Pay no attention to other people here most are full of s*** and not taking the meds correctly or taking too much too soon. Plus the people going cold turkey will have big side effects.. all documents state this

When you have problems withdrawing from Lyrica it's very important to do a very slow taper. Reducing your dose by 10% every month works for most people. And when there comes a month withdrawal symptoms still break through, just increase the dose by 10% back again and you should be fine.
When you feel you are still going too fast you can stay at a certain dose for a month longer, it will only take some more time till you are there.
Do the water titration method, and it goes like this:
Get yourself some 100 ml jars and some syringes to do the job.
For instance: empty your capsule into a 100 ml jar filled with water and shake it well. The first month you suck 10 ml of the solution out of it, the 2nd. mont 20 ml, and so on.
At he end it still can be rough, and when you feel so, just slow your taper to 5% (5 ml) a month.
This taper will last about a year, but it will prevent you from going through hell.
Lyrica withdrawal can be just as bad (or even worse) as benzo withdrawal, so take it slow and take your time.

Because u do get an energy kick similar to pain killers that r opiates. Actually used Lyrica for month to help get off pain killers n after month I still went into full withdrawal sickness-crazy legs, crawling outta my skin feeling. No sleep, body aches so deep n relentless. Nausea diarrhea no appetite. It definitely has addictive quality!

I have a drug screen at my pain management doctor every 2 months. I do not have a prescription for Lyrica, and I got a call saying that I needed to bring my script for Lyrica in on my next visit because my urinalysis showed it in my system. I have never taken Lyrica, but just so you know, some doctors have extensive drug screenings.

I've been off lyrica for 3 years now and still feel depressed and can't sleep worth a damn... Yes, I did wean myself off as I did also with the 3 other medications I was taking for my low back pain and nerve damage. I was on 150mg Lyrica for a couple years along with amatriptaline 25mg at night, 50mg Baclofen up to 3 times daily and also oxycodone up to 4 times a day. Was on a couple different meds before these last 4 but didn't help restless legs or Charlie horses as much as ending combo. I'm only 31 now and am stuck with pain/discomfort because I'm a stay home mom instead of at work LPN as I was before and cannot afford without insurance. How long should depression last, if it's a true side effect of the medication?

I have been on 600mg per day for a couple years and the doctor is now weaning me off. I have been on 100 mg for the past month but it has been 3 days since I have taken it. My skin is so tender and I hurt so bad. I am refusing to take anymore. About how much longer should I expect this or all the other side effects

I took lyrica today for the first time, 50mg, at around 7 this morning. Doctor wanted me to try it due to my nerve pain from spinal stenosis and herniated discs, and I'll not ever take another one. I got really loopy, right arm started to twitch, face and body got red and hot, my anxiety kicked in so hard, a blood vessel in my right eye busted. Also gave me an extremely bad head pressure/pain. I couldn't hardly walk or carry on a conversation. I tried to just sleep it off but my heart was racing and the hot flashes were terrible. All this over one stupid pill. I'll never touch lyrica again

However you might be tested by a pain specialist/ prescriber to see if you're actually taking it. It is a controlled substance(V in the U.S. which is as low as it gets) which is why and is very addictive for some people. Best of luck.

I've had 500 to 100 a day for 8 months. I have had about 9 stones all my adult life but I gained three stones in about 5 months of Lyrica, pre gab akin. I liked the effects at first then after a while they stopped having the desired effect and I stopped taking them. Well I didn't know what had hit me. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep, after 2 days I hardly had the energy to walk, about to go to the toilet, get a wash or even make a cup of tea. The worst thing was feeling really spaced out and grippy. I was frightened and I felt terrible, the time went by so slowly. I went for 5 day without it and they were the longest days of my life a I could almost see my aura I was hallucinating and I couldn't get it together to even have a bath or get something to eat and I started thinking I was Going to die. And I couldn't stop thinking about how bad they are for you. I felt so ill I thought I was going to have a stroke or a fit or a heart attack. I had to go back on them. I'm still on 500 mg a day and I hate it. I'm bloated and my legs are stiff and sore. I can't walk far before my lower back starts to ache badly. I have to rest intermittently all the way back to where I'm going. I've told my Doctor and there is nothing he can do. There is not a Methadone equivalent that I can take so I'm stuck until I've got the guts to go through withdrawals and come off them. I hate myself and I know it is my own fault for starting to take them but what can I do?
