i just need to know how long untill i take a drug test it wont show up in my urine

Hi, curvymomma, All I can tell you is what I read on the Subutex/Suboxone site and what I,ve found looking up "half life". The company and medical people can only give an estimate on half life of Bups but if you average all of it out its pretty safe to say half life of Bup is 72 hrs. or 3 days. All that means is every 72hrs a half of the Bup is gone. Then whats left in another72hrs half of what was left is gone. Another 72hrs half of whats left is gone again ect..ect.. All this boils down too is 72x4=288 or 12 days. What I never understood is do they mean the Bup is gone completely from your system (thats what I think) or do they mean its just come off the recepters on the brain? Sorry to be so confusing but I,m willing to bet your gonna be ok come testing time. I,m just wondering, have you been taking one and half of an 8mg Subutex every day? Today is Monday. You said you stopped Friday. Have you experienced any withdrawall symptoms?

Hey Curvymomma, A lot of people write about horrible wds off subs. I,ve weaned myself down twice in past keeping to an exact schedule. I jumped both times at very low dose. Not too bad at all. Nothing even close to an Oxy wd. I,m very interested to know how you make out jumping from a higher dose. If your up to it in next few days please let us know how your doing.

Just wanted to give experience we had my husband failed drug screen with not taking strip for 72 hours an it showed up in drug screen so no for a fact not out in 72 hours......so just a fact......

john u need to due more research because u r ths one that is wrong. suboxone does show up on most drug screens. trust me have been tested at drs fccs and probation and shows up all places. we r not the dumb ones u r

There is a special suboxone test, it can be on a panel or a seperate dip stick, they are not expensive and probation tests for it. It is marked BUP on the panel screens...suboxone is not an opiate, however it has caused me to have 3 false positives for opiates, I knew it was clean so I requested my panel drug screens be sent to the lab. False positives are common so request lab work to be done

I took around the same amount Friday at 10:30am,and I've got a tst Monday at 4:00pm,but I've been drinking lots of wtr n pissing alot.do u think I'll pass.that'll hover 80 hr

I tested positive at my doctor's office because I'm normally on medication for my back and came up short that month and rather than deal with withdrawal I had to take other things I was surprised to find that roxocet (sp) shows as Morphine, they can specifically test for Oxycodone and Oxycontin where in the past all opiates metabolize into Morphine and the suboxone also showed separately so basically it depends on the test and it's thresholds and it will vary from place to place. Probation offices used to use a 5 panel screen that I knew of but things have changed over the years, I was honest with my provider and they were understanding and grateful for my honesty so when in a situation like that don't try to blame the test for being inaccurate, you would be surprised by how just being honest can work in your favor because then they will be more willing to work with you rather than feeling like you're trying to get away with something and they are likely to respect you more. I have heard that suboxone can be detected in urine for 3-4 days if sent to a lab it could be detected for much longer so depending on your circumstances you might just want to be honest. I hope this is helpful to some people, I've been involved in many aspects from job screens, probation and most recently my Primary care doctor, in all situations I've found you have a better chance with honesty all around because the average person will try to place blame anywhere but in their own actions. My best advice is just try not to get yourself in the situation in the first place but I know that sometimes things happen. Good luck to anyone in the situation. Personally I feel honesty really is the best policy.

There is a dangerous amount of misinformation being given out as fact on this subject. People claiming its out of their system in three days because they were able to pass their piss test after such a short amount of time simply did not have buprenorphine (its the opioid in suboxone) on the panel of drugs they were being tested for. The amount of time it will take to clear out of your system enough to pass a test that is actually looking for it is highly variable but its MUCH longer than with almost any of the normal opiates and opiods they look for. It depends on personal metabolism and the doses taken but given that buprenorphine has an incredibly long half life, a person with a slower than average metabolism who took a big dose could end up failing a drug test looking for it several weeks later.

Yea, I agree, there is a ton of misinformation and disinformation all over the web - not just here. what sucks is this dynamic makes it impossible for those of us who do know what the hell we're talking about to convince information seekers that what we're saying is correct. Sometimes I think web forums should have a feedback score associated with each user that indicates how knowledgeable.

For what it's worth, the couple of people above who described how a chemical's half-life works were absolutely correct.

What I want to know is this: what is minimum amount of bupe that can be detected. i.e. Ill just assume that I metabolize at the high end of the half-life range, which is 72 hours. So if I waited 30 days after my 8mg dose of bupe before my drug test, will the test detect that amount? Every 3 days the dose gets dived in half, so after 30 days the math indicates that I would have 0.007 mg of bupe left in my system. Is that enough to be detected as a trace amount in my urine. I know I sound paranoid and I know that's not the amount that's necessarily in my urine, but can that be detected?

Every person giving info here has some true facts, as well as false ones in their own comments. Obviously you ask such a question so you can have enough time to get it out of your system before a urine test of some sort. Therefore, your best bet is to not use it if your not prescribed it! Even doctors aren't experts concerning Suboxone!
Suboxone is suppose to "throw you into instant withdrawal" blocking the opiate, but guess what...Some patients are prescribed BOTH Percocets and Suboxone, to be spread out over a certain amount of time of day/night.
People abuse all types of drugs, Suboxone being just another added abuse. Got a urine test? Do it and if it shows-oh well sorry to say, but your busted!

iyss, you r wrong alot of the," standard" test as u call them r testing fpr suboxone because ot is now considered a relatively abused drug so beforru go and say no " standard" drug test don't test for suboxone do your research

No suboxone is not an opiate & does not show up as one. It has synthetic opiate n it. I go to a suboxone clinic. It shows up as bupenephrine & they have to do a special test for it. It does not show up on a regular 5 panel drugtest.
