Amoxicillin Heartburn Please Help!!

I started taking Amoxicillin a few days ago to treat strep throat, since then I have been experiencing hellish heartburn any time i try to eat or drink anything! I mean I can take a sip of water and it burns all the way down my throat and into my tummy. I know i cant just stop taking the meds because it is treating my infection, but is there anything i can do to help with the heartburn?

I didn't find any problems listed between using it with any of the traditional heartburn remedies.

I checked for possible interactions with Tums, Prilosec and Pepcid, which covers the 3 main classes.
