Sulfatrim Burning Sensation

I have been taking APO-Sulfatrim DS 800/160mg for 7 days and have 9 days to go. I have a burning rectum after using the washroom for the past 4 days. Could this be a side affect of the drug?

Diarrhea can be a side effect of this medication, according to the U.S. FDA, so if you're experiencing that, it could explain the issue.

Additionally, it can cause a yeast infection, in some people that take it, so that is also a possibility.

The best thing to do would be to consult your doctor to be sure.
