I have just taken my 1st tablet of nitrofuratoin monohyd Mac 100mg & am needing to urinate about every 5 minutes, is this normal? will my body adjust to this as this it is very uncomfortable? ## Hi, Jean! Hi I was given eryko 250 yesterday and im taking 2 tablets every 6 hours, but im experiencing pains under the diaphragm, its almost like heartburn, but its quite sharp, is this normal or im allergic to erythromycin? please help this pain is killing me I also would like to know why it is recommended to take before meals? ## Erythromycin can cause abdominal pain in some people that take it, but it can also cause some more serious problems, such as pancreatitis, so you should check with your doctor so they can figure out what's going on. chest and kidney infection can I take both together ## Has your doctor told you to take both of them? My daughter has been prescribed Cefuroxime 500 for an infection and has only taken it for 1 day (2 doses) Last night the baby breastfed at 11:00 pm then went to sleep and did not wake up until 12:00 PM (13 hours and no food) He is only 3 WEEKS old! Even with her sitting him up, rubbing his back , changing his diaper using a cold diaper wipe, which he hates, she still had a hard time waking him. He finally woke up long enough to breastfeed. I am concerned about the shocking price increase associated with my supply of a common antibiotic drug which I may have to take for the remainder of my life. I have had 5 surgeries on my left thigh starting with a hip replacement in 2009. how long after exp. date can you use them ## Hi, Lori! How are you? These contain 500mgs of the antibiotic Amoxicillin and you really shouldn't use them, at all, once they are expired. They start to lose potency after the expiration date and that creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Additionally, that risk is greater if these are leftovers from an old prescription and you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. How long does it retain its potency? I am using a Rx dated 2/15/2011 for a UTI. Is it still effective? ## It has most likely lost some of its effectiveness by now. Once the original factory sealed bottle has been opened and they are exposed to the elements, they start to degrade and maximum effectiveness can only be assured for a period of one year from then. Recently had a very bad reaction to augmentin. Now suspected MRSA wound that I thought was just a spider bite infected. They gave me this and I have never taken it before. I would like to know the side effects of this drug ## Nitrofurantoin can cause nausea and vomiting, fever, rash, hypersensitivity pneumonitis. It can also cause pulmonary fibrosis.
