taken off the market. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or any knowledge about this drug or anything that might replace it. My wife was taken off Respidol and is showing signs of depression and shakes. ## Are you referring to the drug Risperdal, the antipsychotic? If so, then these are normal withdrawal effects. Usually, a person is tapered off of this type of medication. ## my husband has recently been diagnosed with bi polar and he is also a diabetic...insulin dependent..the doctors put him on depakote and another pill to take at night...ive noticed since then that he is unusually paranoid of everything i do or anything that is around him...he seen a doctor today and informed them of this paranoia and they put him on respidol..i am very concerned of all these meds he is taking and im wondering if one med is gonna lead to another med..and so on and so on...

loking for a medication for depression not sure of name but it sounds like ends will quillM ## Was it possibly Seroquel? It contains the active ingredient Quetiapine, which is an antipsychotic that is also approved to treat acute Bipolar disorder and Bipolar depression. I want to know what would happen if Seroquel is prescribed to a man of 180lbs and this dosage is given to a woman of 110 pounds. ## The most that will happen is you will sleep for about 12 hours. I have taken 3 50mg at one time and I am still here no problems ## Drugs effect everyone differently, so even though you weigh more, what is an appropriate dose for one person is NOT necessarily safe for another person.
