Prednisone for my cat. Can prednisone 5 mg for humans be substituted for the cat since medications are running low? ## Prednisone will kill cats. It's for dogs only according to my vet. The one for cats is called Prednisolone 5 mg. ## In veterinary manuals, it is warned this it should be avoided in pregnant cats, and kittens, but it can be used in adult cats, if your vet approves. There are risks associated with giving any medication to you pet, just like there are with people, but both Prednisolone and Prednisone can be used in cats and dogs. However, your vet really has the final say on that, so I would suggest asking them, just to be careful. Your cat may not need a longer course of it, or they may want to explore a different treatment option. How is your cat doing?

deriphyllin injection is usually given in vein but it is given in intramuscularly? ## There are very few cases of medications where this can actually cause problems or make a difference. Those that are normally injected into the vein are normally used that way, so that they act faster. If it was given IM, it just means that it will take longer to work and be processed into the body. If can also cause some more irritation of the injection site, such as a bubble of medication, sore muscles and some minor swelling. Recently, I had a scheduled appointment with my primary physician. I had a chest cold, which is rare for me. The doctor gave me an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, a Medrol 6-day pack, and an inhaler as treatment for the chest cold, which I didn't need. I consider this too many medications for just a chest cold, and that wasn't the reason I was seeing her. But I took the first two, but did not use the inhaler. During the next few weeks, I had two episodes where my throat seized up, once when a bit of water went down the wrong way, and then when I swallowed salad dressing with a hot pepper flake in it. My throat went into strong spasms with sharp, quick intakes of air - and I could not control it. It stopped on its own, eventually, about the time I decided I would dial 911 and gasp...
I had a allergic reaction to some makeup or cream and had very swollen and red eyelids/skin. Was prescribed 8 pills of 20 mg prednisone to take 2x/day for 4 days. I look so much better after taking the 3 pills, can I just stop now or is it like an anibotic and I need to finish the course of the pills? Kind of want to hold on to the rest in case I have the issue again, which is likely! ## You should take the full prescribed amount as directed by your doctor, then consult them if you experience a similar issue and need more of this medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, nausea, mood changes, insomnia, and weight changes. Were you prescribed any other medications?

I had to have two c pack breathing treatments yesterday plus a shot of Prednisone but I did a albuterol breathing earlier that day so why all the stuff at er ## Hi Lucy, Sorry to hear about your experience at the ER. Based on my research, C-pack breathing treatment may be referring to CPAP breathing devices that are commonly used to help treat breathing disorders; typically sleep apnea. If you run a search on google images for "cpap machines" you'll get an idea of what they look like. However, I suppose the only way to find out why they did what they did at the ER is to contact them directly... How have you been feeling lately?
My wife is taking Deplatt Cv 20 after Angioplasty. Now she is also having a backache. Can she take Diclofenac along with this? ## Hi, Aloke! How is she feeling? And no, as a heart patient, she shouldn't take Diclofenac, nor any other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medication. They can cause elevated blood pressure and fluid retention, which could further complicate her condition. Found 4 small light yellow oblong pills under my 15 year son's bed. Does any body know what these pills are? ## No, I'm sorry, but I've tried searching for this in our various U.S. prescription drug resources, even altering the imprint and I can't find any listings for anything close to this. This leads me to suspect that it is an over the counter item, although there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Have you asked your son about them? Does anyone recognize this tablet? ## Naproxen 500 mg which I was prescribed. You need to find out why your son is taking these because this potency is through a prescription only I am told.
Hi I had a pain in my hip joint and the doctor gave me, Ibunate 200mg tablets and Vitamin B com. The pain got better after few days and now it came back in my sacroiliac joints. I don't know if I should take enough rest for a week to heal and take naproxen or go back to the doctor. One question though, what courses such pains and how should I prevent them in the future. ## There are many things that could cause such issues, according to NIH reports, including heavy lifting, being on your feet for a long period of time, and other medications you might be taking. What did you doctor think might be the cause? Has there been any change, yet? Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? Do you take any medications regularly?
