I did the patch and it did nothing for me, a little crankier, same as Riluzole. But then again, I was in a clinical trial using Ketamine infusions and experienced 'the miracle'. So nothing can compare to that.

Ruth. No I understand. Unfortunately having Kaiser doesn't do much good with these types of disorders. All they do is prescribe the current meds that they are allowed. Makes me wonder if anyone out there is really trying to find a cure or better medicines to help those of us who suffer daily. I wish I knew your doctor and they were located near southern California.

Thank you Scott. I don't think I made it clear that Dr. Sajben closely monitors the ketamine for each person. Everyone has different needs and tolerances. It may well help you, it is just that a sample wouldn't be enough.

Thanks Ruth. Too bad not more is being reported about this usage if it helps. The only thing that works ok for me is the benzos ( Klonopin ). I tried the Scopolomine patch, but that just made me a little dizzy. Didn't do much. Hopefully the Ketamine becomes more popular. Glad it helps you. God bless. Scott

Scott I don't think you would gain anything from a sample of the nasal spray . Dr, Sajben works with you using a mixture of drugs including ketamine. Over a period of 2 months I gradually increased the dose and I imagine she May give me a stronger concentration on our next visit. It definitely does something. As I said I've noticed it's impact on OCD. I've posted a few times about the intranet nasal ketamine and no one but you has responded. It is subtle. It is much Leeds expensive. I am doing a regular regimen with it and I carry it with me.

I would like to know more about this Ketamine nasal spray offered by Dr Nancy Sabjen. How can I get a trial sample of it for my depression. My e-mail is {edited for privacy}.

Hi Michael,
I know this is an older post of yours on the scopolamine or ketamine thread but hoping you still check in from time to time. Because I really wanted to thank u for taking the time to share your experience and knowledge on this topic, especially including contact information along with other treatment options. As u know how difficult just brushing ones teeth can be at this time let alone the ability to search for possible treatments. Thanks to everyone! Gives a little fight and hope back. After a few disappointing phone calls. I sure could use some recommendations for DR. psychiatrists in the L.A. area. As my doc is in o.c. Really pushing for more inpatient/outpatient etc. I would like a doc. that is open to other altern. Treatments along with a little hope would be nice. Thanks again keep us all posted on treatment results.

My next step is trying tDCS (Google to learn about). I found a kit online for under $200. I am cautiously optimistic.

Please don't commit suicide, my Father did about 20 years ago and it still hurts me to this day. You can't imagine how hard life is for those of us left behind unless you have been in my shoes. Everyone who cares for you will love with survivors guilt and depression for the rest of there lives. I will pray for you but PLEASE finda different alternative. Hang in there and God bless you.

I 70 years old bipolar with moderate cronic pain, probably from a small spinal lesion cord between C2 & C3. I have periods of depression lasting years. Over the years I have educated myself very well on these subjects and regularly read the literature in several related fields.

Ketamine has been cropping up in chronic pain for some time. When it popped up for depression I dropped my psychiatrist of 17 years a line. As the patient that has been with him the longest by several years our discussions or open and honest. He brought up Scopolamine as a saver and easier to get drug. The Norvis Transderm Scop patch with 4 1.5mg patches gives blood levels of Scopolamine similar to several of the intravenous studies being done. The levels are delayed 8 hours.

A box of 4 costs me about $50 bucks and insurance doesn't cover it. I have used it twice about 3 months apart. Looking back it should have probably been ever 6 weeks.

My doctor tells me he has tried the scpomien patch on 8 people and had good results on 6 of us. One more initially had good results but relapsed in a week and the second patch didn't have good results.

In the past Webutrin and Efxor have had short term positive results. Sleep deprivation is the best treatment as long as only get 4 to 5 hours sleep a night. That worked until old age caught up with me and my heart start skipping beats unless I got more sleep. ATCH & steroids work very well for about a month before rage sets in. Vioxx seemed to help as do any anti-inflammatory drugs that really work. That may just be I am in a better mood when I hurt less.

Nothing but sleep deprivation has really worked. Fortunately I didn't require much sleep when I was younger. As a farmer I worked 16 to 18 hour days from the middle of May to the middle of September some years. When I work on computer program I work 16 hours a day 7 days a week so I don't get distracted by something else. One time I tried working 20 and sleeping 10. I got more work done but interacting with the outside world was difficult.

35 years of severe depression. Over 100 antidepressants plus over 20 ECTs . . . none worked. Daily suicidal ideation. Am at a point that suicide offers the hope of relief. Then I read your article. Who and where is Dr Nancy Sabjen? I have very little fight left. Please, please contact me.

This message is to David who wrote in last spring about his major relief from TRD by the use Ketamine, first discovered from Clinical Trial. David, you also stated you were obtaining ketamine on your own. I, too was in a clinical trial using Ketamine infusion and my response was incredible! I would like to email you privately to discuss our experience. I will give permission for access to my private email. Please contact me ASAP! Thanks! BTW, tried Riluzole and Scop patches and they did nothing except turn me mean and nasty.

On Ketamine, I went to Dr Nancy Sabjen (who I learmed about on this website) who prescribes a nasal spray of it. Totally affordable and It worked quickly and I feel like a new person. I can't recommend this enough. I have been on anti-D's for years and never got this relief .She worked with her compound pharmacy and had it formulated into a spray!

I am getting scopolamine cream from a compounding pharmacy near seattle and they do not know dosages.

Why are you taking the pills for 2 nights a week ? would it not make more sense to take less each day, everyday?

Can you please explain. Thanks
