Can You Take Norco With Ibuprofen

I'm taking Norco 10/325 for a hip replacement but I have a bad toothache so should I take Tylenol or ibuprofen for the pain until I can get to the dentist next week? ## Hello, Diane! How are you? I had ankle surgery yesterday and they put 2 plates and 10 screws in my ankle. I was prescribed Tylenol 3s and ibuprofen 800mg when I went to the urgent care the day before surgery and was prescribed Valium 5mg and Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen 10-325 after surgery. Would it be safe for me to take a Valium 5mg and Tylenol 3 together for the pain to hold me over until it’s time for me to take my Norco again in 3 hours? Please advise. Just an FYI. I woke up in the hospital on a respirator after my teenage son found me. This was not intentional. I developed pneumonia. Oh! I woke up deaf. I couldn't hear for two days. My kidneys failed and I was on dialysis for 8 weeks. My overall hospital stay was almost four weeks. My family noticed a marked difference in my personality. Two years later I'm finally more like myself. I still take my pain meds, I developed an allergy to ambien and was told to never take any kind of anti inflammatory again! IMO most OD's are combos. I have what the street calls the trinity. Hydro, sometimes Oxy, muscle relaxers, and two different benzo's. Having real bad ear infection pain, I took two 5/325 norco and ibuprofen 800 for inflammation. Should i not have taken them at the same time? ## Hello, Purdy! How are you? But, as reported by the FDA, you may experience more side effects than usual, such as more intense nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and stomach pain. Hi, I got 10 teeth extracted yesterday morning. For pain I was taking hydrocodone, and it makes me so sick with an awful lot of nausea and throw up. How many ibuprofen and acetaminophen equal 1 Vicodin ## Vicodin doesn't contain any Ibuprofen, so you honestly can't really compare it with this medication. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug, whilst Hydrocodone is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from codeine. Since neither of these are in the same drug class, it would be like comparing apples to bananas. Anyone on a double narcotic regimen? Want or need to talk about chronic pain?? ## I'm not on a double narcotic, but I do take Lortab for chronic back pain. I just had eye surgery and was given Norco (4x a day) and Motrin (3x a day) to take for pain, can I take them at the same time or do I need to space them out? ## Hi Chris, Hope you're recovering well from the surgery. From what I could gather, there are no drug interactions listed between Norco (acetaminophen + hydrocodone) and Motrin (ibuprofen). So I don't see why it wouldn't be ok to take them both together if that's what you need to do in order to achieve adequate pain relief. Also as long as it's the same doctor who prescribed both, I think that he/she would've informed you up front of any possible risks involved with doing so if there really were serious consequences to be had. Can i take 600 mg of ibuprofen along with a 375/10 norco and a 500 tylenol? I am using this to treat migraines that wont go away. ## Combining all of these can be risky, according to the NIH, especially in relation to possible liver damage, liver failure, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach ulceration. Have you consulted your doctor? There are other medications you can try to treat or prevent migraines. Have you explored the possibility of dietary triggers?

My husband suffers from sciatica and has suffered from it for at least 10 years. He has had 2 major invasive back surgeries to release pressure off of his sciatic nerve. The second surgery got him off of the floor and enabled him to function but only with the help of Norco and Tylenol and Ibuprofen. For some reason there is NO Norco available in Houston or the surrounding suburbs at this time. I was prescribed Norco 5/325 for severe dental pain. And I mean severe. Day three absolutely no sleep. I have a dentist appointment Thursday. However, I've literally been going crazy with pain. The Norco is doing nothing. I did take 400 mg. Of ibuprofen two hours after my Norco dose. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The only relief is constantly swishing ice water. Honestly, I'm a little disgusted with the Dentist's at this point. When you call and explain your dire situation and I mean dire the staff should squueze you in or adjust their schedule. Hi. I’m on seroquel, gabapentin, methylphenidate, klonopin, and lithium. I had surgery. Had filled out all the meds I take. After surgery I was on norco for 4 or 5 days. Still hurting and severely inflamed. I called the surgeons office. He gave me Tramadol 50 mg every 4 hours and ibuprofen. After about 4 days I started having tremors. Face and neck twisting stretching kind of thing. My left thigh is still numb and leg was very heavy. Also constant clearing my throat and non stop humming or singing or just making grunting noises. Hydrocodone is too expensive. What can I use that is similar? ## That is the generic active ingredient, the name brands it's used in, if coupled with Acetaminophen would be Vicodin, Lortab and Norco and, if coupled with Ibuprofen it would be Vicoprofen. I had twins 10 months ago and since have had intense neck and upper back pain. Had an mri that found degenerative disc and facet disease, a bulging and hernaited disc etc. Have been getting norco from gyno for past 6months and it helps so much during the day so i can take care of twins. Been to two pain docs who will only give ibuprofen and muscle relaxers. I feel like they are not listening to me. Last one said im too young for the hydrocodone or surgery! Thats not acceptable to me. Any one have luck with docs in this area?

However, there are a number of different options on the market if you were to look for an alternative pain medication to Lortab (hydrocodone + acetaminophen); even if you were to just opt for another brand name or generic of the same medication. I usually take norcos 7.5 & 10mg. I take 3-4 at a time so roughly about 40mg at a time...are these vicoprophen just like the norcos or different and how? ## Vicoprofen contains Hydrocodone and Ibuprofen (200mgs), rather than the Acetaminophen that Norco contains. That is a lot of Acetaminophen to take, at once. You should not exceed 1,000mgs per dose, every 8 hours, or as warned by the NIH, you may experience liver damage, or failure. Hi looking for some guidance hoping someone could shed some light. I have very chronic neck and back pains. I also having bulging disk in my neck C4 all the way to C6. I have been on Norco, Vicadin, Ibuprofen 800, genetic Percocet and name brand Percocet ( the hello pill with the Percocet logo on it) I have had 2 neck procedures done. The first was an epidural shot with trigger points and the second was a radio frequency medial branch remi.
