I'm adding a post to hopefully help someone as reading other people's posts has been very helpful/comforting to me! I have been on 50 mg of Pristiq for 5 years and I just made the transition to Wellbutrin xl at 300 mg. My doc switched me because my libido was becoming obsolete and wellbutrin is not supposed to adversely effect this. He had me start by overlapping the two meds for Week 1...Maintaining 50 mg of pristiq and adding Wellbutrin XL at 150 mg. I felt completely fine, didn't notice anything different. Week 2-I was to go up to 300 mg of Wellbutrin XL and completely stop taking the Pristiq. That didn't work. 1.5 days in I was dizzy, minor brain zap feeling (but not as intense as when i would miss a pristiq pill in the past) feeling super emotional (weepy) so much t...

it say take when needed ## WHAT SCHEDULE IS A TRAZODONE HCI 50/431 ## Trazodone is an antidepressant that is also frequently used to treat insomnia, in such cases, it might be prescribed to be taken as needed, if a person can't sleep. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Trish, it is not a controlled substance, though it does require a prescription in most countries. Is there anything I can help with?

I've been taking Cymbalta for 9 months. I'm experienciencing muscle pain in my arms a lot of sweating. Is this normal? Please advise. Thank You. ## Sweating can be a side effect of .Cymbalta. Try going down from 60 mg to 30 . Then, after about a month, if the sweating is worse than the benefits, taper off cymbalta, and try something else. ## I have had the sweating problem, but it's been when I missed or took it late. I wake up with my legs sweating. Yuck! ## No one but you and your doctor can say whether or not you should change your dosage, or try a different medication. The FDA does list both the sweating, and muscle pain as being possible side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, dry mouth, and mood changes. However, as females, there are othe...

I have used Paroxetine for more than ten years, having used another SRi for several years. Paroxetine was certainly better than the first drug prescribed (Citalopram, I think it was), but I have come off Paroxetine altogether in the last month and discovered some serious issues. I was taking 20 mg per day from the start. I read recently that Paroxetine might relate to Dementia so asked about alternatives. I was prescribed Sertraline. I stepped-down from 20 to 15 mg per day without a problem. After one week I went down to 10 mg per day for a further week, again without problem. I noticed I was able to think more clearly and my recall improved substantially. I then went to 10 mg every other day. Within three days I noticed a return of anxiety, panic and insomnia. I was even crying about my s

I am switching from Paxil to Viibryd due to weight gain from Paxil. I'm slowly decreasing Paxil while increasing viibryd, (my choice because I'm terrified of withdraw symptoms). I have been on Paxil for 10 years, coming off of it recently and going on Zoloft during pregnancy. I lost a ton of weight when I was on Zoloft, and the second I started Paxil again, I started gaining quickly. I wanted to go back on Paxil because Zoloft just wasn't controlling my anxiety well. So, here I am, on the 20 mg of Viibyrd plus a 5 mg of Paxil a day. Starting 40 mg of viibryd tomorrow and stopping Paxil. I am noticing that if I don't take the viibryd right at 24 hours since the last dose, I am so anxious! It's almost immediate. Does this drug have no half life? Being an anxious, ocd p...

I have been on 150mg Zoloft for a few years, for anxiety. I haven't had a bad episode of anxiety since I started taking it. But I find that I can't cry. I sometimes tear up slightly, but that's it. Even when my beloved father died, I didn't shed a tear. Has anyone else experienced anything like that? ## Hi Lauribeth, Sorry to hear about your situation. According to NIH, "mood or behavior changes" + "severe mood or mental changes" are both listed as side effects of Zoloft that you should check with your doctor about immediately. They also list "confusion" among a wide variety of other unusual side effects. I started on Zoloft 3 weeks ago and I went from cutting a 50mg pill in half to increasing it 25 mg each week. I am now on 100 mg. I was prescribed Zoloft for anxiety. I usually take the pill around 7 pm. The first weeks I was absolutely fine the only thing that is persistent is that I would go to sleep and wake up few times a night. I was wondering if this is permanent ? ## No, it should not be a permanent side effect, but it may take a few weeks for it to go away, once you are on one consistent dosage, for awhile. The FDA does warn that this medication might cause REM Onset Latency as a side effect, which means that it can take longer for you to enter the REM phase of sleep and you may not be in it for as long as normal. That can cause a disrupted sleep patter, for awhile. When I'v...

Prescribed for depression ## For years on wellbutrin I've complained of chronic adult acne, insomnia, and tons of anxiety and uncontrollable carb eating problems. Many many doctors. I have been on 30mg of the generic brand of Cymbalta, duloxetine for just about a year. I realized 10 days ago I was going to need a refill. I failed to realize that my next refill needed the doc's approval. I have yet to receive a response, as has the pharmacy. Long story short, this is day 6 of Cymbalta withdrawal hell. I am experiencing brain zaps, anytime I move my upper body I hear a whooshing sound in my head, and my body feels electric. It's not pleasant. Finding the words I want to speak is a challenge, making the words come out without stuttering or stumbling over them even more so. Nausea and vomiting hit me today. I am so lethargic and tired but I can't sleep. Tgis is terribe that this is allowed and PUSHED onto people. ## I assume you've called your doctor, r...

I took a drug test for employment and failed... The drug test came out positive for methamphetamine. I said what, I don't do drugs - I only take wellbutrin for depression everyday. This was very embarrassing. I got a note from my dr to help my case but someone needs to do something about this medicine. Is there anything else that I could ask my doctor about? ## Hello, Cliff! How are you? Have you ever tried Risperdal? It has successfully helped many people for a variety of mental health issues, including depression, PTSD, schizophrenia and etc. It's very potent so tiny doses are often effective and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, somnolence and weight gain. one side has a G other side P4 round white tab ## I have spent one miserable three weeks on the 20 mg generic paxil manufactured by Mylan. I have had to go back to the expensive PAXIL $123.00 a month until I can get myself squared away. I know I have been on a generic for the last rwo years but I do not know who the manufacturer was. They were white oval. Never examined them closly to see any numbers or letters on them. This is really frustrating and I feel violated to have been given something that was not going to treat my problem. My doctor said it is in the delivery system of generics and that the most trouble was seen in the SSRI's and other antidepresants. This is a sad comentary for our drug companies that they cannot make a better generic. It is called GREED. ## Yes, the tab...

Please let me know if Amneal Doxepin is gluten free? I am highly allergic to gluten, and take this for a rash. ## Doxepin is not used to treat a rash, it is an antidepressant that is also used to treat certain types of nerve pain. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, weight changes, and mood changes. What are the markings on the ones you are taking? I was taking 150 ml of Bupropion SR by Teva for several years and it has stopped working for my depression. Has anyone been happy with the other generic forms of Wellbutrin? I am now trying one from Activis but just started it yesterday. ## Your body will get used to the dosage of any medication that you take for a long period of time and it will eventually become less effective. Thus, it's really doubtful that switching manufacturers will help. It's most likely that you need a slight higher dosage to get the same benefits as you did before from this medication. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? You can read more Wellbutrin details here. ## Please let me know how the Actavis generic is working for you. I have been taking the Watson generic for 2 years and liked it. Just n...

Anyone take generic Wellbutrin made by Par pharmaceuticals? How is it working for you? ## I haven't taken this particular manufacturer's generic form of Wellbutrin (Bupropion), but thought I'd provide some additional information on it for those readers who may be trying to compare it with other brands/generics they may or may not have already tried. Bupropion XL made by Anchen Pharmaceuticals (of whom Par Pharmaceuticals purchased in 2011) are the small white round tablets imprinted in black ink with "A 101" or "A 102" for the 150mg/300mg doses, respectively. Each 150mg (A 101) pill reportedly contains the following set of inactive ingredients: alcohol + ethylcelluloses + hydrochloric acid + hydroxypropyl cellulose + povidone + silicon dioxide Each 300mg (A 1...

I have been off Lexapro for almost a week now (1 year on 20mg) I am having horrible withdrawals eg. Feeling like Im being zapped through my head chest & arms, especially when I move, insomnia, feeling obsessive, feeling manic, no concentration, feeling like I'm not myself and so on.. I'm just wanting to know if there is anything I can do as I am so close to just starting back on them, I don't know if I can handle this ## Hello, Emily! How are you doing? Have things improved, at all, yet? That is fairly typical for withdrawal from SSRIs, according to the information provided by the FDA. Generally, tapering is preferred, rather than stopping cold turkey, to prevent the worst of the withdrawal and rebound effects. You may also experience nausea, chills and diarrhea. It usua...

Has anybody had an elevated liver profile due to the use of lexapro? ## Brian, that was not the case for me. As far as the cost of this drug goes, is there another Depression Medication besides Lexapro that i can use that is less expensive? Lexapro is very expensive for me. When will the generic version be on the market? ## Yes, Brian, it has been known to cause that as a side effect, and you may also experience headache, dry mouth, mood changes, and weight changes. Patricia, did you end up trying any other medication? This one is available as a generic, now, under the name Escitalopram. How expensive is it for you? Do you have insurance, or an RX discount card?
