I have noticed that since starting Prolia I seem to always have a cold, stomach problems, sore/achy joints, and headaches. I am 46 and very athletic but this drug has taken a toll on my body. My white blood cell count has been affected as well. I am on Prolia because I had a breast cancer diagnosis in 2008 and my doctor felt it would help protect my bones. But I feel it is doing quite the opposite. My immune system has been altered in a negative way by this drug and it's not worth the gamble knowing my health history. Sorry Prolia but I'm out. my daughter is 11 years old and has a slight swelling where her thyroid glands are . it is not very obvious unless you look carefully. She is tall for her age and very fit and athletic, will this create any problems in future ? Should we worry about it? ## You really should consult a doctor. I am currently debating whether or not to have my son start taking this drug. He is an athlete Basketball, football and baseball and I heard there is a lot of joint pain with this medication. He is 15 and I do not want to feel that giving the Dermatologist permission to prescribe this pill will later in life ruin his athletic potential. After 4 months of being on xarelto for pulmonary embolism was taken off the med due to bleeding. I was also taken off my normal 81 mg. aspirin which I take for heart disease. Neither my hemotologist, cardiologist, nor my gastro doc, (Crohn's disease ) have suggested I take an X-ray to determine if the clots are still there. This is very vexing. I take 600 mg. of gabapentin (3) times a day for nerve pain. For me it has been a miracle drug. I do have difficulty if not almost impossible losing weight and have even gained some.
