I have been taking APO-Sulfatrim DS 800/160mg for 7 days and have 9 days to go. I have a burning rectum after using the washroom for the past 4 days. Could this be a side affect of the drug? ## Hello, Leo! How are you doing? Has there been any change? Diarrhea can be a side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, so if you're experiencing that, it could explain the issue. Additionally, it can cause a yeast infection, in some people that take it, so that is also a possibility. The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor to be sure.

Hi. My name is Renee. I took 3000mg of cipro at once. It's been two days and I feel nothing. But every time I think of pills I feel nauseous. What will happen? ## Hello, Renee! How are you? Cipro is classified as an antibiotic, you can't really overdose on it, the only real danger would be if you were allergic to it and, since it's been a few days, I think it's safe to say you aren't. Taking that high of a dose may cause you to experience more severe side effects than usual, which the FDA lists as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and diarrhea. Has there been any change? How are you feeling? I'm guessing that feeling nausea, when you think of pills is just due to your worrying about how much you took.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. I am taking Avelox for broncitis. I am scheduled to go away on vacation 4 days after finishing my treatment, am I able to suntan? ## You can, although suntanning is never really safe, due to the risk of skin cancer, but you should be aware that you may still be more sensitive to the sun and heat, so you could burn sooner than usual, and you could experience heat stroke much faster than normal, according to the U.S. FDA. Thus, you should be careful about how long you spent in the sun/heat, and lessen your duration of exposure, accordingly, or use sun block. Is there anything else I can help with?

I would like to take Excedrin for a headache to today. Can I take w the above drug. If not, what could I take? ## Hello, Jonsey! How are you? Actually, the FDA cautions against combining the Aspirin in the Excedrin with this antibiotic, because they can increase the efficacy of each other, which may be dangerous, in some cases, due to the fact that they could reach toxic overdose levels. if I cut ciprofloxacin 500 in half will it be the same as taking a 250 mg pill because 500 is too strong for me and I am ok with the lower dose. ## You should take the dosage prescribed by your doctor. I took 300 mg of clindamycin, 3 times a day for 8 days. I finished it 2 days ago. Towards the end, I had a day or two of loose stool. So I went on the internet to read about the side effects of clindamycin. And now I'm very scared. Many people seem to get C. Difficile infection during or after the period that they took clindamycin. The dentist who prescribed it and the pharmarcist didn't mention this risk to me. Is this risk very likely? What can I do to minimize the risk? Thanks. ## Diarrhea is a normal side effect of most antibiotics, including Clindaymycin, according to the U.S. FDA and the NIH. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and non-allergic skin rash. It should go away, in few days, since you've finished it, if it does not, or if it worsens,...

Hi, I got pink eye a week ago and started to use polysporin eye drop for a day, then it got worse and more swollen and more painful. Dr prescribed me tobremycin eye drops, then after 3 days my eye got worse and worse. Tears running non stop and my eye is like a bowl of blood. It is so itchy and painful. I hardly can open my eye. After 5 days my Dr prescribed oral medicine (clindamycin 300mg) 3x daily. I just started last night but there is no change. I am so worried about this issue. I'm having asthma lately. Since my doctor is not available, I decided to just resume taking ansimar, 400mg on a daily basis, but perhaps for 10 days only. And since my phlegm is green in color, I am prompted to take Clarithromycin(Klaricid) 500 mg for only seven days(one tab a day). Is it okay to take it at the same time as ansimar or, wait for an hour or two before taking Klaricid?

Can it cause a dirty drug test result? I'm in outpatient treatment. ## Ampicillin is a penicillin type antibiotic so it may result in a positive drug test for cocaine. What kind of tests are you taking? Urine? Blood? If you can, your best bet would be to show the prescription for the antibiotic so that they can factor it into your test results. ## Can ampitrex (ampicillina) 500mg show a false positive for cocaine in a urine drug test? ## Yes Evy, per what Roy said in reply # 1 ampicilina (translated to ampicillin which is a penicilin drug), it "may" result in a false positive.
