Melatonin False Positive

I just came back from my doctor and was discharged for a urine screen that said I was positive for suboxone. I have never in my life taken suboxone. I do take melatontin..xanax..and percocet. Could any of these drugs cause this? ## Will melatonin cause someone to fail a drug test? I'm having trouble sleeping and have to test in a few days for parole. I'm thinking about taking melatonin to help but not sure if it will cause me to fail?

I have MS and have been on Norco for 4 years. My dr. said I tested positive for Suboxone. I didn't know what that was. Melatonin is the only new thing in my system. Could this be possible? ## Can melatonin or meclizine cause a false positive for valum or atavan? ## I believe melatonin messes up a drug test. I had one the other day and it was positive for Gabapentin which I did not take. Why would I take gabapentin if I’m on suboxone? I have been reading the internet searching for answers ever since cause this is blowing my mind. The only thing I took in addition to my suboxone was melatonin.

My daughter was given a hair test and it came back positive for methamphetamines. Completely different compounds. However, Antidepressants, especially Prozac,Wellbutrin and Trazodone are highly documented in causing false positives for amphetamines.

I have now tested positive 2 different times for Fentanyl which I have never taken. I'm prescribed Trazodone, Gabapentin, Suboxone and Bupropion. Is there any reason that this could happen, or should I be worried that I'm being drugged? ## I have also tested false-positive for Fentanyl on a mouth swab test for DCS. I am not on suboxone, and have not taken or done any, but my drug test keeps coming up positive for it. Is there anything such, other medications, stuff in food or drink, etc. that could be causing this false reading? Please help. ## It is possible with some other medications, for instance if you have taken anything that contains other synthetic opiates, such as Oxycodone or Hydrocodone. I am on Zubsolv and my recent urine test showed methamphetamine. I have never done that! How is this possible? I take Zubsolv, melatonin, fish oil, vitamin D, and folic acid and I use e-cigarettes. I haven't taken gabapentin, it made me ridiculously tired when I was prescribed it back in December so I stopped it. Recently I tested positive for gabapentin and can't figure out why...i take lexapro, lamictal, imitrex, maxalt, suboxone, melatonin, benadryl as needed, ibuprofen as needed and I've had a sinus infection so I was taking otc cold and sinus medicines, one was a daytime formula, a nighttime and decongestant. ..Please tell me what's causing this ## I am on methadone and tested positive for the gabapentin and I know I did not take it. can melatonin or depression medication cause a drug test to be positive for suboxone ## My answer to that question would be no, as the human body produces Melatonin naturally. Supplementing this is strictly used to boost your Melatonin to levels that your body hasn't been producing on its own accord. As far as depression medication goes, it is unlikely; but with some drug tests it seems as though anything is likely to show up no matter what you took. So I wouldn't count it out just yet. I don't take anything except Gabapentin. I just showed up positive for Buprenorphine. How? Omg I'm freaking out!!! How does this happen?? ## YES!!! I took melatonin and had a positive on my urine test for suboxone and this was the only none prescription I had taken so I knew that had to be it. I didn't take the melatonin that night and went back the next day and tested clean. I also had 5 nurses standing around with me as we crushed up one of the melatonin and dissolved it in water and tested it and it came up POSITIVE. As one of the nurses said, the melatonin made the test go crazy.

My son has tested positive 3 times for thc and I was wondering if any of the following medicines can cause false positives: Singular 10mg + Adderall Rx 20mg + Melatonin 5 mg + Vyvanse 20mg? ## Absolutely not! None of this medications would make THC show up. Obviously he smoking marijuana. Check out your son a little closer. You can also google more on this. Good luck!!

Can melatonin cause elevated PTT (partial thromboplastin time), AND can it cause a false positive lab test for lupus anticoagulant? ## PATIENT SEEN PRE-OP FOR POSSIBLE ENDOSCOPY/COLONOSCOPY AND PROCEDURE IN HIS 70'S FOR FIRST TIME FOUND TO HAVE ELEVATED AND ISOLATED PTT. THIS IS FIRST DESPITE MULTIPLE PRIOR SURGERIES, ETC. AND ??RELATED TO STARTING MELATONIN IN DOSES UP TO 5 MG AT NIGHT WITHIN LAST 9 MONTHS? NO OTHER CHANGES IN MEDS TO EXPLAIN.

I take 10 mg Lexapro, 3 mg Melatonin, and Loratab 10/500 daily and tested pos for Benzo.. . Can any of these medications cause the false positive results? ## Is there any "common" way, (like lots of water or vitamins) to flush benzos out of your system within 20 days? I took 1-2mg of xanax for a week and I have a UA with my suboxone Dr in 20 days. I found out (internet) just how dangerous the xanax can be when taken with suboxone so I wouldn't do that again but yikes, I have already had a false pos for eating poppy seeds, and a false pos for THC! I take trazodone every night as well as sparingly Advil pm and sometimes melatonin or benadryl. Can any of these show a false positive for ambien? ## Maybe it was the Tylenol PM that you took that would make it seem like it was an Ambien. So they really have tests that can tell whether you took an Ambien or not? MO ## i attend an out patient program i see the lab form they make you sign. it's a 12 panel urine test. i took a few Ambien will it come up or can it give a false positive for opiates or amphetamines??

I failed a drug test for a job and I showed positive for methadone and morphine, but I take neurontin, tramadol, atorvastatin, losartan, and 70/30 insulin novolin 1000 milligram. What caused me to show positive? And can I test positive for neurontin? ## I had a urine drug screen for my Suboxone clinic and it showed up as Neurontin, but I only take Suboxone and melatonin. I tested positive for oxazepam. I take no prescription medications. I have been taking cranberry tablets, cystex, ibuprofen and benadryl. Is there anything that could cause that because I haven't taken anything like that. ## I do testing for cps. Will benadryl. I take soma, lortab, trazadone, buspar, Vistaril, Zoloft, melatonin, valerian root, naproxen, and occasionally Benadryl. I showed up benzos in my drug test and my doctor uses a good test, so I am puzzled. Would any of these make me show for having benzos on my test. ## Yes trazadone is the culprit ..happened to me a few times .. Please answer my question Asap. I took a drug screen and it came back with my Adivant, Vyvanse, which i have prescription for. I was recently given a urine drug screen, followed by confirmation testing which detected 7-aminoclonazepam (Klonopin metabolite). I do NOT take Klonopin, so how is this possible? I am currently taking Methadone 49 mg once daily for Fibromyalgia pain management, Xanax (alprazolam) 2 mg twice daily for anxiety, and Lopressor (metoprolol) 25 mg once daily for Sinus Tachycardia. I only take 5mg of a Melatonin supplement, but my toxicology test is coming back as positive for benzodiazepenes. Is that possible? ## Hmmm, it shouldn't - your body produces melatonin naturally anyways. Did you take any other supplement or medications recently? Perhaps Valium (Diazepam)?
