Hello, Emeric! How are you?
There aren't in the same class of medication and aren't used to treat the same things, at all.
Triamterene is a potassium sparing diuretic that's used to treat conditions such as congestive heart failure, high blood pressure and edema.
However, Prednisone is a steroid class medication that's used to treat allergic reactions, swelling and immunity disorders. It can actually cause fluid retention as a side effect.
Are there any other questions I can help with?
