I have undergone Angioplasty with Stentlad Coronary Artery. Doctor prescribed Repace 50 mg daily after dinner in addition to Aztor 40 mg (at night), Prasugrel 10 mg (morning) and Echosprin 150 mg. No, it is not a good idea to just stop taking them, that could actually be very dangerous. If you abruptly stop them, it could cause a rebound effect that may cause your blood pressure and heart rate to go very high, which could put you in life threatening danger. My mother is 72 years of age and has been taking Repace 50mg in the morning and one at night for the past 10 years... Is it ok....like as far as side effects are concerned?..... Can she safely stop taking her nightly dose? ## She should take the medication as prescribed by her doctor. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. If she is taking it for high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, those conditions can be far more dangerous, if left uncontrolled, than the risk of taking the medications. Is she on any other medications?

I was given repace and ascarid which I took for about 25 days after which I realized I was itching alot and my body was developing severe rashes. I stopped taking the medicine and saw a doctor after 2 days. By then my pressure had started shooting up. The doctor gave me norvasc and ebastel for my itching. The itch did not stop so I went back to the doc who gave me prednisone for five days. The itch is still there and everytime I scratch, my skin turns red, sore and since the prednisone, it swells from the inside. I have scratched until my skin has opened up. What could be causing this and how can I solve this as the itch is too much? I am thinking of going back to the doctor.

I have been detected hypertensive seven years ago. Initially I took telmakind and later repace h 50 Mg with Amlokind. But after two three years when i went to see a Doc, he did ECG and suggested that I should continue to take Repace H and Ecospirin AV. I have been taking it since. And remarkably both keep my bp exactly at 120-25/80-85. But I want to know if I can continue like this. I havent experienced any side effects. I am 51 female suffering from diabetes and high BP. I was on riomet 500 mg for Diabetes and Prolomet AM 25 and repace25 for BP. Hi, I am Diabetic with Blood Sugar (Fasting) - 105mgs/dl & Blood Sugar (Post Food) - 169mgs/dl. My HDL is 58mgs/dl & LDL is 136mgs/dl. The Triglycerides is 195 mgs/dl.
