I Need To Find A Doctor In Fort Worth Texas That Prescribes Pain Killers (Page 5) (Top voted first)
UpdatedDoes anyone know a doctor that is good about prescribing pain killers like hydrocodens 10/325 in fort worth Texas? I am a diabetic type 1 that has a lot of pain and really in need of a good doctor that can help me out and not think i am faking pain.
Hi Ms Ortiz....I would love to find out what your info is with regards to fighting back against all the BS surrounding the new "guidelines" and rules for docs prescribing pain killers. How can I contact you privately? If I put my email address on here it will censor it. Thanks.
Wake up people..our government is turning us into a communist country, we truely need a voice. My belief is our government can control the pharmacuticles and lost the fight on street drugs...so who suffers.. us chronic pain patients..they treat every patient the same no matter what the problem, as if we just came off the street corner sporting a crack pipe, good grief! Why cant our dr. Fight for us, they getting kick backs? I realize its not easy on the drs, but what the f...the governments getting fat pockets..why not you too :-) soooo tired of being treated as a minority..you drs put us on this stuff now just kick us to the curve, how American!!! God help us all that we cant suffer in dignity, feel some relief from all the hard work we done to make this a great country by taking a pill for some comfort.....so go get drunk, try some H, go to the local cig shop and grab a crack pipe, its becoming the American cure all. Thanks for listening, Tami
Myth #1: DEA and DPS do not send out letters about physician prescribing habits
Myth #2: there is no medical evidence to support the long term use of hydrocodone. Cancer pain is another issue and is usually classified seperately when responsible physicians consider the benefits vs risk of prescribing a medication.
Myth #3: ANY Texas physician who has applied to the Texas DPS for authorization to prescribe scheduled meds (listed as schedule 3,4,5 and 2 or 2n) and who have requested and paid for the special prescription pad for schedule 2 and 2n meds, CAN prescribe these meds. Does not mean they will if THEY, not the patient, believe the tusks outweigh the potential benefits. Also remember that increased function not simply pain control, is the ultimate goal.
And now the news that Hydrocodone/Acetaminophen is becoming a Schedule 2 in October. This will send this list into a freny when lots of physicians who do not have the special pad and do not want to get one will no longer be able to prescribe.
Dr in Texas.
Im sorry i do not get on here alot, so sorry for the delay responding. Really all im wanting to do is get a petition signed by as many pain sufferers as possible and turn it in to the Texas medical board in Austin, Tx
Ortiz, that is a good statement in that it is the Medical Board that sanctions physicians and physician assistants for practicing bad medicine. Remember though that bad medicine may be prescribing meds for the wrong reasons (look up chapter 170 in the Texas Medical Board Rules - available on line and relatively uncomplicated reading). The Board would never sanction for NOT prescribing meds, so your petition would likely fall on deaf ears.
I'd like to hear more. Please respond.
TexasMD, I wish I knew where patients get the idea that they can make a physician write a certain prescription if the submit petitions. That is not reality.
Jen, Is your pcp the one you asked to put you on Suboxone ? Suboxone is used to treat opioid addiction. Not every dr can prescribe Suboxone.
Jen, even if you didn't ask or get the Suboxone from your pcp. He will know you're taking it by looking you up in your states Prescription Monitoring Program.
Thank you for replying!!! My question is does that mean I can never get pain killers from a doctor again?
Jenn, it will be nearly impossible, if not impossible, to find a dr who will rx you a pain med that you became addicted to and had to be put on maintance meds for that addiction. You may or may not be able to find a pill mill dr somewhere to rx the pain meds. You need to get a copy of your medical records from both drs and see exactly what they have written down about why your were taking the Suboxone. I seriously doubt that your medical records state you were taking Suboxone because you wanted to cut back on your pain meds.
I am moving to the area and scared to death I won't find an understanding doctor. Any advice appreciated. {edited for privacy}.
has anyone found a good pain management dr in FT Worth or Dallas ?? Please help
Im not saYn its all the medical boards decision but they sure can point me in the direction i need to go. Also my congressman will help mw thanks. I dont give up or in to easily.
Can you refer me to some doctors? I found this thread recently. Hoping you can help. Thanks.
rain man what r the names of doc in ft.worth?
the only thing we can do anything about this is all of us get togeather and file a protest against DEA,FDA.they have got all the doctor,s where they can not give pain meds
I totally agree with you! Even my surgeon (who also owns the pain mgmt clinic I go to) has his panties in a bunch because of the DEA & the new laws! The i****s who passed these laws must not have ever suffered from acute/severe/chronic pain.
I'm trying to connect to your reply about finding physician who will continue a pain management program using narcotics. I have moved from New Orleans to Fort Worth and flying home every few months to see my doctor and get my prescriptions. I have been under treatment for many years, with many doctors for multiple diseases that cause pain. I got off the pain pills per my request several years ago for two years with suboxone only to become less functional. Went back on the narcotics. It's a dead end, but I've been to numerous pain clinics with alternative treatments including spinal injections, and that's a dead end also. I just need to be able to get out of bed, tolerate the pain so I can at least hold a part time job. I sold my home, came to Texas for a job, and now I may have to return home just to get my prescriptions. Physicians got me to this place by starting me on pain pills to begin with. It's not like I started taking narcotics for fun. Now you can hardly find a doctor willing to continue the same treatment they started. If you know of any physicians that will take over my management plan from LA doctor, or an outpatient clinic to prescribe detox, I'd appreciate that. I'm facing going into withdrawals soon, and that is a serious problem. Thank You.
