Was taking soma till my insurance put me on tizanadine 4mg once a day which does nothing is that a comparison choice?
Re: Patty cake (# 33)
You could ask dr to change to flexeril. My dr changed me upon request, scripted 10mg generic at same dosage schedule
Re: Roro (# 32)
I was prescribed it as well. I take 1 at bedtime only and in 20 minutes I better lay down....the first thing is the dry mouth issue, then I can't hold my head up...you go to sleep, then comes the hallucinations which are very scary. While hallucinating, I saw people stealing a decorated Christmas tree outside.... what a scary trip that was. I got rid of them after being on them for 12 years, hallucinating the whole time...HELP.
I have been getting 4mg tzndn for years 3 times a day after learning how my body reacts to it i just use it at night...... take 2 about an hour b4 wanting to sleep .... other than that its kinda useless for me
4mg of Tizanidine is the recommended dose for this drug. Never take more than your Dr. says. It is a
muscle relaxer which can interfere with your breathing just like other relaxers.
Dr taking me off soma only because Insurance don't want to pay for it. I am very nervous because soma is the ONLY muscle relaxer that's EVER worked for me. I was in Soma 350mg per day for over the past 7 years. Zanaflex aka Tizanifine never worked. Getting nervous. It is what it is. Those who abuse and don't take prescribed dosage is reason pain clinics and other Doctors do not want to use it.
Right on. Tizanadine did nothing for me, so I took more and then went to emergency room. It made me quite ill.
I've been taking soma for long time. Now dr. Told to to get off an gave me tizanidine to be taken at night. Well I took one4mg. It knocked my ass out. Had to call in I was so dizzy. But if I take at night 8mg. I can't sleep. Go figure. I took my some halfed one tizanidine and xannx along with B/p med and cholesterol med and slept like a baby. Should I continue the routine
You are very stupid for driving on meds like that. It's illegal and I feel sorry for the people you hit. You should have been arrested and it's people like you that mess it up for people like me that need my meds! Hope you don't take your meds and drive again because it's not safe.
I read on Google that Tinazadine causes chest pains, heart attacks and delusions. I will stay on Soma even if I have to keep paying for it!
Stay on Soma and pay for them yourself, the generic is not expensive. You can use a RX discount card or if you have a Sam's Club discount it will take 50% off the price. I now pay $26 out of pocket for 90 Soma per month/3 per days as needed. I have not found anything else that compares or keeps my mind clear enough to work. I have tried several through the years and I've alway went back to Soma because it just works and works very well.
All I say is that somas r the best with some norcos and u will b just fine...4 years ago I had a stimulate put in my back and that was the best b decision I have ever made I had no more pain at all til last ur it turned of so I had it replacted in Nov.of last ur and they put one in that I didn't have to charge it ...my stimulated ..I was so miserable for a month I couldn't light straight I couldn't lie on my left side just on my right side so I took the dog to the doctor made an appointment they went to check it I had an infection staph infection that I had to go back in in December the 1st had it the stimulator taken out and the water taken up my spine I got to go home and relax for two months and then come February of this year they went back in and put the stimulator back in on my right side this time and they reopen my spine and rewired my spine again okay now I don't have no pain in my lower back I have it up for the spine is no that's miserable your back is always tired I still get the spasms I need my somas but anyway that's it
I guys I have been taking some for over 10 years and that's the only thing that helps me my doctor swished me to these tizanidine but I know its not gonna work cause my body is use to the some but I have to take 2 every3/4 but at bed time I take 3 I like to relax cause my spasms r so bad its feels like I have a Baby inside and moves all around and its so painful and I hate it when I get them under my breast or in my ribs and it travels all around to my back and know one know wat I'm going thro it hurts
No honey. Soma is considered a narcotic. Tizanadine is not. And it does not work very well. I used to take Valium for my horrific spasms and Valium was like a miracle pill it worked so well. Once my PAIN MANAGEMENT doctor prescribed them to me it was bye bye spasms for good!!! That is of course until these new ridiculous laws came into play and I was told you cannot take morphine and Valium at the same time. I am disabled due to my back and three surgeries actually three unsuccessful surgeries on my back my lower back I have titanium screws and plates in my back I take Morphine, Roxicodone, Tizanidine, Diclofenac, Topamax and Duloxetine all for pain in my back. Only the Morphine and Roxicodone are opiates the rest of them besides the Tizanidine which is for spasms are medications that are supposed to stop the signal of pain before it gets to your brain. They have cut down my opiates by over 75% and I am now bedridden due to the fact that I cannot barely move due to the pain because of the severeness of my injuries and the diseases they have caused in my back. If you are on any other opiates more than likely honey the only thing they are going to give you are muscle relaxers like Tizanidine because it is non-narcotic, which trust me out of all of the muscle relaxers that are not opiates is actually the best one as I have tried them ALL. (Please do not let them talk you into trying BALLOON...ITS LUKE TAKING AN AIR PILL IT DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!) so good luck to you honey and good luck to everyone out there that is suffering the same way we are!!!! I am actually still on the search for a new pain management doctor in Philadelphia as my own doctor even told me to try to find a new doctor that would prescribe me the medications I need because he knows with the cuts he gave me I cannot survive like this but he is too afraid and he is very conservative and has cut me down so far he knows I suffer in agony every day...
Soma is not a barbituate, however Soma comes up in U/A's as what it metabolizes into, Carbamate & Meprobramate (sedative/tranquilizer/benzodiazepine-type drug) It only remains in your system 3 maybe 4 days so a Barbituate buildup in your bloodsteam is confusing unless you were taking just way too many and mixing some meds and even then there would have to be a different diagnostic done to differentiate Soma or if it was caused from a Benzo. Soma is not outlawed, it can still be prescribed but it can be deadly if abused or mixed with downers. Entire states aren't outlawing Soma, it has been bumped up to a schedule 3 but that is mainly because of the abuse of the medication. Soma is a far superior muscle relaxer than anything else out there for most people but people will abuse aspirin if you let them. Taking more than 1 Soma at a time or too often (less than 6 hours) with Benzo or really any downer including alcohol has cause deaths. It can be taken with pain meds and Lyrica or Gabapentin but the doses should be normal doses and you can't abuse any of it. If they suspected that you were this would have been why you can't be prescribed Soma anymore, not Soma's fault because it's just not a bad medication at all.
Amazon Soma from 2008 until 2013 when I moved from Minnesota to Iowa the pain clinics in Iowa had refused to allow me to continue Soma do to a barbituate buildup in my bloodstream so they say all I know is the Soma gave me wonderful muscle control I got excellent sleep and for me 6 hours a night is excellent and my anxiety required less medication when they switched me over to Tizanidine I had seizures until they got the dose adjusted correctly by the time they drop the dose to where I wasn't having seizures the medication is basically ineffective I have two month supply and from time to time when I have difficulty sleeping I will take 16 milligrams with two milligrams Okolona fence and might get 4 hours sleep but then when you deal with chronic pain I guess it's better than nothing
Xanaflex proved to be worthless for me.
It did absolutely nothing unless I took two 4mg pills. Then it worked for only three hours! And it made me very very sick. I'll never take it again. It is bad medicine!
You should take Zanaflex aka Tizanidine as directed by your doctor and goby what's printed on your prescription bottle. Taking three 350 mg Soma at one time, well no doctor would ever prescribe you 1050mg of Soma to take at one time, thats how people go to sleep and never wake up and probably why you can no longer get anymore Soma.
Soma is cheap, don't let your insurance dictate the best muscle relaxer for you, thats really between you and your doctor. With my Sams Club discount I pay only $16 each month for my 350mg Soma, that's 3 pills a day. You can work and funtion on Soma. Tizanidine (Zanaflex) is very toxic to your liver, much more toxic than Soma and not great for long term use and tends to makes most people very sleepy. Meloxicam is not a muscle relaxer, it's an anti-inflammatory medication for arthritis, an nsaid. Tizanidine seems to have a shorter life where you should be getting at least 6 hours of muscle spasm relief from one 350mg Soma, some patients report upwards of 8 hours of relief. We recommend Flexril for night and Soma for day if you need help sleeping. We are not fans of Zanaflex or the generic form Tizanidine. Talk to your doctor. Soma is not an expensive medication and the generic works just fine. Walmart/Sams Club is probably the least expensive and you can use your Sams Club Card discount at any Walmart or Sam's Club Pharmacy for a 25%-75% savings depending on the medication that you pay out of pocket for. I can get 120 - 7.5/300 Brand named Vicodin for only $65 with my Sams Club Discount if paying cash with no insurance where my insurance pays $150 for the same script, it makes no sense why they mark it up and charge my insurance over twice as much.
When in doubt, I'll start taking them as prescribed. Most of us get to an addicted place because we do NOT follow the directions.
