WHAT KIND OF DOCTOR DO YOU HAVE! this is a tricyclic antidepresedend it will make you sleepy
Oliver, I have been taking this medicaiton to aid my chronic pain relief. I am taking only 30 mg at night to specifically help me fall asleep and keep asleep. 30 mg is a very small dose and not meant to treat depression. However my younger sister was prescribed this medication to treat her obsessive/complusive/anxiety in small dosage. My biggest complaint is my weight gain. I plan on removing myself from this drug. I will be discussing this with my doctor to find an alternative or stop all together.
Ihave been taking 50mg. for about 1 year now.I take it for sleep aid, pain and depression. The biggest downfall is that it makes yoou very hungry at night which is when it usually taken. I am looking for something else because of the weight gained. I am also on paxil and oxycontin. I have severe fibromyalgia.
Hey Tracy; Thanks for confirming my concerns over my weight gain and uncontrolable need for food at night. I am also on wellbutrin and gabapentin for depression. For pain, I've been on a muscle relaxant and anti-inflammatory to help ease the symptoms. I also receive marcaine injections into my paravertebral lumbar nerves once a week. I hesitate to use the percocet that's been prescribed. I find it only lasts a short time and wrecks my sleep.
i have taken this medication for about 8 months for migraine prevention--taken just a few hours before bedtime will give you a great night's sleep--will help with your ibs (i have that too)--will also probably cause weight gain.
