Since the drug companies had taken propoxyphene (darvocet ) off the market & my Merck Manuel read that methadone had the same chemical structure, my Dr. Had agreed to let me try methadone in a very small amount for my severe spinal pain. There was nothing left for me or most all older people to try without mental & horrible physical side affect until I started with 1/4 of 10 mg methadone 2 X a day for the 1st yr. After 5 yrs, I am on 20 mg a day & it controls my pain w/ no side effects similar to darvocet. The only generic I would settle for was the mallinckrodt generic as it was better in my opinion than ROXANNE. Then one day I went to pick up my Rx & all they could order was a new brand called Ascend. I called all 12 pharmacies in my whole county & no one has anyth...

COSTCO BUYERS beware. It is cheaper because of where they purchase the generic suboxone from. It is being manufactured in a third world country. Pharm co. covers this, there is a real quality difference. Ask your pharmacist where the medication is manufactured. That's the reason for low cost, low quality. ## Hello, Subhuman! How are you? Regardless of where it is manufactured, if it is approved to be available in the U.S. by FDA, then it must be the same quality and efficacy guides as all other generics. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## With all do respect you're very wrong. The difference in generic me...

IS THERE A SITE TO WARN OF FOREIGN.. IE. CHINA - INDIA, INFERIOR DRUG QUALITY ? DOES OUR PHARMACIST KNOW THE DRUG SOURCE? THERE SEEMS TO BE AN INCREASING CONCERN.. THANKS.J ## If you are getting them from your pharmacy, then they have to be approved by your drug agency and must be of the same quality as those manufactured in the U.S. or Canada and approved for sale there. And yes, your pharmacist would have information on the manufacturer and their location. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I'm diasappointed and mad at times that sometimes when I get my script filled, the meds, although packaged and marked as Watson, etc and look identical, don't seem to have the right level of medication, sometimes none, as some pharmacies. Is it true that some of these "mom an...

The Watson 853 hydrocodone 10-325 I got at Walgreens didn't kill my pain and made me sick! I need to know what is better quality. Is Mallinckordt m367 better than the manufacturer Par/ Endo? I don't live in an area that carries the yellow anymore, and I need pain relief that lasts all month and doesn't make me sick. Please if anyone knows o appreciate an answer. ## Watson does list this tablet as containing 10mgs of Hydrocodone, and 325mgs of Acetaminophen, but they removed the dye from them, so they are white now, and no longer yellow. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache. Overall, there is no specific best tablet, it really depends on what wor...

Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. If they are problematic, you may wish to consult your doctor about trying a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have an extremely painful oral Neuropathy of 3 cranial nerves for three years. I have had to travel out of state to see Specialists in both Oral Facial Pain and Neurology. There is no cure for this problem. Have tried acupuncture and Homeopathy without any improvement. The only thing that can be done is efforts at reducing the neurologic pain, the pain cannot be stopped. I take an antiseizure med Gabapentin (Neurontin) and also brand Valium 5 mg. every 12 hours. While I have health insurance, I have been paying outrageous Copays for Brand Valium. So at my request, the physician wrote for the Generic Diazepam. The pharmacy issued me TEVA, 5 mg. generic valium (Diazepam). Within 48 hours, or before, of switching to generic valium, the Nerve Pain had increased to unbearable levels and be...

Over the past forty years I have been taking oxycodone and valium for different lengths of time, different health issues, and manufactured by many different pharm companies. Until the 1990s the brand names were affordable; $20. for 100 Tylenol #4s, $25. for 100 Percocet 5s. When the drug prices went sky high, generic versions flooded the market, $75. for 100 Miltowns vs. $5. for 100 generic meprobamates; but for every two Miltowns I was used to taking, to get the same physical effect (mild sedation) from the generic version I had to take three times as many. Even my doctor told me that the generics were only about 35% as potent as the brand name, so he told me to ask for the brand name of meprobamate Equinal, which was just as good as Miltown but only cost $18. for 100 tabs. Now, though...

Is the quality of mylan loraxepam as good as others ## Hello, Linn! How are you? It has to meet the same quality and efficacy standards as all other generics on the market under the auspices of the FDA. They warn that it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Can anyone that's taken it chime in with their experiences?

My extremely energetic dog takes Trazodone for calming. Recently the pharmacy refilled with a different manufacter pill which was slightly smaller and made by Zydus. The original RX was manufactured by TEVA. The effects were not the same....the dog was still bouncing off the walls after giving same dosage. I question the pharmacist who told me "it's just what they send us" and "it's the same drug". I disagree. Any info or comments? ## Hello Susan, Both of you are correct. The different manufacturers sell a drug that has the same quality and dosage of the same active ingredient as your pharmacist says, however, this does not mean that all of the inactive igredients are the same between the pills. The inactive ingredients in the medicine is just as important and im...

I have seen so many different opinions and information about companies offering generic oxycodone and the differences in strength, and quality over other generic brands. I have also heard that the FDA allows from 12% to 20% variances in the active ingredient (oxycodone) in their pills. Which if i am understanding this correctly, they can be + or - 12 to 20% of the actual amount of oxycodone per tablet? Can someone with the expertise or knowledge (like a pharmacist or a doctor) explain this to us who have heard this and don't understand? I personally suffer with chronic pain from a construction accident 20 yrs ago in which my back was broken in 7 places along with a lot of muscle and nerve damage which has left me on disability and in chronic pain after 4 surgeries and 7 levels of my...

If you take something every day you expect it to work..I know there all suppose to contain the same but i believe there are fda standards that are the minimum but these companies want to get there cost down by using safe acceptable generic medications but the quality is not there in several generics..I have decided to try the name brand on my next refill because every time i get stuck with one of the generics like andrx, teva, watson and when you explain why you would like a certain generic y...

I have been taking for 60 days and the first presciption from walmart did not help but the second refill is too strong and i cut them in half please explain why they are so different they both say m357 mallinckro ## This has been reported many times with the tablets manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. I can't say with any certainty, but it appears that they may have quality control issues. Have you tried using a different pharmacy, or perhaps asking at Wal-Mart if they can get tablets from a different manufacturer?

My insurance company switched me to this generic pill (Alyacen 1/35) and I have not yet started taking it. I am somewhat concerned about it because I see that it is manufactured in India and I wonder what kind of quality control they have over drug manufacturing in that country. I know it was FDA approved, but how do I know it is safe? ## HI, Donna! Regardless of where they are manufactured, any medication that has been approved by the FDA and is available in the U.S. undergoes the same strict testing and quality assurance protocols as those that are manufactured here. And this is actually manufactured by a fantastic and very reputable company, Glenmark Generics Inc., USA. I have taken several of their medications in the past and never had a problem with any of them. If you're unsur...

Are red 2 mg repam tabs fom India really generic klonopin. had little effect with one tab, took a second and feel very out of it ## Hello, Toni! How are you? That's what they are claimed to be, however, since they are from India, there's no way to confirm this information. They are not governed by U.S. drug laws, so they don't have to report in to the FDA database or meet any quality and efficacy protocols like U.S. medications do. The FDA warns that Klonopin carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Has anyone else tried these tablets? ## They are very weak. They are not clonzapem. Yo get what you pay for from India (actually you don't)

U 94, white bar, is this Xanax? ## Yes, it's a generic for Xanax, it contains 2mgs of Alprazolam. 10/325 generic percocet which is the best manufacturer for chronic pain ## Hi Em, Unfortunately because every brand/generic effects each person differently, the only honest way to go about finding out what works best, is to try out different manufacturers for yourself. That way you can also formulate your own valid opinion. What I can tell you though from reading a lot of posts on this site, is that Actavis (Formerly known as Watson) has been receiving a massive amount of complaints lately regarding the quality and efficacy of their generic Percocet tablets. So that's probably one company you'd want to steer clear from based on their recent track record. I hope this helps! ## I am a 53 year old grandmother, full-time student earning my bachelors in psychology counseling, then on...

My perspective is that as Pharma companies buy up quality companies like Watson, who put the required amount of the main pain-killing ingredient in each tablet, they then put in MORE fillers and less narcotic ingredient. Patently, this is why people are having to take more of these generics and often, due to them receiving less narcotic, end up lapsing into withdrawal. ## Generics do have to meet certain quality and efficacy standards, under U.S. FDA law, just like the name brands do. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ by as much as plus or minus 20%, but in most cases that actually equals a miniscule amount. The FDA warns that narcotics carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dr...

Since all the pharmaceutical companies buy & sell companies regularly and the pharmacies switch to the cheapest generics they can find monthly, has anyone found in the year 2015, a generic Ativan/Lorazepam that is of good quality? I only take it as needed and do not take daily. Just before Christmas I filled a script for generic Ativan and did not feel that it worked anymore than drinking a glass of water. The imprint is Watson, 241/1, white, round. My health insurance will pay for generic only. I am allowed to pay a higher copay in order to get the Brand medication if I wanted but Brand gets costly. However, since I do not take it daily, I'd be willing to pay the extra cost to know when I need it, it will work well. If anyone in 2015 has found a generic Lorazepam that works wel...

Generic Percocet is weak, and having trouble finding brand, I'm a BK amputee. Over 20 yrs with severe nerve bundles on and off meds depending on my situation. Only prescribed 60 10mg/ 325 a month and not a day sooner. I understand the need to not to be over medicated very well. I am now left in pain often since there are days where only taking two pills daily is ridiculous. In my line of work I stand for 3+ hrs. at a time. I have had Percocet 30 mg w/ no APAP . Which I harder find and tougher to get prescribed, we are talking about quality of life and staying in the work force so I can pay my healthcare in the first place. Generics leave me taking more pills a day with worse results which damages liver no matter the amount. And Brand Percocet is not covered by co-pay. Do I find a Dr...
