Hi. I started taking Oxy for my back pain about a year ago. I noticed an added benefit was a general energy lift and of course kept taking them even after my back was healed. Not daily at first, of course. However, a year later I was up to about 50mg per day give or take a few mg either way. Today is day 2 of no oxy's from a 4 day taper. Feeling ok. I've been taking immodium and kratom off and on throughout the 2 days and even though I'm not 100%, I know it could be much worse. A little sneezing, rls and just a general achy feeling. I do have some Xanax that is helping me sleep at night so thank God for that. I don't know how I would do this without sleep. For anyone going through this, please hang in there. I've noticed that when I get the craving really bad, I can ...

I take Lyrica for neuropathy. It helps me. When I eat, 15 to 20 min. after it kills the effect of the medicine. So I find out I have to take more than what is prescribed to get to feeling better. Does anyone out there have the same problem? ## Somethings we eat do affect medications, howver that is not a normal problem for LYrica and should not happen everytime you eat. Remember this is not a pain killing medication, so it does work like narcotics or similar meds, this med has a cumulative effect and can take several weeks to reach a therapeutic effect in your body. I would suggest you need to speak to your doctor to get to the root of this problem and make sure you are not taking too much of the medication. ## I have been on neurotin for about 8 years now. And also up to 200 mg of Lyri...

I have taken Neurontin at 800mg at 4 times a day for eight years. Also taken Lyrica at 200mg 4 times a day.It helps with pain and neasuea, before i eat and after i eat and it kills the effect of the medicine. So I have to take more than prescribed. So does any body else have this problem. Are any sugestions? I have talked to my doctors about this. They don't listen. They also didn't listen to me about it being adictive. I was right about that. So if anyone can help or tell me how to get help please, please write me back. Thank you. ## The reason they do not see these as being addictive is because they are not actually pain medications, they are not narcotics, so they don't carry the same side effects and addiction as narcotic opiates do. What you experience though, when you ta...

I have been taking Zoloft for anxiety for about 32 years now. I don't feel any different. I am wondering if it loses it affect on people after being used for a while. My question is, is there anything better for anxiety issues? I do not suffer from depression! What should I ask my doctor to change me to? Thanks! ## Have you ever tried or considered Xanax ? ## DONT take xanax ever! It is highly addictive. And if you get hooked the detox process is so painful that I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. ## Your body will adjust to the dosage of any medication if used for a prolonged period of time and it will stop being as effective for you. There are several Benzodiazepines available, other than just Xanax, there is also Klonopin, which is commonly used to treat nerve and anxiety d...

I took Hydroxyzine that technically expired in 2009. It's 2014 now. What's gonna happen? ## Hello, Ash! How are you doing? This medication doesn't turn toxic, once expired, it just loses effectiveness. Thus, it will most likely not work as well as it did, when it was new, but it shouldn't cause any harm. However, if you require such a medication, it would be best to dispose of your expired stock and get a new prescription. Side effects to this medication may include nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, sedation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

MY DR SND INSURANCE CO, SAY THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE FOR LEXAPRO..I READ ONLINE THAT ESIPRAM OR EXIPRAM IS THE GENERIC FOR LEXAPRO MADE BY SAME COMPANY...WHAT IS GOING ON..IS IT REALLY AVAILABLE IN THE USA..LEXAPRO DOES NOT GO OF PATENT TIL 2012 ## Escitalopram is the active ingredient in Lexapro, which is traditionally used as the name for the generic medication when it is available, however, your insurance company and doctor are correct, it is NOT available, yet. ## Esipram does exist! I've used it before and it is just as effective as Lexapro. Its definately available in Australia. If its true that Lexparo loses its patent in 2012 then there wouldn't be generics of escitalopram available as there has been in the last couple of years. ## I take random drug panels for divorce/cus...

Can Losartan 50 mg loose it's effectiveness for lowering blood presure overlong term use? ## It actually isn't that the medication loses effectiveness, but that your body gets tolerant to it. Your body can get used to anything you use for a long period of time and it will eventually stop working as well for you. Learn more Losartan details here. There's really no precise time frame, it can vary from person to person. Some people can take the same medication in the same dosage for years and it will keep working, but some people will need to switch to a different dosage or medication after just a few months. And since we are talking about your blood pressure, you also need to be aware the certain lifestyle habits can also play a role and may be making it so it's going high...

Is it safe and effective to take Celexa 20 if it ha been expired for 2 years? ## Hello, Colleeb! How are you? This medication degrades over time and thus loses effectiveness. It would be best to simply dispose of what you have left and see your doctor for a new prescription. This is an SSRI antidepressant and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, weight changes and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Most all drugs are still quite effective even after 5 years. This to say maybe if the drugs were in airtight containers and a dry environment.

My man used oxycontin fairly responsibly up until the last 8 months. Now, when he gets his prescription filled, he stays up all night doing God-knows-what. The next morning, I've found things in places that make no sense. He breaks and loses things. Often, he continues to carry on this way for a few days and nights. If he sits down, his eyes close and he fades away, but his arms and legs continue to constantly move and reach for nothing visible. He's gone on this way for up to a week at a time, then he'll finally crash into a sleep that lasts for days, waking only to take his oxy. He doesn't seem to remember most of this. Can anyone tell me what's going on here? Is there anything I can do? He won't acknowledge a problem. ## well the oxycontin is a time released h...

can scopex syrup be used after the expiry date. and if not, why? ## Hello, Tarin! How are you? No, a liquid breaks down and loses efficacy very fast, so once expired, it's no longer viable as a medication. You should see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Does the same apply to scopex sugar coated tablets? What is the shelf life of scopex?

white cricle ## This is a generic form of something called Fiorinal, (the generic ingredients are butalbitol (a sedative), caffeine and aspirin). It is used for serious migraine headaches. It is a very common migraine medication. It is not a controlled substance; however, it can make you very very tired after the caffeine loses its effect. ## Butalbital is a member of the barbituate family, so it can be physically addicting ( 'habit forming'). Your experience may vary. My experience with Fiorinal was that I DID build up a tolerance, so that the doctor had to prescribe me ever larger & larger doses, taken more & more often. However, I was not aware of any withdrawal symptoms when I was not taking the stuff. ## The pill has west word 785 what is it. ## Westward and it'...

I have recently been put on this drug for sleeping and well its not working at all. I have been taking one at night before bedtime which is what I was told but is it safe to take 2 since im not getting any rest with the 1? ## Also I failed to mention in last comment they are 0.2 mg ## I would recommend trying 1 1/2 first take it no more than 15 mins before bed it works fast. But if u take it 1hour or 30 mins before bed you can kind of simulate yourself into it not working then it loses its effect. Once the groggy effect wears off before your in bed most likely you will not fall asleep well. ## I would also call your doctor to let he/she know it's not working because if you increase your dose without say so to the doctor they will not be happy and you will run out of meds early. Have severe degenerative disc disease. I recieve fyntinal patch and 10-325 hydrocodone and this has been ongoing 10years or so. I have learned not all hydrocodone is the same and that using the same hydrocodone loses its effect but changing the generic hydricodone manufacturer can help keep the effects of the medication working at its peak. ## Hi roro, Sorry to hear about your condition. It sounds like you have a pretty good idea of what works for you and what doesn't after being on these for 10 years. No one can argue that. However in my opinion, you're proposed theory on hydrocodone having more profound effects when you change manufacturers is debatable depending on which manufacturer you get. Often times the differentiating inactive ingredients play a role in how well one bra...
