Recently, I suffered a severe allergic reaction to Bactrim DS, with itchy hives and welts all over my entire body not to mention I have bone cancer. I'm trying to find out what Bactrim is made from to protect myself from possible allergic reactions to any certain plant?tree?etc...what is Bactrim derived from? Mold?Grass? Or????? Thanks~ ## Hello, TRay! How are you? I understand your concern, but a medication is a fully refined form of whatever natural substance it is composed of, so you can't match the allergies that way. For example, I am highly allergic to mold, but I can take most antibiotics without a problem, though many are derived from molds. You are most likely just allergic to the Sulfamethoxazole in it, I experienced a similar problem several years ago, when I took. Ab...

Symptoms are stomach cramps, nausea, abdominal pain. Can I use an antibiotic for these symptoms? ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Antibiotics only treat bacterial infections, but the symptoms you've described are most commonly caused by viral infections, so antibiotics will not help, as reported by the NIH. There are also other possible causes, such as food poisoning. Have you had this checked out? Are you doing any better?

Can you give human Amox tr cla to cats with inflammation gums. ## Hi Katlady, Amoxicillin and Clavulanate potassium (Amox TR-K CLV) is a prescription antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections. And yes it is something that may be prescribed by veterinarians to cats/dogs alike in respective dosages. However, according to Dr. Foster and Smith Pharmacy, the human form of this medication reportedly contains more Clavulanate than the veterinary form. Taking that into account, I think it'd probably be best to let a vet determine how much is safe via an in person evaluation. Hope your cat is doing well since you last posted!

I found AMOX TR-K CLV 875-125 MG tablets in my daughters bedroom and I am concerned to what they are used for and if my daughter could be using these to get high, she does have a past history of doing so, so I am just trying to be safe rather then Sorry. I will greatly appreciate a response, thank you ## No they are just an antibiotic. ## @Mary, Michael is right in mentioning that Amoxicillin-TR-K CLV is just an antibiotic. So I don't think there's any room for abuse there. From my own experience, antibiotics in general don't really have any sort of euphoric properties about them that would make it even the slightest bit intriguing to someone looking for a high. It's always better to be safe than sorry, especially when it comes to your kids; so I think it was just as imp...

How long will pliva 787 remain in your system for diarrhea to stop? After 3 days what happens if you stop taking pliva 787? ## Hello, Snu! How are you? Diarrhea is a normal side effect of antibiotics, as reported by the FDA. (Pliva lists this tablet as containing 250mgs of Azithromycin.) Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and non-allergic skin rash. If you stop taking it, before finishing your course of treatment, you create the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria and you may not fully eradicate the infection. If the diarrhea is severe, you should consult your doctor to see if they might prescribe an alternative antibiotic. Is there anything else I can help with?

When tested for drugs, can amoxicillin give you a false positive? If so, how much amoxicillin would I have to use to give a false positive for cocaine? Also, will drinking lots of water right before the test cause it to show up diluted? ## Yes, Amoxicillin can give a false positive for Cocaine, however, there is no specific amount to tell you, because this is generally caused by an unreliable test, not the antibiotic itself. And yes, drinking more water/fluids before the test may lessen the chances of its doing so, but in most cases, it will be noticed that your urine is diluted. This antibiotic may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and skin rash. ## I've been taking amoxicillin 500 mg for a abscessed tooth. sir both drugs having different treatment duration can we use a FDC FOR THE SAME ## Jagdeep sharma Delhi Azithromycin And Cefixime Combination ## Cefixime and Azithromycin precribing information ## whats is the main purpose for combination of AZITHROMYCIN & CIFIXIME combination? ## Becoz harrison 18th edition recomends that azithromycin &cefixime can use as aemperical treatment...there can b use azithromycin 1mg/day for 5 days... ## Cefixim and azithromycin should never be prescribed together; which only will augment resistance. If no response in 3days, provided no scope of c/s, should be discontinued and switch over to another. And if one suspects it as a severe disease, no harm using parenteral antibiotics. Think at least Three times before prescribing an #antibiotic.

I have an antibiodic for tmp and I have a bad tooth which causes the roof of my mouth and gum to swell with infection it is very painfull and I do not have insurance. I was wondering if this antibiodic was something that would treat this infection... ## Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethoprim can in-fact be used to treat a tooth infection, but it is not usually the first choice for dental infections since many of them respond better to other alternatives, such as Penicillin and Amoxicillin. Learn More: Sulfamethoxazole + Trimethopriml Details I would also consider speaking with a dentist about the underlying cause of this infection, just to make sure it's not something that will be reoccurring. I hope you get well soon! ## Thank you so much. I endeed got it filled today and begun taking it....
