What does the letter c indicate at the beginning of an RC number ## It may be an initial for the manufacturer, which could translate into any number of pharmaceutical companies that start with a C. Unfortunately without seeing the entire label first hand, I think all anyone can do is guesstimate what it truly stands for. Whereabouts did you get your prescription filled? CVS or Rite Aid? If you ever get an opportunity to ask the pharmacy that gave it to you, kindly post back here with any updates, so we can all figure this riddle out...

I'm going to Harrisburg on vacation... I have a script from NJ for Percocet. When I fill it, will it show in the NJ PMP? I already found a pharmacy that will fill it out of state, but in PA they don't have a PMP in place yet. So does that mean they won't report it to NJ? PA is not part of the PMP Interconnect that shares info across a national database ## They all share information, now. Be it through a regular datbase, or via other electronic means, it is all recorded, and shared, especially when it involves controlled substances, such as an opiate. The FDA warns that Percocet carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything I can help with?

Hi, I know this may sound like a stupid question but I have suffered from Opiate-Induced Constipation for 15 years and have followed several different VA doctors recommendations, none of which really worked or else the VA pharmacy would fill their recommended prescription. My civilian doctor got me approved for Linzess which I have read great things about. By inpacted, I think it means where the stool is backed up and is blocking evacuation but now I am thinking that since opiates cause slow transit of stool through the G.I. tract, that might be the inpaction they are talking about. I have never had a complete evacuation of my G.I. tract (colon), only partial. So which is it? The inpaction around the evacuation point or up through the colon? ## Hello Lartomar, According to Harvard Healt...

I have been prescribe opana for over a year now and the dog carried off my months prescription and buried it. The Dr. Said he can't help me! I need some in a bad way ! Please help ## The DEA will block it even if he wants to give you the prescription. However you can get (I take instant so I'm going to make up the mgs for the example) a prescription for 100 20Mgs if you get 50 40mgs and take 2. But likely he will not write you this. Next you can ask for something called withdrawal patches. Doesn't mean you're an addict, you can still have withdrawals. If you have chest pains or shortness of breath for seemingly no reason call 911. Stop any meds especially narcotics cold turkey (albeit not by choice) is extremely dangerous. So monitor yourself. You may be ok. You may have...

I have a UTI Pirifur & Fenazopiridina have been recommended, should I use both or just one? ## Were these medications recommended by your doctor? It is probably best to go with your doctors recommendation (rather than someone's online opinion) since he or she would know best, based on your medical history, and various other methods used for determining if a specific drug is suitable or not. In the meantime I think it would be wise to research and try some natural remedies to help fight the infection without the extra side effects that come with prescription medications.

I NEED TO KNOW THE OVER THE COUNTER PHARMACY PRICE OF 80 MG OXYCONTIN TIME RELEASE ## Oxycontin is a prescription only medication, since it contains a very potent narcotic, which is Oxycodone, therefore it can't be purchased over the counter. It requires a doctor's prescription. In addition, there is no set price. It is going to vary from pharmacy to pharmacy and depending on the amount of tablets required to fill the prescription. There is no generic, so it can be pretty expensive. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Do you mean cash price? You want to pay for your prescription without using insurance? meaning you have a written prescription from the doctor for the 80mg OxyContin.... If this is the case this med is disgustingly expensive.... For 20 pills in NY it is a...

How can I get this medicine at an affordable price. my insurance will not cover and charges my $25 for 15 pills. On fixed income and cannot afford. Any information will be mostly appreciated. Email address {edited for privacy} ## Have you considered applying for any type of patient assistance program to help cover a percentage of the cost of your medication? There are also a number of "prescription drug coupons" that can be found online through various search engines like Google, as a last resort option. Patient assistance programs aren't always available, as it largely depends on the manufacturer; but if you're goal is to just save some money, I think some of these coupons can save you anywhere from 10-75% off your next script. In the meantime, I'd recommend asking ...

I am an opioid patient and when I can't get relief a friend told me that taking 400mgs of gabapentin helps the sickness. Is this true? ## Yes it does help, 600 pregab 2 times a day helped me a great deal. I have tried many times to come off opiates over 20 years in fact, never much success. But was able to come off completely with pregab just be warned, if taken for to long they are also addictive. ## Pregabapentin are stronger than gabapentin, and i meant 600mgs pregab, you can also use gabapentin it just depends how much opoid you are on, mine was a bad addiction. ## Gabapentin is an anticonvulsant that is also used to help treat certain types of nerve pain. ref: Medline Plus Gabapentin It may help with some withdrawal symptoms, but it is a prescription only medication, so you wou...

My daughter is 12 and her weight is 160lbs and she had surgery and they gave her 360oz of hydrocodone - acetaminophen 7.5-325mg/15mL and she takes 10mL every 4 hours. How long should this bottle of meds last? ## Hi Kayla - Can you please double check the total size of the bottle? 360 oz doesn't seem possible for a prescription since that equals over 10,000 ml. Do you mean to say 360 ml? ## I'm going to assume for a moment that the OP meant 36 oz of liquid since that equals about 1065 ml. That being the case, taking a dose every 4 hours equals 6 doses per day. BUT ... I will also assume only 5 doses per day since the patient is probably sleeping longer than 4 hours, and taking 5 doses per day at 4 hour intervals equals 16 hours of wake time. So ... 50 ml per day of liquid. 1065 m...

It might help you get some answers if you clarify. Thanks! ## Translation: Rob is asking where he can obtain opiates. One day Rob you will be asking how to stop using, that time hasn't come yet. I went to er with pancreatitis and kidney stones, and I was sent home with a prescription for norco 5-325 mg 1-2 q8h. Does this mean I can take up to 2 every 8 hrs? I am concerned cause it would help but I'm 5'3 94.6 lbs. Is that a safe dose for my size? He says it is but i wanted a different opinion. ## Yes, that is what it means according to the prescription details you've provided. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Your height and weight have nothing to do with the dosage prescribed, it is based on your tolerance to opiates, and how much pain you are in. Have you started them, yet? I found two round white with a bunch of pinkish specks on them. There is no imprint and would like to know what they are. ## We can rule them out as being U.S. approved prescription tablets, since they are all required to have imprints to enable their identification. That means they are most likely over the counter products and that leaves it open to many different possibilities. What is your general location? Some products are regional, so that may help to narrow it down. Does anyone else recognize these? Pill that is red and has an X that goes from end-to-end on one side and blank on the other - Does anyone have any idea what it might be? Oxycodone maybe? ## All prescription tablets in the U.S. are required by law to have unique imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. Therefore, since this one only has that score line, we can rule it out as being any type of prescription product, which means that it is most likely something that's available over the counter. Big capsule thats half white and half blue no other markings ## If there are no markings on it, it is going to be hard to narrow down what this. We can rule out its being a U.S. prescription medication, since they are required by law to have markings to enable their identification. However, the field is wide open when it comes to over the counter items or foreign medications. There is nothing that says they have to have an imprint and the colors of something doesn't mean anything. Was it found in the U.S.?

Does walfinate d contain acetaminophen or hydrocodone? ## Hi, Jeff! How are you feeling? Wal-Finate D is actually an over the counter product, so Hydrocodone can be ruled out, because that is not available over the counter in the U.S. That is a prescription only medication, because it's a narcotic opiate. This product contains Chlorpheniramine and Pseudoephedrine, it is used to treat cold and allergy symptoms. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and dry mouth. You can learn more Chlorpheniramine details here and there are more Pseudoephedrine details here. And that means that it doesn't contain Acetaminophen, either. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a prescription for 20mg Opana ERs, and strongly desire to get the newer "generic" version. The "G 73" tablets work better for me, and are more inexpensive. My doctor has checked the product selection permitted box at the bottom of the actual prescription, which I thought meant that a generic version is allowed, but am still having problems. I have a friend that told me that the prescription must read "oxymorphone", and not "opana" in order to get the generic version. Is this true?!? ## No, it doesn't have to be written for the generic/active ingredient to get the generic. However, it depends on whether or not your pharmacy carries it.
