I have been on 100mg. of methadone for 5 years now and am going to be in hospital for and am going to need some serious pain medication. I know from previous experience that other pain meds do not work and take away pain when you have been taking methadone. What can I take for serious pain relief & how long do I have to be off of methadone for other narcotics to work???

I just started taking Lyrica after being weened off Cymbalta. Cymbalta is horrible and would never, EVER, recommend this medication. Anyway, I suffer from depression also and having severe pain doesn't help. I am wondering about trying Vyvance to treat narcolepsy. I currently take dextrostat 30 mg 3 times a day and since it is now generic dextrostat, it is absolutely not effective at all.
