I am very sorry about the dental infection.
However, the is a very, very high price for a root canal and I strongly urge you to consult other dentists, as you'll likely find lower prices, or even be able to find one that will extract it for you.
Amoxicillin is an antibiotic that is commonly used to treat or prevent dental infections. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
