Today I was informed by my pain specialist in Knoxville Tn. I am being booted out. I have substantial medical proof of need for chronic pain. 5 yrs. of perfect urine , no missed appts. etc. A nurse practitioner pushed my buttons in the wrong manner. Told me I had 3 warnings for short medicine. Highest shortage was 7 pills. I've never asked for and early refill. 2 failed surgeries in my lower back , spinal cord damage in cervical as my arm is numb 70% of the time. I was supposed to have surgery after the holidays to correct this. I am 63yrs. old and without a compassionate Dr. I will loose most quality of life. I am not demanding certain medicines as many do. My daily dosage for 4 yrs. has been 4 10mg. IR Oxycodone and 1 12 hr. Morphine 15mg. 2x per day. Is there anybody in the Knoxv...

Last Tuesday my (along with a lot of others Im sure) pain management center was raided by the FBI (also other clinics) and the staff were always very strict (Current MRI's, Blood Work, UA's every time) and have always followed the rules. Also (local paper said) my primary care DR.'s office has been closed because he apparently was involved (local paper said he has got a target letter from the government) and Now I'm left with no primary DR. Or Pain Management Dr. it's also my understanding (local paper) that the FBI has all my records. I have multiple injuries (I almost died from a few years ago) from a auto accident. Extreme Back,Neck,Leg pain and have MRI's to prove this but I called the FBI and the lady who answered said someone would get back in touch but I h...

KNOXVILLE tn dr named dr. Sarlo on Asheville hwy ## I posted about this doctor because he doesn't take insurance and I thought the laws changed on that? I called him and it is $400.00 for you first appt and I can't remember how much after that. The weird thing is, he asked me to bring my insurance cards in and when I asked why since he doesn't take insurance he replied back in a rude way saying " it's my office I can do what I want to do!" I have diabetic neuropathy, lupus, and fibromyalgia. I'm needing a doctor that will write for a long acting med and something for breakthrough pain. I have been taking OTC meds for the last few years for the pain and its no longer working. I've also heard about a family doctor on Kingston pike that treats pain but can not...

In 2012 I had a spinal fusion that didn't go well. I'm partially paralyzed on my left side. I've been going to a pain management clinic & they've had me on oxycodone 10mg 4 times a day & OxyContin 10mg 3 times a day. I've never had a pill count that was off & always passed the UA. Suddenly in November I'm 8 short on my OxyContin & my results come back with hydro in my system. We were renting a room to a young woman & she moved to Texas in November btw did you ever notice how much a 10mg white hydro looks like oxycodone? Obviously I got kicked out of the program. I'm in constant pain & they told me to ween myself off the meds. Even if I could ween myself off of meds in a month that I've been on for 3 years, I'm still in pain. Af...

I just relocated and have been on oxycodone for over 15 years with no issues. Just want to continue on this as it's worked with no side effects. Already had the epidural, trigger shots, tens unit, etc routes. Management is what I am looking for and an understanding Dr. Thank you. ## Hasn't your doctor given you any names of doctors in your new city? My guess is you'll be S.O.L. Doctors are all scared to death of the DEA. The CDC puts a notice out for recommendations on what the limit should be per day... these are recommendations, not laws! Doctors need to stand up for their positions and now cower down to what the government tells them to do because a bunch of people abuse drugs it doesn't mean everyone does. ## There is no way to guarantee that any doctor will prescrib...

Does anyone know of a suboxone doctor that takes insurance? I work and have insurance. I really need help before I lose my job. ## Hello, Lizawood! How are you? You can check the website Suboxone.com click here to look for doctors in your area. It also includes their contact information, so you can call and see if they accept your insurance and are taking new patients. This is a narcotic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Have you tried Active Pain Treatment (865) 246-0143. If you go you will be the only insured person than myself going. Expect to go into big time sticker shock, we have BC/BS, and it ran in the thousands. Over $1,000 for 16 ...

Looking for a doc who will prescribe pain meds without too much fuss. I suffer from arthritis, bursitis and sciatica ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, the days of doctors being able to prescribe like that are gone. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require long-term, ongoing treatment for chronic pain, you'll need to see a specialist. The best thing to do would be to set yourself up with a new PCP and then have them refer you to someone. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

Surely there is a physician that understands Pain "Management" in the area. It is not just providing scripts, U/A's and treating patients like they are criminals. I have been a chronic pain patient off and on for over 20 years. I have voluntarily quit using opiates on several occasions. I remained opiate free each time until the pain really started interfering with the quality of life. I made it over 2 years on 1 occasion. I would like to find a physician that practices true pain management. I am 66 and have little, if any, respect for the fresh-faced PA's who sit behind their desks and threaten to kick you out because a pill count is 2 or 3 short. Sorry, I was in excruciating pain. It's not like I am overdosing especially since their policy is 10mg is all they write...

My doctor absolutely won't prescribe anything other than steroids and muscle relaxers. Every step is agony. Does anyone know a doctor in Knoxville who still prescribes pain medication? I have a current MRI. Help! ## Hello, Maully! How are you doing? Sorry that you're in pain. As to getting pain medications, if you require them on a long-term ongoing basis, then you'll need to see a pain management specialist. There were some new regulations put in place this year that severely restrict what general practitioners and surgeons can prescribe, how much they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it and how long they can prescribe it. Have you asked your current doctor if they can refer you to someone? That would likely be the easiest way to get in somewhere and get the help you n...

Need to find a pain doc that write roxycoden, I've tried alot of other pain meds and.roxys are the only way i.get pain releaf ## If you truly have a diagnosed condition, that can be assessed by CT scans, MRI's, lab findings, or other devices such as ultrasound, then you probably do need a Schedule Two narcotic. In receiving a Schedule two, the mindset now is that you will probably be on them for an extended period of your life. In the past, in order to make patients comfortable, doctors were prescribing medications like OxyContin, Roxicodone, Duragesic Patches, etc. for pain alleviation. If you are having sporadic or afflictions that cannot be measured scientifically, then the chances of getting a CII are limited. Even hydrocodone CIII, is coming under scrutiny. Now, trust me, i...

After 18 years of filling my methadone prescription in Sevierville, TN., I can no longer find a pharmacy that will fill it because my Doctor is in another city than where I live. Does anyone know of a pharmacy in Knoxville, TN or Sevierville that will fill it? ## I'm sure you've probably got it figured out by now or at least I hope you have but just for future reference a friend I used to hang with goes to a pain clinic in Knoxville and he always gets his methadone filled at a Food City in Newport. ## What was the reason they used to not fill it anymore? Especially after 18 years!
