after taking 4 tablets of telday 20 mg , my 80 year old mother is feeling drowsy for next ten days. She already had a neurosurgery 13 yeaqrs and is under medication for 13 years ## Telday contains the active ingredient Telmisartan, it is an ARB that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure. Drowsiness can be a common side effect of the medication, along with dizziness, headache and stomach pain and the side effects will usually last for about 4 to 6 weeks, while her body adjusts to the medication, before they begin to taper off. In addition, if she was used to her blood pressure being high, then the very act of lowering it will cause her to feel some drowsiness and fatigue, until her body gets used to it. You said she took 4 tablets, do you mean she stopped taking it after tha...

Hello. I'm on day 3 of Celexa 20mgs and after my first dose, I woke up the next morning feeling better than I have in almost a year! But yesterday and today I feel, well, blah.... Every night when I take Celexa, about an hour later my stomach is in knots and it goes on for about 2 hours and then I get sleepy and go to bed. I awake the next morning and feel drowsy but coffee seems to help. My concern is, my doctor told me opposite of what I've read others say in that he says this medicine will not take 2 or more weeks to "kick in", he says I'll notice effects fairly quickly!? I don't feel as obsessive and my anxiety side effects aren't as debilitating but I do feel strange and very unlike myself now. Will this get better? After reading many threads, the last t...

Ok so I went to the hospital yesterday because I started to notice bumps were showing up on my arm. They were itching really bad. The Doctor told me that I did not have scabies and it seemed to be similar to a mosquito bite. He gave me two pills to relieve the itching. I was told they would make me feel drowsy about 30 minutes later. So it's the next day and other than getting up to use the restroom I've been completely exhausted all day. I tried to watch tv but about two minutes into the show I'm dozing off. I'm wondering if it was the pills but I don't know exactly what they were. They were 2 oblong (capsule) pills that were tan on one side and navy blue on the other.. I don't remember and words being on them but they were not gel pills or the ones that dissolv...

Pls advice. ## Hello, Amoy! How are you? Those can be normal side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA. You may also experience nausea, headache, dry mouth, mood swings and weight changes. They should go away, in a few weeks, once your body adjusts to the medication. I have suffered from insomnia for years. Tried one sleeping pill after another. Azor is not prescribed for sleeping as such but it did help for me for a while. After 6 months I found that I needed a higher dose to make me drowsy enough to sleep. But the side effect was drowsiness the next morning and headaches. It made me lethargic the next day and my productivity went down the drain. I accidently discovered a video clip on cannabis oil on youtube. I tried it out. (Cooked in olive oil) I never had a problem sleeping again. Never felt lethargic the next morning. I generally felt much healthier over all. And the spot of skin cancer I had disappeared in 3 months. Cannabis is unfortunately illegal mainly because if it was not many pharmaceutical companies would lose big business. Please edu...

I have occasional anxiety so I do not need to take the medication on a daily basis. If the side affects are drowsiness and dizziness, how can this be okay for me to take through the day? If I take it at bedtime will it continue to work through the next day? ## If you take hydrooxyzine at bedtime, it may well still have some effect the next day. However, for anxiety, it usually is most effective at the time one is having problems. Check with your doctor who prescribed it, and tell him/her about the drowsiness it causes you. Maybe she/he could try a lower dose for you. That mild sedating/drowsy effect is one way it hydroxyzine calms folks, though. ## There are also other antianxiety medications that you could try, such as BuSpar (Buspirone), it doesn't cause the same continual fatigue...

I'm a student pilot, and I had my first flight yesterday. Awhile into the flight after we hit some turbulence and started practicing descents I almost lost it. I was sweating profusely and felt extremely nauseous. So much so that my instructor had to take over the controls and open an air vent for me. Anyways, I mentioned to him that I wanted to take Dramamine before the next flight but he told me that in the eyes of the FAA it is illegal to take any sort of medication while piloting an airplane. That's understandable since your functions may be impaired by certain drugs. But I keep reading that Bonine is non-drowsy, and I remember taking it before going in a boat and did not feel any fatigue. Can anybody else speak about this? Since Bonine is non drowsy, can it be taken prior t...

My son has been diagnosed with ADHD and OCD. He tried Zoloft and it was like someone shot him full of speed. My doctor and I discussed the possiblity he could be bipolar. He first tried him on Abilify. After two pills, he went into a manic episode so we took him off the meds. We then tried Seroquell. He took half of a 25 mg pill within two hours he was so drowsy he could not keep his head up. The next day, he was very tired and complained of headaches. He developed diarrhea. We went to the movie theater and go very upset. He was scared of the movie and wanted to leave. He sat by a big man and it made him very nervous. We had to get up and leave because he was so upset. These are not normal behaviors for him. Can he get like this after one dose of Seroquell? ## Yes, while these are not c...

I have recently started going to pain management and the doctor has put me on buprenorphine. Insurance won't pay for it, so the next thing is Zubsolv. I don't care for this drug, it makes me very drowsy and doesn't really do alot for my pain. In addition to that, most of what I find on the Internet about zubsolv is that it is for opiate dependence. I'm looking for those that have used it for pain....anyone? ## Zubsolv contains Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so it should also work for you. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Hello, I've been prescribed 5/325 due to chronic Back pain from degenerative disc disease (DDD). The meds make me feel really focused and alert, not drowsy. Now before I see a bunch of threads to tell me to stay clear of these drugs, I am not here to discuss addiction. I seeking out answers to two questions: why/how does it make me feel more focused and what alternatives are out there which don't give me this "high alert" feeling? Preferably something that isnt a CII drug. What is in hydrocodone that would make someone feel the opposite of drowsy? Its hopeless if I'm in pain after a long day because if I take a pill then I would be up all night and destroyed the next day. Which will eventually cause a chain reaction making me want to take it just to keep me awake. I...

Last night my friend was given a tablet that looked extremely similar to a yellow 5mg valium tablet but because it was so alike my friend took it without examining any markings to verify it was a 5mg valium and being used to valium, just taking the 1 would not have had much effect at all, but my friend didn't realize it was making her very drowsy and she couldn't fight the effects and it put her to sleep deeply. It must of had a sedative in it and my proof that it was given to my friend for the sole reason to put my friend asleep is because now the next morning (today) she has £80 pounds missing from her purse. So my question is what kind of tablet looks very much like a diazepam and could have that kind of effect?

A generic for Centrax - I think it is also available under the brand name Verstran? Does anyone else have more information on this drug? ## Quick question. I used to take xanax to calm down and it worked magic. Tried prazepam 10 mg tonight for the first time. 1 did not work so I took 1 more, yet that still does not seem to do it. If anyone is familiar with it could you advise whether 1 more would do it or if it can be mixed with herbal sleeping pills safely? I need to be up for work in 5 hours, so would also like to know when is the safe deadline to take it without feeling drowsy the next day? ## I would not suggest taking more than prescribed, due to the risk of possible overdose. I am inquiring about double dosing loratab 10 mg' s. I have taken 1 every 6 hours as my Dr. prescripted. I asked him if in times of intolerable pain if I could double the dose, He advised against it. However; I tried this anyway, needless to say really, I CAUTION YOU DO NOT DRIVE UNDER THIS CONDITION!! After about 30 minutes I felt like I was laying on floating cloud suspended in the air. I took the loritabs at 7pm, last thing I remember was getting real drowsy then waking up at about 10:30 the next morning. I told my Dr. about what I'd done. He started with the other harmful effects, such as liver and heart damage and other vital organs. His biggest concern was !!ADDICTION!! Now I only take what I'm prescribed. I will also say that was the best pain free night of what I rem...
