100+ Topics FoundMy job almost forces us to get the flu shot which i think is stupid and don't agree with. Is there anything i can take to counter the flu shot and make it as though it wasn't given? ## Hello, Spots! How are you? No, there isn't. Would you rather get the shot or risk your life, since the flu can be fatal? Please don't think I mean to be rude, but I am just laying things honestly on the line and out in the open for you. My fiancé has to get it every year for his job and, since I had congestive heart failure 5 years ago, my doctor insists that I get it, too. It makes perfect sense, to be honest, anything that could cause my lungs to fill up with fluid, could lead to another CHF… and my fiancé would hate to put me at risk, by not having one and being exposed ...

This is not available in the U.S. What has her doctor said about her weight? How much food does she eat and what type? There could be some health issue at play that needs addressed. I had a mild Heart attack in 1998. After conducting Engiography , a team of Doctors decided for oral medicines . Still now I am taking the following madicines. 1. Cardace 2.5mg, 2.Metolar 50 Mg, 3. Clopilet 75mg and 4. Pansa 40. I had no cardiac or Hypertensive symtems after that. Later I became Diabetic since 2009 and I am taking Pioglit MF 15 since then. now I had pain on my legs mostly below the knees while walking. After walking for a few yards , I am forced to stop for a while. Then after a minute I am able to walk again and so. One of my Doctors(in my relation) suggested to take Nurobion Forte tabs. Is that ok or not? I am taking only 1 tab per day(since this week). Should I continue it, increase the dose or switch over to some other madicine? ...K.Ranjit 61 years old ## Neurobion...

What type of ear pain are you having? This can help with it, but if your problem is caused by an infection, then this will not clear that up, since it contains no antibiotic. Here in the state of KY we are being forced to either go to pain clinic and endure shots in your area of pain and you are given little pain meds or stay with your family Dr and be tapered off your pain meds. I have been on pain meds for several years I have chronic pain in my back and legs how can we stop what is being done.I'm 61 I need some type of pain relief but big brother is making it impossible to keep getting what you need for pain and suggestions on how to change the laws on this!
Filed under Pain ReliefAfter 4 months of being on xarelto for pulmonary embolism was taken off the med due to bleeding. I was also taken off my normal 81 mg. aspirin which I take for heart disease. Neither my hemotologist, cardiologist, nor my gastro doc, (Crohn's disease ) have suggested I take an X-ray to determine if the clots are still there. This is very vexing. I am 67, athletic, trim and eat healthy. Anyone else experience similar situations? ## @JD, Sorry to hear about the bleeding on Xarelto. I did notice that bleeding was listed as a general side effect on NIH.gov, but I suppose that can be a pretty common occurrence with these types of medications in general. All I can say is that if it were me facing a similar situation, I'd put an emphasis on getting that X-ray done for the sole sake of h...
Yesterday, I had an appointment with a brand new doctor that is in another state. He wrote me a prescription for a month supply of my medication and after stopping at and calling approximately 35 different pharmacies attempting to get the medication filled, I was given the name of a pharmacy by a very kind gentleman that had experienced the same problem. The medication I take is unfortunately very hard to get a prescription filled for if your doctor is not within your state and I live basically on the border of two other states, MD and PA. I called the pharmacy I was given the name of and indeed they did agree to fill the prescription. I inquired about acceptance of my insurance before going to the pharmacy and they stated that yes they did accept insurance and they would run the medica...
Recently my mentally ill mother told off her case worker and in retaliation my mother was told in order to get her meds NOW she will have to go to a partial care program or she won't get her psy meds no more, which she never had to do in the last four years, it feels like blackmail and extortion in a way what can I do my mom is really mentally ill and last time she was off her meds she heard voices and pulled a rack with a TV on herself and had to go to the hospital ## Who is forcing her to do this to get her meds? The insurance company, the Doctor, the State? You said she went off on her case worker? What exactly is she taking, if you don't mind me asking? It's not blackmail or extortion per se because no doctor anywhere is obligated to accept or continue seeing patients, l...
I’m 35 years old. I was placed on clozapine at the age of 13. I managed to get my life together, became stable enough to become an inspiration to others by becoming a teacher's assistant teaching barista coffee skills. Thing’s completely fell apart as soon as I met a new doctor this year. She forced the decision to change to lurasidone and nothing could stop her. I even tried to get help from my parents. She took the decision way too lightly and destroyed everything I achieved and it was extremely hard for me to get where I was, as I had to drop out of high school because of clozapine. I saw the side effects of lurasidone and I tried to protect myself but she’s a clever bully. I eventually gave in and tried lurasidone to respect my parents as she convinced them. It...
My pain doctor was out of the country for 2 months. I was seeing her P.A. who was amazing. I hadn't planned to stay with this new pain doctor anyway she was horrible. Anyway, I called for over a week to ask the nurse what I should do because I couldn't keep the fentanyl patches secured and used more of them, I was on my last one. I called everyday and left a message. She calls me back saying I couldn't get any refills until my appt. In 4 more days. I pleaded with her that I'd read the leaflet and feared the extent of the withdrawl. No answer. So I took some old (expired) meds that I had so I could fight the withdrawl. I brought them with me and told the P.A. While I was there what I did. She sympathized and seemed to know there were issues like this. I found out that day...
I have been seeing the same painmanagment Dr 3years. They were forced by NJ family care to discharge me because I pay cash to see him. He is very reasonable with his offfice visit fee. The meds I can't afford so I use my family care. All of a sudden after 3years they telling me there's a problem. One 38yr old woman has been there since she's 16 and Dr was forced to discharge her. He was told if he continues to see Medicaid or family care pts he'll be charged with fraud. How can they force me to change abduction allow me to see who I want if I pay ## Hi, Neecee! I'm sorry about the problem you're having. The main concern with cash paying patients is that they may be doing so to try to avoid being detected, because they are doctor hopping to get more pain medicatio...
I was prescribed a quantity of 140 10mg oxycodone and 60 40mg oxycontin a month for chronic and severe back pain. I lost my job and insurance which caused me not to be able to afford my prescription for oxycontin which was around $750. I could only afford to get 14 of them. I had to deal with a little more pain than usual, but I was able to get through the month because I was able to lay in bed most of the time and go through minor withdrawls. When I went in to see the Doctor the next visit and told him what happened and how I could no longer afford the oxycontin, he said I broke the contract and then would only prescribe me 180 of the 10mg oxycodone.( I later realized that I did not break any contract, my insurance did!! ) While I was there I told him I would be starting a new job and ...
Levosimendan (INN) /livosamndn/ is a calcium sensitizer used in the management of acutely decompensated congestive heart failure. It is marketed under the trade name Simdax (Orion Corporation). Overall the drug has a two fold mechanism of action. It leads to greater ionotrophy by increasing the calcium sensitivity as it binds to Troponin and this results in a greater positive iontrophic force. Secondly, the drug is able to open ATP sensitive potassium channels in vascular smooth muscle cells,...
I remember a really pleasantly distinctive ointment which my mother used on us. It was called 555 ointment. It was in a small green glass jar. I thought I'd heard that it was made at the pharmacy we used in Schenectady NY. Does anyone have any recollection of this? ## Hello, Francene! How are you doing? I can't find anything listed under the name 555 Ointment, or other variations of that, so I am forced to assume that it was likely a regional product that was specially compounded by that pharmacy for their customers. Things like this were available all over the U.S., some required a doctor's prescription, and some didn't, but they were all different, and had their own name variations depending on location, and use. Magic Mouthwash was the name for one very common one tha...
metformin smells ## Yes, Metformin is well known to have an odor and it can vary, somewhat, from manufacturer to manufacturer. Some of them seem to smell like old fish and others like dirty sweaty socks. It really doesn't make it a very appealing medication to use and it has so nauseated some people, that they were forced to quit using it. The odor is especially prominent in the new instant release versions of the medication. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## My Metformin has a distinct grape smell. Its not unpleasant at all *smiles ## That's good to know because mine smells and tastes like grape also. I was concerned that the drug had been altered accidentally in some way. I really like the grape taste compared to what is was before!!

## If you want the answer to the false readings that Zantac gives on drug panels, all that you have to do is call the company that makes Zantac. Boehringer Ingelheim, phone number (203)-798-9988. I just Talked to a man named Ed, who connected me to the company nurse that told me, yes, Zantac causes false readings for amphetamine. She also told me, that she has to report all complaints to the FDA. What this means, that if enough people call in and complain, then maybe the FDA will force the company to put a warning label on the box. Good luck. Respectfully, Andy
An ATNAA (Antidote Treatment Nerve Agent Autoinjector) is any of a variety of autoinjectors in use with the US Armed Forces.
