Can I use clindamycclyndamycin 150 capsules 3 months after use by date...take 4 of them 1 hr before going to dentist ## Hello, Josie! How are you? I assume that you take them due to a heart issue, to prevent possible infection from dental treatments? If so, then it would be best to check with your doctor, before taking them, since they are expired. Antibiotics tend to lose effectiveness once expired, so it may be better for you to obtain a new supply. The FDA lists the typical side effects of antibiotics as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
My child got amoxicillin in the middle of February. It says to throw away March 6 would it be safe to continue using. ## @Daniela, Long term studies from Harvard University as well the LA Times, both determined that many pharmaceutical drugs still remain safe 10-40 years after the listed expiration date. Knowing this, I wouldn't foresee any problems taking something that's only a month past due. I also highly doubt that it would've lost any efficacy in such a short time frame. Further research I've done suggests that many expiration dates are not necessarily "exact", but are rather based upon mere speculation and short term studies. Often times drug companies only evaluate efficacy/safety up to a certain point; and in order to get consumers to continue purchasing...
I started taking Amoxicillin earlier this week for a throat infection. About 2 or 3 days after I started taking it, I started to develop jaw pain that comes and goes. Somebody told me it was just nerve pain. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this while taking Amoxicillin? ## Hey Amanda, sorry to hear about the jaw pain you're having. I don't know if it could be related to nerve damage or not, but I just wanted to inform you that I have come across studies from ehealthme indicating that jaw pain was associated with the use of Amoxicillin in 411 out of 22,270 patients. So although relatively less common, it does appear to be a possibility. Amoxicillin also lists joint pain/inflammation, swollen lymph glands (nodes underneath the jaw), and difficulty with swallowing on...
I just got poison ivy on my ankle. Will amoxicilin help that? ## No, amoxicillin is an antiboitic and is used for infections. You need something like benadryl or calamine lotion. Something to help with the itch and allergic reaction. ## Your best bet, if this is the first time you have caught it, is to see your doctor for an evaluation. The medication you can use for it, will be based on the severity or your reaction to it. You should never try to self treat or self diagnose. ## I once had a reaction to a mosqito bite and the doctor prescribed benadryl to me so I think that would be your best bet. but I'm not sure. you should talk to your doctor ## Please give me right poison name i can understand to right poison name
I sliced my finger and got nine stitches it hurt a lot and was wondering if I could take neurobium for the pain I am taking keflex the antibiotic.....???? ## Hello, Raphael! How are you? Yes, Neurobion, as listed by the FDA, is just a multivitamin nutritional supplement, so there shouldn't be any problem taking it, as long as your doctor approves. The side effects of Keflex may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?
My doctor gave me keflex, I received the generic drug for it. When I was 5 or 6 I had a severe allergic reaction to penicillin...trouble breathing and hives and my parents had to take me to ER. How are you? Keflex contains the active ingredient Cephalexin, so it's a different medication. But yes, if you have ever had an allergy problem, you can't go wrong by keeping Benadryl around, just in case, as long as it's safe for you to take. Side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help wit...

Just started on this prescription for a urinary infection after being pulled off of Cipro which gave me headaches and made sleep difficult. Is Sulphamethox similar to Cipro when it comes to avoiding calcium (milk/dairy products) 2 hours before and 6 hours after taking it? I was told that eating or drinking calcium rich foods diminished the effects and needed to know if this applied to Sulphamethox as well. Thanks ## Hello, Kevin! How are you? He starts back to school on monday morning and I would like to give it to him before school then after school and before bed daily for the remainder of the ten days. I'm currently dealing with a tooth infection and unfortunately, I can't get an appointment with my dentist until Tuesday, and today is Friday. My wife has Cefdinir at home. Would that help reduce the swelling in my face? ## Hello, Witchdr! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about the dental infection. According to MedlinePlus, “Cefdinir is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis, infections of the skin, ears, sinuses, throat, and tonsils.
