Most doctors that treat with Suboxone are not going to allow it, since Xanax is very commonly abused and can be habit forming.
And a doctor that treats with Suboxone can't prescribed Xanax, under the new regulations that were put in place last year. You'd actually need to see another specialist, most likely a Psychiatrist.
These medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, irritability and headache.
What else have you tried to treat your anxiety and panic attacks? There are non-habit forming options, such as SSRI antidepressants.

Try using the Patient-Physician Matching System on NAABT.org. You type in a little personal information and the info is sent out to area doctors who participate in the program. Within minutes usually you end up getting email replies from different doctors. They provide you with their names and phone numbers and ask you to mention that you were referred by the matching system when/if you call.
It's very user-friendly; I've had to do it myself a few times and usually average between 4-6 email replies.
Hope that helps. Then it will be up to you to let the doctor know about your anxiety issues and see if he/she will prescribe you something to ease your symptoms. Personally, I take Klonopin with my Sub- I've been on this regimen for a few years now. My doctor has no problem with prescribing both meds, although he's obligated to inform me of the potential risks every time. It's a medical board requirement.

My current doctor does indeed do this as I have had GAD for years, so he writes me a script for Klonopin at every appointment. Most Sub doctors in my experience prefer not to prescribe Xanax- they're much more comfortable with Klonopin. I haven't had an issue yet in my 4 years of treatment with being denied my Klonopin script.
Of course he has to caution me every time of the potential risks involved (he knows I'm aware of them), but it's to appease the Medical Board really.
I don't want to mislead anyone- I'm simply speaking of my past and present experiences with Suboxone doctors here in AZ.
