It has been five days since my last dose and I am still getting new hives, skin rashes, itching. How long does Cipro last in the bloodstream? Can I have a couple beers if I am on doxycycline? ## I spoke with my doctor about this. He said you can drink but make sure you stay out of the sun while on this Anit-Biotic ## I find it hard to believe that any doctor would say that, it is never advisable to drink when you are taking prescription drugs of any type. It is even dangerous with OTC medications. ## You can drink on doxycycline. just follow 1 glass of water for every drink (or 2) to help clean the kidneys

I am taking this drug and I want to find the shelf life if it is still safe. There's no expiration date on it. ## All prescription drugs that are tablets have a regular shelf life of 1 year from the date of dispensing. Even after that year, most are still safe to use, they just start to lose efficacy. The only ones that are dangerous to use after the expiration date are Tetracycline class antibiotics.

If you are supposed to be on 50mgs, then you need to take that prescription back to your pharmacy and inform them of the error so they can provide you with the correct dosage.

Some antibiotics work better than others for certain conditions and due to drug resistance, you shouldn't try to diagnose and take something you have left over from a different condition.
