I have some Doxycycline capsules which were prescribed to me in Sept 10 as anti-malarials to use when travelling. I have been to the doctors recently and given Augmentin for testicular pain, (which as a sympton is accompanied by a watery discharge from the penis). I have completed the course of Augmentin (three days ago), the testicular pain has ceased but the watery discharge remains. The doctor instructed me to got to the local sexual health clinic with a possible UTI/STI, but for some inexplicable reason it has been closed from starting the day I tried to go, for another three weeks. I believe from these symptoms I have Chlamydia, my question is: is it safe to take these capsules ten months after they were prescribed? My 9 year old son was given Mox clav DS in last week Feb'11 after he had chest infection , wheezing, Peak Lube reading 190, ( He is asthamatic, for which Foracort 200 , 1 puff morning and evening is given since 5 years now).He is alergic and also had adenoid problem so mouth breather. He normally has peak lube reading of 250 when otherwise healthy. Now since yesterday , he again feels wheezing, chest congestion, peak 190, . Doctor prescribed Mox clav again same way. You can try the options below before you look into taking antibiotics if need be. But this should be enough to get the job done in most cases if done consistently: Gargle with hot salt water at least two to three times daily. Adding honey to your gurgle water will help with inflammation. Also making a paste out of honey and turmeric powder to put on your tonsils will be of great help. If your doctor gave it to you for a gastric problem, then it is likely that they suspect or have done tests that showed you have the H. Pylori bacteria, which can cause ulcers and stomach problems. I have an ear infestion either from an insect bite or a post from a cheap earring. The swelling has gone down but I am having real pain on the ear were the area is affected.
