My 12 month old niece may have swallowed one of my grandmother's antibiotic pills. My sister and grandmother are both enroute the the emergency room with her, but we would like to know if this is severely harmful to her. ## What happened, when they arrived at this hospital? Amoxicillin with Clavulanic Acid is a generic for Augmentin, as you stated is an antibiotic. It is also used in children, but the dosage is usually lower, because it is based on their age and weight. It's most likely that the ER would keep an eye on a child this age, for awhile, to watch out for any possible symptoms of toxicity, such as nausea or extreme drowsiness, as well as watching for signs of an allergic reaction. Learn more Augmentin details here.

Is there any difference between sulfameth/tmp ds tab and Sulfameth Tmp ss Tab? If so what are they What does the extention ds versus ss mean anyway? ## The DS stands for double strength, because it has double the amount of the active ingredients as was in the original formula. However, the only thing I am aware of concerning prescriptions that use SS is a sliding scale, meaning the dosage is half or less than the original, so I am not sure if that's what this means, or not. Learn more Bactrim details here. Is anyone else familiar with the SS and what it stands for?

Can I eat dairy products while taking this medication for a UTI? ## Hi Mari, While there are certain antibiotics that cannot be taken with dairy; dairy products are not listed as a food/drug interaction with Macrobid (nitrofurantoin); so in this case there is no need to worry. I took a urine test about a hour after taking the pill ## Hello, If you had a to take a urine test while on Doxycycline, I think you'll be pleased to know that drug screenings generally don't test for antibiotics, nor do they have a real reason to, as they are typically not the kind of drugs people tend to abuse. The worst that could possibly happen from my perspective is if the drug test comes up with a false positive saying that you took something completely different than Doxycycline; but that is rare. I hope this advice helps!
