I Think My Wife Might Have Typhus Disease.

I've taken my wife to the doctor 4 times in one week already. She has fever, body aches and dizziness. First they said she had a viral infection and to just let it take its course. But my wife's been sick for 11 days now. I looked up on the web about typus disease. And I could be wrong but my wife's seems to have all the symptoms of typhus. The doctor prescribed her sulfameth trimethoprim. Will this antibiotic help if she does have typhus?

Hello, Jorge! How is your wife doing? Has there been any change?

The preferred antibiotic for Typhus is actually Doxycycline. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

Has she been checked for it? Or for Lymes?

Some viral infections can linger for a long time. I caught a stomach virus back in October that lasted for almost 3 weeks!!!
