A friend brought Amoxicilina name brand Broxidad from Mexico. We both have had a cough for almost 4 weeks. The pharmacist in Mexico recommended to buy this product 500MG and take one pill every 8 hours for 10 days. I can't find this brand it all when I google it. But wanted to know if anyone has bought this before? I am not getting better. Hello, I recently went to the dentist due to tooth pain in one of my wisdom teeth. after finding out that I had a tooth infection i was prescribed 10 days worth of amoxicillin, having finished this yesterday I still have tooth pain but, a considerably less amount of pain. I'm wanting to know if this means that the tooth will have to be extracted? Also, i have two 875mg tabs of amoxicillin for an infection in September should i take this in the hopes to still get rid of the infection and or to keep myself on the antibiotic so that my infection doesn't grow resistant to it. Tomorrow is Sunday so I wont be able to contact my dentist until Monday or possibly Tuesday if he celebrates president day. ## An antibiotic only helps eradicate the bacteria that causes an infection, it does n...

I was prescribed 1000 mg amoxicillin for a badly infected finger. The pharmacist didn't have the exact drug so gave me amox tr-k clv 500 mg plus amoxicillin 500 mg to take together. The bottle for amoxicillin also says augmentin 500 mg. Within an hour of taking the first dosage, I became violently ill. I immediately discontinued both products but remained violently ill for over 18 hours, vomiting at intervals of no more than 30 minutes for the entire time. 15 days later, I still feel weak and listless. Any idea what caused this? ## Hello, Greg! How are you? Have you ever taken Amoxicillin before? It seems like either it, or the clavulanic acid in the Augmentin disagrees with you. I experienced similar issues several years ago, just before the rash and hives broke out 9 days into my ...

I just wanted to add that my doctor also said you can not take all medicines out of their capsules as it can be very dangerous to do this with certain drugs but I was fine doing this with amoxicillin. Always check with your doctor or pharmacy beforehand. I would imagine you could transfer into a veggie capsule. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? Yes, you are correct and so were your doctors, but to clarify for anyone curious, the difference lies between whether or not a medication is time released. If it is, then opening the capsules, or crushing the tablets could defeat the time release and may result in your getting too much medication at once, which could result in an overdose. And some medications, such as high potency potassium supplements can be very, very harsh on the stomach, so the...

My little boy was given amoxilin for ear infection and this is his dosage......600/5ml.....he should take 10 mls twice a day for 10 days.....does that sound about right? ## Hello, Marcy! How are you? At that age, it is dosed according to weight, which for an ear infection is 30mgs per kg per day, so that would be 2,100mgs a day. Usually, it's recommended not to exceed 1,000mgs a dose, but if this is 600mgs per teaspoon, that is likely the closest they can get, without under dosing him, since they have to be sure the infection is eradicated. Please double check with the doctor though, to make sure that the dosage is correct. Is there anything else I can help with? ## What is the proper dose for 4 year old weighing 36 lbs. ? So I found out that I may have a gum infection and my dentist prescribed me with Amoxicillin in hoping the infection would ease down, as there is a small swelling on my top left side gum and it hasn't seem to settle down. The pain in my gums is excruciating as it comes on in a pulsating form within the two to three teeth parts along the gumline and it will last for about 30-50 seconds and then it will go away. But can a gum infection last this long?
