Is that right? Or should I have been prescribed something else. My tonsil feels extremely itchy and I have been coughing a lot more. I'm wondering if I should get it switched. When does amox clav kick in? This is just my first day. ## Amox Clav is Amoxicillin with added Clavulanic Acid to help it work better, the brand name for it is Augmentin. It is an antibiotic and the FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The general rule for antibiotics to see if they are working for you is there should be no worsening of your condition after taking them for a full 24 hours and yo...

I only took 4 pills when this started. Please help if you can. ## Rhonda, I have exactly the same reaction to this drug. Blisters on the lips, very sore tongue and blisters on genital area. ## Hi Rhonda, what is the dose you are taking and it would be to your benifit to ask your doctor for a different medication or if it were me I would only take half a dose at a time every 4 to 6 hours. ## I am not sure if you are going to get a response, since this post was made in 2007. However, these reactions do happen to some people and in such ins...

The Avelox Side Effects can be permanently disabling and extremely damaging. Please understand the possibility of these side effects before you take this drug for a non life threatening infection. How are you? You don't have to be HIV positive to take this medication, it is actually just an antibiotic that's used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, headache and diarrhea. That said, no, it will not help someone to gain weight and you shouldn't take it, unless your have an infection. Taking it improperly creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Yesterday I took 1 tablet of bactrim for a UTI. For the next 6 hours I did not feel better, so I took 1 Rowatinex capsule. I woke up this morning symptoms free. Do I need to continue Rowatinex? For how long? Thanks. ## Bactrim is an antibiotic and just one tablet can't be expected to completely cure an infection and eradicate the bacteria that has caused it. They do not work like that. There are some antibiotics that only require one dose to be taken, but this isn't one of them. You can learn more Bactrim details here. And I have no information to provide on the Rowatinex, because it is an over the counter supplement that's used for kidney health and kidney stones. It is not actually promoted to help with UTIs. My best guess in this scenario is that this person may have been...

I feel ok now but my stomach pains bothering me now..my former dr prescribed me of tecta. i took one tablet ..im just worried for my liver or any organs after taking an expired antibiotics. i took it 4 days every 8 hours.. ## Expired antibiotics can get you a dose of toxicology. It depends on how long and which kinds go bad. ## Hello, Jojie! How are you? Expired Amoxicillin isn't one that gets dangerous, once expired, but it does start to lose effectiveness, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new and this could create the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. ...

Hi. I have stomach pains (from a possible stomach infection) and it's been days. They gave me Triaphin 250mg. Will it help me? ## Hi Prudy, Sorry to hear about your stomach pain. Did the prescribing doctor provide any diagnostics to help determine whether you actually have an infection or not? From what I've researched, Triaphin (Ceftriaxone) 250mg isn't a particularly well known antibiotic, possibly because it's often referred to as an injection, but the active ingredient is reportedly used for treating a variety of bacterial infections. If you do in fact have an infection present, I don't see why this antibiotic wouldn't help under your doctor's recommendation to take it. However, something to keep in mind is that stomach cramps/pains are listed as a potent...

White oval shaped pill with NJB 500 ## A white oblong/oval pill imprinted with NJB 500 is rumored to be a Ciprofloxacin 500mg tablet; an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. Unfortunately, I have not come across any definitive proof for this pill ID. However, multiple comments from other discussion threads have also reached the same prospective conclusion of Ciprofloxacin. I'd just encourage you to take it into a local pharmacy for additional feedback. Hope this helps!

No problems.. just the typical shin splints and common running injuries. During the past month I'm experiencing weakness in legs and extream soreness in my calf muscles, to a degree that I can only walk for 10min. My hospital checkups are 3months apart and I'm supposed to be on antibiotics for at least 1yr. I've decided to stop taking antibiotics yesterday, due to the pain. Yes, the FDA does list muscle and joint pain as being possible side effects of this antibio...

Hi Doc. I would like to know will taking purbac get rid of pimples? And also how long should i take it for it to be effective. I have gotten it from from the pharmacy and was instructed to take one a day. ## Hello Moeyy, First I would like to say that I am not a medical professional. Each purbac tablet contains the active ingredients Trimethoprim 80 mg and Sulphamethoxazole 400mg. Both of these medications are used to fight bacterial infections, so unless your pimples are caused by some sort of bacterial infection it is not likely that this medication will have any effect. To answer your follow up question, the manufacturer's website gives the following administration instructions. [1] Prubac Adult Tablets Children 6-12 years: One Purbac Adult tablet every 12 hours after meals. Adul...
