Hi I just moved to the New York area and I am looking for a new pain management doctor I was in an automobile accident 3 1/2 years ago and I have ruptured disc's in my back. I have been on strong pain medications which really helped but my problem is with me moving and all I need to find a new pain management doctor who will accept cash because I have no insurance. I do have all my records and mri so any help given would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? Most pain management doctors will not accept an uninsured patient, due to the fact that it makes it far too easy for someone to doctor and pharmacy hop. On the rare occasions that a doctor does prescribe, most pharmacies won't fill said prescriptions for the same reason. Have you looked into getting...

I have had 4 nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and allergic reaction to suboxone and fentalyn for three herniated discs lower back. I had to go back to oxycontin. My doctor has stopped taking workers' comp and I can't find another pain management doctor that will prescribe meds. I have been told that an operation cannot guarantee being pain free, and may make me worse, which I can't imagine living with. My life is consumed with living with this, and the government should stay out of the doctor patient relationship or question it for people who do not use drugs recreationally or abuse them. Government is scaring doctors away from treating the people who desperately need them. Does anyone know a pain management doctor in Nassau County, South Shore near Oceanside? Thanks ...

I am trying to find Pain Management in the Albany New York area. I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc disease and have had the injections done, which do not help at all. My neurosurgeon, primary care Dr., and myself have been trying to find a doctor in the area that will help me with pain medication. I didn't think it would be this difficult. I even have the support of my current doctors, but for some reason, its not easy to find one for pain medication. At this point, its not even a matter of insurance. I don't care if I have to pay. I just cant handle this pain. I am actually having surgery(fusion) this coming week and still have to find pain management. Any help would be greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Jay! How are you? I am very sorry that you're in pain. If you...

Are there any doctors in the Ithaca/ Tomkins coutny area tat I can easily get pain/anxiety scripts etc..? ## I'm sorry, but that's not going to be possible for anyone, anywhere anymore! Under the new drug laws, general practitioners and surgeons will only be able to prescribe any such medications for short-term use, such as for a few weeks after someone has had surgery or been in an accident. Anyone requiring them for a longer period of time will have to see a specialist, such as a doctor at a pain management clinic or a behavioral therapist. Learn more prescription drug details here. Are there any questions or comments?

I am a methadone patient and want to travel to New York . Am I able to bring it in the country ? ## Hello, Shivvybiv! How are you? As long as you have a valid prescription from your doctor and keep it in the original labeled container that you receive from your doctor, or pharmacy, the U.S. allows you to bring in up to a 3 month supply. Learn more Methadone details here. But it is a controlled substance here, so as I said, you do have to have the proper documentation from your doctor, if there are any doubts, customs will seize it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I answered this already but left out helpful info. You forgot to mention they won't let known drug addicts into tge US so you can't say it's MMT. Day chronic pain. Also definitely a letter but leave anyth...

Hi, my name is Kim. I just got released from the hospital into a rehabilitation center after having seizures. I fell down two flights of stairs and I need surgery on my right knee and cracked three ribs. I just got home and they only gave me enough pain medication for a couple of days. I have to find a pain management doctor as soon as possible and there's none in my area. I live in Rocky Point, New York. Can you please help me find a pain management doctor that takes Fidelis insurance through Medicaid? It would really be appreciated if you can help me. ## Hi Kim, In my search there doesn't seem to be any pain management doctors in your area of Rocky Point, NY. You will have to travel outside of where you live. There's a lot of them near you. Good luck. Have a great evening.

My pain doctor just informed me that he can longer offer refills on my norco because of it being classed as a schedule 2 drug norcotic now. That means i must go every month now and pay for an office visit. I know that is true in New York but i am not aware of any changes in Alabama law. As I do not have insurance now that would be a huge added expense to me. It would be a big added expensive even if I did with a $60 copay. Does anyone know of this change in legislation that I cant find? ## Hello, Craig! How are you? Yes, this change actually goes into effect at the beginning of October for the entire U.S. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I take oxycondone and soma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My other choice is to fly back to NY. Many thanks ## You will probably need to fly back to New York for now. Hello Everyone. I moved to Trenton, NJ from San Francisco. My doctor there helped me with Methadone and morphine. I am looking for a doctor in New Jersey, or close by, maybe new york or phily who prescribes methadone for pain. I have taken methadone in SF for over a year, and I have bottles and I am sure my doctor there can send my new doctor my medical records, but I am not sure whom to contact. Most doctors here say they do not prescribe medication for pain. I am probably calling the wrong doctors. However, in many parts of the country it is much easier to get methadone than morphine or oxycontin for pain, and I think this is helpful to me because methadone is not addictive for me. can anyone help me with the name of a doctor? I would be so grateful. I am so worried about this that I ...
