What Is Apo Stand For
18 Topics Foundwhat does the word apo stand for when it precedes the name of my medication ## Hello, Jeannie! How are you? APO stands for Apotex Pharmaceuticals, they are a generic prescription medication manufacturer. In Canada, generic medications are commonly referred to in such a manner, an abbreviation for the manufacturer, a hyphen and then the actual drug name. I think it helps avoid confusion, when someone receives a medication made by a different manufacturer than the ones they were used to getting. Is there anything else I can help with?
On my sleeping pills it says "Apo-Zopiclone"... Then in brackets on the prescription label it says GLA. My question is, what does APO mean...and what does GLA mean? Thank you. ## What's APO 37.5/25 on my sleep medications stand for ## In Canada, and some other countries, medications are often listed according to manufacturer, and name of the actual chemical, so in this case, the APO stands for the manufacturer Apotex. The GLA stands for the distributor, since Apotex licenses their products to several companies for dissemination across the country. The 37.5/25 is the designated dosage of the substances in the relevant medication. Zopiclone may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, and next day hangover-like effects. Is there anything else I can help wi...
When I refilled my perscription for Trazadone, I though the pills looked different. they are small white round pills with a split line and PLIVA 433 stamped on them. The old ones were oval I think. The old bottle says Trazodone 50 mg Tablet APO. The new one says Trazodone 50 mg Tablet PLI What is the difference? ## Only the manufacturer! PLI on the new pills stands for Pliva Pharmaceuticals and the other ones were made by Apotex. Most pharmacies will switch according to whomever provides the cheapest option when they have to reorder. The medication, however, is the same. Do you have any other questions? ## There IS a difference! I have experienced tachcardia every night since switching from Apo to Pli. I am not happy! ## I have also felt jittery and had more problems sleeping on the pli...
Fentanyl transdermal system 25 mcg/hr. for example 100 upsidedown lowercase hg equals 10 mg of morphine what does the upside down hg stand for? ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? No, that conversion is not correct. Fentanyl is actually over 81 times stronger than Morphine, so it would take a bit more than 81mgs of Morphine to equal one single milligram of Fentanyl. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And I apologize, but I am not quite understanding what symbol you're describing. Can you post back with more information? Thank you!
What is the difference between a RX that has keto as a suffix compared to same RX with apo as a suffix? ## That's just the abbreviation for the manufacturer. APO stands for Apotex. This is commonly done in Canada, many medications are referred to by the manufacturer first, then the drug name, so you may see something listed as APO-Clonazepam or KETO-Clonazepam. Learn more prescription drug details here. Is there anything else I can help with?
what is the difference if same drug says Myla or apot ## Those are just abbreviations for the manufacturers. Myla stands for Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Apot is for Apotex. However, if the medication name and dosage is the same, then there is no need to worry. Is there anything else I can help with?
What does apo or nova mean next to the name of prescription drugs? They put apo or nova in front of the drug prescribed. ## Hello, Joe! How are you? In Canada that is done to designate the manufacturer, APO stands for Apotex Canada and NOVO stands for Novopharm. Is there anything else I can help with?
Trying to identify a small oval yellow pill that says APO one said and P40 on the other ## I also have an oval yellow pill, apo on one side p40 on other side. ## The pharmaceutical name for this drug is APO or RAN - PANTOPRAZOLE. It comes in either 40 or 20 mg and that is what the 40 stands for on the pill. This drug is mainly used to treat stomach ulcers, intestinal ulcers or gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD). You should talk to your doctor before taking this medication especially if you have any liver or kidney disease, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Certain individuals may have an allergic reaction and this drug may have complications with other medications you are taking so it is important to speak to your doctor, or at least a pharmacist before taking it.
Greetings, This will be my first post. I am hoping for some information and help, regarding side effects and vision. I apologize for the long length. My Mother will be 87 on Sunday and she has been having terrible headaches (migraines). She is getting floaters in her vision, numbness in her face and sometimes down her arm. She is now terrified that she is having mini strokes. They have done multiple tests and have found nothing. Her doctors have tried to reassure her that everything is fine: She does not believe them. They have been adjusting her Cumadin dosage over the last few weeks; I am sure this is the culprit and this is why: As a teenager (54 now), I had them. It started with amebas floating in front of my eyes and having the feeling that I was physically standing behind glass (L...
On our prescription label for sotalol hcl tabs, the sequence aptx2 appears in the bottom right hand corner. What does this sequence mean? ## What manufacturer named APTX2 makes generic atorvastatin? ## I think it is this Canadian company. Apotex. apotex.com/us/en/products/search.asp?qt=All&qs=&t=All%20Products ## Jim is right. I just got on their website. I have just been changed to this generic and have a suspicion that it is what is causing my recent brain fog and fatigue. The website does not tell what country it is made in.The fact that Canada is where the company is does not mean that that is where it was made. I did not feel this way when taking the former generic I was on or when I was on Lipitor. Has anyone else had trouble with this drug? ## That stands for the manufact...
Please tell me if Clonazepam 1 mg is made without the letters APO? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? Yes, it is, APO stands for Apotex Pharmaceuticals and they are just one of many companies that manufacture generic medications. A round, blue tablet with C over 1 on it is manufactured by Accord Healthcare and they list it as containing 1mg of Clonazepam. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am on the accord 1 mg clonazepam and they are making me physically ill. I have been on the mylan clonazepam for years and they never affected me this way.
I bought fentanyl / fentermina 30 mg in Mexico it's a small off white pill with letters apo on one side and a line down the other. Is this what it is supposed to look like? ## I got the same things yesterday. Did you find them to be real? Did they work? ## If you filled your prescription in Mexico I would recommend contacting the pharmacy there for any additional details pertaining to this medication. Perhaps they can at least provide you with manufacturer information as a means of verifying its legitimacy. Since countries outside of the US don't have the same rigorous evaluations and standards that the FDA requires, another option that may feel more secure is to have its contents analyzed by a lab or drug panel. Just going off the description alone it still seems like too much ...
Found this white pill with the marking "AP 500". Not APO or anything else!! Please help. Again "AP" on one side and "500" on the other. Thank you. ## I'm trying to figure out the same thing only this one has AP 500 on the same side. ## What pill is AP500? I found a bottle filled with these, but no name, and can't seem to find it anywhere. ## I don't know the answer but it's most likely something over the counter, or it could also be from outside the US. If it were a standard US prescription drug I'd expect it to be found on DailyMed or another prescription database. ## It's an OTC pain medication. Tylenol, maybe generic, 500 mg
Hey. I take quetiapine (seroquel) for anxiety at 50 mg. I'm just wondering because I recently went to a different pharmacy to fill my prescription if there is a difference between brands. I have always received co-quetiapine, but this pharmacy gave me apo-quetiapine. Does the different brand matter? Will it have any effect? ## No, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference, both manufacturers are required to meet the same strict standards in order for their medications to be available for your doctor to prescribe. The FDA warns that Seroquel may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, gas, stomach pain, and fainting. Ref: Seroquel Information Is there anything else I can help with?
I cannot identify this pill. Most have numbers when I look up the description. The 2 letters also have an imprinted oval around them. ## I haven't come across any close matches in particular, but if it's a "W W" I'm thinking it could possibly stand for West-Ward Pharmaceuticals. Apotex Corp. also has a strange logo that looks like it might be easily confused for two M's, depending on how you look at it. But these pills tend to have other numbers on them as well. I would consider contacting West-Ward Pharma, just to see if it happens to be one of their own products: west-ward.com/contact.php I hope this helps in any way! ## It might be isosorbide dinitrate oral (Isordil).
Hello all, First off I'm new to posting here and I must admit this is probably a topic that is quite frequent and I have done days searching but can't seem to really find any info on my specific situation. I apologize in advance for the long post but I will introduce myself and situation. I've been on oxycodone 10/325 for a little over a year now from a botched foot surgery and diabetic neuropathy in this same foot. It helps tremendously and seems to be the only relief I can get is from taking these. Whether its first thing in the morning to be able to stand up and get moving or whether it's to let me settle down and drift off to sleep which is something fairly hard to do. I also was recently diagnosed with PTSD from my job and I am currently out of work for this. It is ...
I am 75 year old. I take Beta card 50 mg since 40 years for my BP and Amlodipine 5 mg since 20 years.I also take Urimax 0.4 mg since 3 years for my prostatomegaly.Of late i am experiencing orthostatic hypotension when i suddenly standup after sitting for a long time or standing for a long time.I am told that either amlodipine or tomsulosin(urimax) may cause hypotension. Is it so? If it is can i shift my dosage of amlodipine to evening instead of morning when i take beta card. If Urimax is the culprit can i take it at alternate days? Can any knowledgeable gentleman advise in this matter. ## My apologies for not being a gentleman, since I am a lady, but I hope you don't mind my responding. The information you have been provided is correct, it could be due to either one of these medicat...
If I take a Norco (hydrocodone) and a Lortab (hydrocodone) will a 5 panel drug screen be able to distingish the difference? ## The screen roll pick up hydrocodone. Be Sure to inform tester you are taking BOTH DRUGS and why you are taking them. What do you take both? Just curious ... ## I take Lortab for Chronic pain however I had a Norco from some time back and took it and now I worry that it could distingish on a drug screening and I am only prescribed the lortab. I guess it wont matter ## Since they both contain Hydrocodone, as the active narcotic, they would both show up as such on standard drug tests. Since this is a narcotic, it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments? ## I apologize for mi...
