I have Epilepsy and have used Epilim for almost 5years now and in that 5years I have gained almost 35kilograms. I have started to become depressed by getting fat from the Epilim so I turned to my doctor. He has now prescribed the Epitec 25mg for me and I must increase it gradually over a period of 4weeks to 100mg. Reading all of these confessions of Epitec I'm rather scared to take it now, as I'm used to Epilim. I DO believe that these medications make you gain weight, as I do follow a very strict diet and excersize every day, I still gain weight. Is it normal to be scared of Epitec and is there a diet or excersize program one can follow to ACTUALLY loose weight on this medication? ## Yes, they are all known to cause weight gain. I have been diagnosed with a benign brain tumor 10 years ago, but experienced the related symptoms from 14 years ago. It is not operable due to it's location in the middle of the head slight above the ears and in the right hemisphere. My scans were discussed at international conferences and no one is exactly sure what to call my so-called tumor. I refused to take medicine up to date. However every time I see a Neurologist/ Neurosurgeon they are persistent that I should take epileptic medicine due to the irregular seizure I experience. This medication contains the active ingredient Topirimate, which is an anticonvulsant that's also sometimes used to treat migraines and obesity. I am currently taking Lamotrigine and I just received two bottles of Apidexin along with a 72-hour Apidexin Cleanse. I am wondering if it is safe for me to take apidexin while I am taking my Lamotrigine? So if someone could help and answer me, that would be great. ## Hello, Katy! How are you? Products like Abidexin, which are available over the counter are not evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications. However, some of these cleanse products may cause diarrhea, which may interfere with the proper absorption of a medication, so I'd suggest asking your pharmacist, before using it. Is Lamotrigine the only medication you're currently taking?

Can you please tell me if Gabapentin usp 400 mg comes in an unmarked white and purple capsule ## Not in the U.S. All manufactured prescription medications in the U.S. are required to have imprints to enable their identification. The only time a prescription medication would be in an unmarked capsule would be if it were something specially ordered by a doctor and done by a compounding pharmacy and it would make no sense in this case, since this medication is already available in standard doses. That said, they are most likely some type of over the counter product, since they are not required to have imprints and be logged with FDA. Is there anything else I can help with?

i started taking this pill yesterday and i woke up today and have had the worst mood swings and panic attacks, horrible thoughts in my head, constant crying i only took two pills and its been about 6 hours since i took the last one should i go to the e.r. ? ## Hello, Smokie! This medication can cause those types of issues as side effects, when you first start taking it, but unless you are suicidal they usually don't require an ER trip. But what happened? Did you continue taking it? Because if they were that bad, this might not be the right medication to help you. Have you consulted your doctor?

How are you? It can make you more sensitive to such heat and light, so you do need to be very careful. You could burn or overheat much faster than usual. So I took this med all month last month, ZONISAMIDE 100mg they were light green and white. White side said 100. Light green side said G 24. So I get them refilled today and pick them up from the pharmacy, and I notice that its a completly different pill?? Its orange and white and on the white side it has W 990!?!? I have three capsules in my pill box which I cannot identify. They are a soft yellow color. On each piece of the capsule is printed IP and beneath that is the number 102. My doctor just prescribe me 100 mg of gabapentin 3 times a day. I've been taking it 2 days now and I've had no pain relief and no side affects. Should I try taking two at one time? I am a veteran who needs a doctor who will figure out what's wrong with me. I am ANA pos. I have mottled skin covering my back and limbs. I am Sjogren's pos. and have degenerative disk disease and spinal stenosis in my neck. I am taking Gabapentin 300mg 3X day, Hydroxychloroquine 200mg 2X day, Meloxicam 15mg 1X day Paroxetine 40mg and Alprazolam .25 3X a day..Omeprazole and B-12 daily. I have a primary care doc. in Mt. I started using epitec today. I read all the comments on it and am completely freaked out now. Why does everybody gain so much wait on this stuff???? ## Epitec contains the active ingredient Lamotrigine; which actually has weight loss and loss of appetite listed as side effects. I can only assume that people gain weight on it because they don't know how hungry they are, or they may think that they are starving themselves due to the loss of appetite and therefore start binge eating on foods they shouldn't be eating anyways. I would just go off of how "YOU" feel while taking it, because everyone responds differently to these types of medications. I am 23yr old with history of begin glioma of brain with epileptic seizure 7 yrs back. .glioma was surgically excised 7 yrs back and since then iam on oxetol. ..initially I was on oxetol 300mg bid n now its reduced to 150mg bid. ..no seizures since last 4yrs. ..my question is oxetol 300mg daily safer in pregnancy?any teratogenic effect?any chance of getting seizures precipitated during pregnancy or parturition? ## @Fathima, With regards to pregnancy, Oxetol (Oxcarbazepine) has been classified as a pregnancy-category C drug by the FDA. my son is 4yrs old. He is epileptic and treated with valporic acis and KEPPRA . HE HAVE SOME SHEECH DELAY and to some extent ADHD child. now doctor ask to give him sizodon 3-20 drops (Max) daily night. does it will affect his health or have any side effect. his weight is only 15 kgs we are giving him therapy by which his skill are improving well. we are going to OT and Speech Therapy. His social behavior with other children is good but he some biting behavior.
