Hello: I have just started Vimpat. I took one half pill of the 50mg and one full 50mg. I want to not take this medication anymore because I have bad chest pains/ side pains/ headaches and feel like a zombie. I go to the on Tuesday. If I do not take anymore until than will there be withdraws symptoms. P.S. The only seizure I have taken since August 2014. ## Hello, Jessica! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. If you had chest pain, yes you do need to stop taking this medication and contact your doctor. You could be having a bad reaction to it and will most likely need to try something else. No, there likely won't be any withdrawal symptoms, since you only took a few doses. What other medications have you tried?
Can a rash happen a week or more later on VIMPAT? ## Hello, Pat! How are you? Typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, blurred vision, tiredness, difficulty walking and tremors. Is there anything else I can help with?
Before I became more proactive than I already was, and I was focused, but not on the right place. Then I started researching the drugs I was on. One of the first was Gabapentin. While I was on Gabapentin before I had first symptoms she began increasing my dose immediately.. I could not figure out where she was going with increasing my dose every time I reported my symptoms were progressing. It had originally just been my feet. Then my legs, with hyperesthesia of my knees, specifically to cold and barometric changes., onto a pelvic floor disorder, essentially pressure on the pelvic floor, with pressure on the Pudendal Nerve. All the while reporting this to my Neurologist, who instead of asking to see me, increased my Gabapentin. Then suddenly my teeth went numb, my scalp tingled, I had h...

Updated in GabapentinI have nerve pain from shingles, what is the best compounded topical cream too use. ## Hello, Roger! How are you? I really can't say, compounded creams require a prescription from your doctor and are prescribed according to what they know works best according to their experience with other patients. Thus, there is no set ingredient list. It can vary from doctor to doctor. However, many people with this issue benefit from something that specifically treats nerve pain, such as Gabapentin, either topically or orally. It is an anticonvulsant that also treats some forms of nerve pain and mood disorders. Typical side effects, as listed by the FDA, to the oral form may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, mood swings, dry mouth and weight gain. What has your doctor advised you to use? ##...
My KEPPRA has always been Yellow with H88 on it now my KEPPRA is White Oblong with M615 on it I have had 3 Seizures since taking the White Oblong. Can you please tell me the difference is and which Brand is Generic? ## Hello, Darlene! How are you? I'm sorry about the seizures you've been experiencing. These medications are listed as containing 500mgs of Levetiracetam, so both are generics for Keppra. Sometimes, seizures can still occur, while taking a medication to prevent them, but it is very unusual that you would suddenly have 3, when given the new tablets. According to the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, there can be slight fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic medication to the next, they are allowed to different by as much as plus or minus 20% and ...

That's an abbreviation for the manufacturer, or licensed distributor that provided the medication to your pharmacy, it stands for Zydus Pharmaceuticals. The FDA lists this medication as being used to prevent seizures and treat migraines. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, diarrhea and weight loss. Is there anything else I can help with?
I was taking 100mg twice a day. My Dr. upped it to 100mg three times a day. I've been taking this for four weeks now. My eyes have been burning for over three weeks and I've had the feelings of my skin crawling for the past two weeks. Today I've been having trouble breathing, my chest tightening, and burning sensations in my face, eyes, hands, feet, and throat. Within 30 minutes time I've had round, red lesions popping out on my face, head, arms, legs, feet, and hands ## Hello, Tamisena! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problems that you're having. I think you need to see your doctor, or go to an urgent care or ER and have this checked out. That sounds like you may be having some type of allergic reaction and the trouble breathing is especially concerning, b...

He has started having seizures again so it has been uped to 25mg. He is very irritable and who knows what else as he is obviously a baby and cannot express himself. For anyone else out there who ups thier dosage-how long does it take to get used to the new dose. I the seeing my baby boy so upset. Thanks ## Hello, Carrie! How is your son? I'm very sorry about the seizures. Each time the dosage is raised, it will take about 4 weeks, for his body to adjust and for the side effects to taper off and improve. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, drowsiness, dizziness, headache and weight gain. Is there anything ...

I can't take any medications with sulphur in them. I was prescribed Schuessler Tissue Salts Water Eliminator Nat Sulph for swollen feet caused by increase of dosage of Neurontin each tablet contains 0.5mcg of the Mineral Tissue Salt Sodium Sulphate in a lactose base should these be ok for me to take. ## Hello, Des! How are you? Sulfur is the base for many medications. However, are you allergic to it? If not and your doctor has prescribed them, then it should be okay for you to take them. However, a sulphate is not straight sulfur, it is one of its salts. Typical side effects usually include nausea, increased urination and dehydration, according to the product information.
I take 1200 mg of gabapetin a day, 1 mg klonapin for sleep. From my rheumatogist. My pcp put me on ibuprofen 800mg every 12 hrs. And also lidoderm 5% patches. Will there be any side effects from the ibuprofen 800mg. And will I have any problems getting the new presciptions filled by my pcp. Just got the new scripts. ## Hello, Lynnda! How are you doing? Neither the Ibuprofen, nor the Lidoderm are controlled substances, so there shouldn't be any issues, just make sure that both doctors are aware of all the medications that you're taking and the Mescape database doesn't list any problems or interactions between these medications. The Ibuprofen is list3d by the FDA as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased r...
I have been taking it for 5 days twice a day starter pack for migraines and my side effects are nausea and headache/eye pain. Has anyone felt this way? When can ai expect side effects to go away? ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Yes, according to the FDA, those are known side effects to starting Vimpat, you may also experience dizziness, dry mouth, blurred vision and heart burn. Generally, it takes about a month for your body to get used to a medication and for the side effects to start tapering off in severity. If they don't or if they get worse, you should speak to your doctor as you may need to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?
Just wondering if anyone has taken the Lamictal generic (lamotrigine) made by Aurobindo pharmaceuticals. Just picked up my prescription... the pills look like shields and I've never heard of Aurobindo... Any issues? Or does anyone take any meds in general made by Aurobindo? ## Aurobindo is approved by the FDA as a U.S. prescription medication manufacturer. I've never taken Lamictal, but have taken a couple of their other medications, without a problem. Lamictal is an anticonvulsant that may also be used to help with certain types of mood disorders. Side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings, dry mouth and weight gain.

I stopped neurontin on July 3, 2014. On July 7, I started itching so bad that I didn't know what to do. Does this seem like it is related? I was thinking about asking my doctor to go back on it. Would this help with severe itching and feeling scratchy all over my body? Thank you! I hope you can help me. ## Hello, Renea! How are you? If you're still itching, after several months, it likely isn't related to stopping the medication. It could happen, at first, due to chemical changes in the body, as a withdrawal reaction, but that usually doesn't last more than a few weeks to a month. Have you been using anything else new, such a soap, shampoo, or laundry detergent? Are you on any other medications? Have you consulted your doctor about the itching?
Hi, I just received this cream from my pain management doctor. I have had 2 LS surgeries for severely sequestered discs, severe radiating pain and peroneal nerve decompression. Continued pain/numbness in my R leg due to radiculopathy. I take 3000mg of Gralise (gababentin) - Yes, you read correctly! I take 5x the amount of Gralise to decrease the nerve pain in my leg. Do you think there is hope with this topical cream? ## Hi Jennifer, The cream you're describing containing baclofen + cyclobenzaprine + gabapentin + ketoprofen + lidocaine, is reportedly prescribed as a topical pain reliever. However medications like this can and often do affect each person differently, whereas it's possible that you may receive more benefits from it than others or vise versa, depending on the sever...
