the most recent refill of bupropion a 101 has been leaving my digestive tract undissolved. my food is digesting as usual. what's the deal? ## Hello, Bobble! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals and they list it as being a 150mg Budeprion XL tablet, which is most commonly used to treat depression and as a smoking cessation aid. That said, that is just the shell of the pill that's being expelled. That is normal with time released medications. But you are getting the full dose, just as prescribed. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?
I'm going into my 3rd week of Lexapro 10mg and my anxiety has gotten better. However, mornings are still tough with anxiety. Can anyone tell me when that goes away or when it becomes manageable. I don't expect anxiety to go away completely, but I don't expect to be as agitated in the morning. ## Hello, Brownstone88! How are you? I've found that it usually starts to improve around 21 days and goes away after about a month. If this symptoms continues past that, you should consult your doctor as it may not be the right medication for you. The FDA classifies Lexapro as being an SSRI antidepressant and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight gain and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with?

I recently was prescribed wellbutrin and received little white pills labeled a102. Well last month insurance didn't cover them when I went to pay for my meds the pharmacist changed the pill to make it cheaper. I hate these ones and my insurance is back but they won't give me the other pills. How do I get them back or what would I specifically say to another pharmacy to make sure I get the ones I started with? ## You have to ask your psychiatrist or prescriber to specify the brand of generic you want. It is honestly best to just call the pharmacy and ask if they have that specific generic in stock and if they will special order the generic for you. Then ask your insurance if they will cover it. My best advice is to monitor the brand of generic you're on and how it affects you...
I have been on a variety of antidepressants over the last 7 years, most recently Cymbalta for the last 18-24 months. From Nov 2013 - Nov 2014 I had been taking 90 MG daily. While my dose increase from 60-90 MG helped at first, after a very short time my skin/face became horrible and no matter what I have done for the last year nothing has helped. But I stuck with it because I was mentally/emotionally feeling better. Then last summer/fall it had gotten to the point where I no longer felt the meds were helping me at all - in fact, I physically was feeling horrible majority of the time and I no longer felt any benefit of taking it (no energy, no motivation, nauseous, sick at times, headaches, horrible sweating and I was ALWAYS hot, memory loss and confusion) - so with my drs help I began t...
Would anyone care to share their thoughts on this article discussing "Why The Science Behind Anti-Depressants May Be Completely Backwards": huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/28/how-anti-depressants-work_n_6707272.html ## It is possible. One thing that you will frequently notice, if you study medications is that many of them are known to have a certain effect or treat a certain condition, but we can't explain how or why they do so. There are some we can explain, of course, but for many, we really only have theories on how or why they work. It is, of course, also possible that serotonin isn't a happy chemical for everyone. Eventually, we may discover that its role varies depending on certain genetic factors, or perhaps in relation to the balance of other chemicals in the body. Th...
I'm only at 2.5 mg Brintellix and experiencing horrible chest pain! Don't think I can continue. ## Hello, Bijg! How are you feeling? I am very sorry about the chest pain. However, that is nothing to play around with and wait out, please seek medical attention to have it checked out. It could be due to the medication, but there's also a risk that it isn't. so it's best to be careful. As listed by the FDA, Brintellix can cause a lot of GI issues, which may explain this symptom. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, diarrhea, dizziness and abnormal dreams. Is there anything else I can help with?

This is embarrassing for me to post but I am a newlywed. wondering if anyone else has had this side effect. please help ## YES!! It is embarrassing and frustrating. I'm a 56 yr old female and have been married to the same very understanding man for almost 35 years. Been on antidepressants for 13 years, but lexapro was added a few years ago because my hormonal changes (menopause) were wreaking havoc with my mood swings. My Dr. suggested a don't take the lexapro one or two nights before having sex. I know, it takes some planning, but like I said my husband's understanding. I'd been fooling around with the dose for a few weeks and sudden...
I am about to start amitriptyline because of IBS ## WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR DO YOU HAVE! this is a tricyclic antidepresedend it will make you sleepy ## Oliver, I have been taking this medicaiton to aid my chronic pain relief. I am taking only 30 mg at night to specifically help me fall asleep and keep asleep. 30 mg is a very small dose and not meant to treat depression. However my younger sister was prescribed this medication to treat her obsessive/complusive/anxiety in small dosage. My biggest complaint is my weight gain. I plan on removing myself from this drug. I will be discussing this with my doctor to find an alternative or stop all together. ## Ihave been taking 50mg. for about 1 year now.I take it for sleep aid, pain and depression. Updatedi have been on viibryd since the middle of july. my doctor only wanted me on 20mg. gave me the starter pack. was feeling great, but then after time i noticed that my anxiety in the morning when i woke up was enormous. i felt like i had to take the viibryd immediately to get it in my system. the anxiousness was overwhelming. called my doctor and he suggested to take 10mg in the morning and 10mg with dinner. started that today and feel a little better. the nightmares on viibryd have been disturbing. dreams of being in a plane crash seemed so real that when i woke up i was screaming. hoping that this all goes away or i am off this medicine in 2 weeks. i wish i stayed feeling good on it as i did in the beginning. the only medicine that ever worked for me was paxil cr (extended release), how...
i have bupropion from 2 diff companies both 150 mg, one labeled ER the other labeled SA. The ER is white, the SA looks brown. Any significant difference? ## Hello, Doc! How are you? No, those are both just different abbreviations that designate it as being a controlled released formulation of the medication. The SA stands for sustained action and the ER stands for extended release. The FDA classifies this medication as an antidepressant and smoking cessation aid. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and headache. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks for the info, I guess smokers and depressed people differ in whether they need to be sustained or just extended ;-) ## LOL! Very welcome! I'm happy to help.

I am age 68, and have had grey curly hair since I was in my twenties. I started taking 30 of Cymbalta less than twomonths ago. My hair is now completely straight, I feel extremely tired all the time, without enough energy to do my housework, or even barely take a shower. I rarely leave my home anymore. All my bloodwork remains normal. I don't know what to do, and am afraid to discontinue the Cymbalta for fear of side effects from stopping it. Help, please. ## Hello, Mimi! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. I do not have any information on it changing hair from curly to straight, so I can't speak on that, but the other symptoms you've mentioned can be normal side effects of this medication, as listed by the FDA, you may also experien...
Hello....I am 38 and have been dealing with a divorce that started before I started on Viibryd. I am now on my 25th day of the starter pack. I haven't really noticed too many of the side effects of everyone else. I have noticed a craving for sweets, which I am trying to stop because my Dr. has had me on adipex for weight gain from zoloft. I haven't really gained any weight from what I can tell thus far. I also haven't had any problems with stomach issues or headaches. I have noticed my sex drive come back however.... I am just hoping that this pill is going to work for me. I haven't really been able to notice anything different. Do you all think maybe I just need to wait a while longer to notice???? ## It can take approximately 4 to 6 weeks for the medication to reach it...
My MD started me on Lexapro a little more than a month ago. Started at 5 mg and I got such paranoia that I quit. On follow-up exam he suggested 2.5 mg and I've been doing that for about 3 weeks. Today I upped it to 5 mg. He was talking as high as 40 mg. I see no reason for anyone taking that amount especially with what I'm reading about rats coming down with retinal degeneration and adrenal failure, plus all the symptoms that come from withdrawals. I will stop at 10 mgs. I don't have social anxiety, I have a problem with motivation which I guess stems from some type of depression. ## My heel hurt so back got ## Hello, CatAddict! How are you? Lab animals are usually given far greater amounts than the therapeutic doses, so you can't really go by that. As to why some people...
