Cluster Headache

I am suffering cluster headaches ever since my college years til now & I'm 31, yrs. old and a mother of 1. I take Mefenamic Acid capsules and Ibuprofens. But none of these worked to eventually stop the pain and pulsating around my eye or temple for several times within a week in long hours with extreme intensities. I suffer from cluster headaches and I was put back on Amitriptyline 10MG for this. I just found out I am pregnant yesterday. Do I need to stop taking this medicine? I am a 47 year old male and have suffered from cluster headaches for 25 years, without any medication really helping. Someone recently recommended verapamil My doctor hadn't heard of it. Does it help, and how is it meant to be taken- daily, or only when headaches occur? ## Yes, I take verapamil for migraines. Don't know if it works for cluster headaches, but if your doc hasn't heard of it there's at least a decent chance he also misdiagnosed you as cluster headaches vs migraine... Having daily cluster type headaches with vision loss and pain at forhead and back of neck. Noticed since starting Comtan but they were infrequent to now daily. Has anyone had this problem? I suffered a Severe Traumatic Brain Injury about 2 years ago. I continue to have severe headaches. Every single day. A permanent headache My neuro says that with my kind of injury this is not uncommon. This is not a "migraine". Closest to a "cluster headache". Without medication, it just keeps getting worse - feels like a brain freeze. Anyway,. I have been taking 10/325 Norco for a little over a year now. I started at 2 per day, that worked pretty good, then I started having to take 3 per day to be somewhat pain free. Now, that doesn't do it most days. I guess I'm building a tolerance. I have had cluster headaches for about 20 years, and was recently prescribed Symbicort for asthma. I just began taking it, and am getting severe headaches in the same area of my clusters. Are there any contraindications against taking Symbicort if you have clusters. The Symbicort is greatly helping with the asthma, but the headaches are terrible. ## I didn't find anything stating that it was contraindicated, but it can cause headaches as a side effect. 52 year old male. Never diagnosed with Covid. For a week I've been extremely fatigued in the morning accompanied with terrible pain, stiffness, and the worst headache pain I've ever had above my right eye. Extremely fatigued until the pain lessens. Happens twice at about 2 am and 10 am, lasts about an hour then slowly the pain is gone. But these actions repeated the following day at 3pm and 6pm. I have been prescribed this for cluster headaches. I am also a heart patient. This does not seem to do the trick for breaking the cycle. What would u recommend? ## Hello, Mike! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. What medications do you take for your heart condition? Some of them can cause headaches as side effects, as reported by the FDA. So it could be that one of them needs to be adjusted or changed, rather than trying something to treat the headaches. Many of them can also cause dehydration, which can worsen the problem.

Finally, I have found something that relieves my terrible cluster headaches. I have had them for over a year, been on verapimil (which did not work), and suffer horribly.
