I wanted to say thank you for your words. I am considering Lyrica for my fibro, so I was researching. Thank you. Sounds like it might work, but I should start with a lower dose and work my way up. That was all.... just thanks for your personal experiences, it helps.

Hi to everyone. I strongly suggest you stay well clear from pregabalin. I was totally hooked on this drug for 9yrs. It makes u feel happy to begin with but not for long. I've had 5 friends lose their life to this drug. The withdrawals r something else Flu symptoms, nausea, chest pain, racing heart, headaches, diarrhea and suicide thorts They have been so many death's l and suicides on this drug. I'm a year off and I'd say it took a good 3 months to come rite. I've got Gastro oesophagal reflux disease due to this medication....

You don't know what you're talking about. Every person is different and won't have the same side effects that you experienced. For example: I've been on and off it twice and never got suicidal. I take 600mg a day now and the only thing that happens to me is I want to get up and do a lot of things. -Glenn

You wouldn't have gotten fibro from Lyrica. Lyrics is actually one of the best medicines around to treat fibro. I've had fibro for a couple years and nothing worked until Lyrica. Just knew, the next steps in treating fibro with lyrics is in combination with cymbalta. Please hear my warning with this though. The combination caused my liver to produce horrible results when tested. They actually began talking about a transplant. And the diarrhea got so bad they wanted to test for crohn's decease. Once the cymbalta speed, so did the side affects. Just the heads up, the 2 medicines do not mix well. At any rate, Lyrica was not the cause. It is possible though that your pain receptors are sensitive, more than normal because of the Lyrica. I don't know what you're taking, but I take 225mg twice a day. World's for me.

I thought I was not addicted. And my mind is not but my body is. I have been weaning off it and withdrawals physically are horrible.

@quitlyricalive,

Thanks a lot for being willing to share your personal experience on Lyrica!

It doesn't seem like your link is working though. The NeuroTalk webpage shows that there are no matches in the search.

Would you be able to post back with a new link to your post?

I was on Lyrica (75mg) for one week and then went to 150 mg/day and by the second day I had throbbing headaches. I quit the next day because I couldn't take it. I still have this headache three weeks later. I can take gabapentin but not lyrica. Taking for fibro.

I just took 100mg for the first time for chronic unspecific pain. Well I fell asleep on the couch,and since waking up my pain is still horrible and I'm disoriented and dizzy. No thank you,I'll stick to my narcotics.

I would tend to agree with you however, your grammer, and spelling lend you no merit. Being awake for over 24 hours can lead to poor thinking. Gets some rest.

my sister has been on lyrica for about 3 months, and the side effects are crazy. she has mood swings and cries or lashes out with sooo much anger, and that's just a couple of things....the list goes on and on. I made her stop taking this medication and I would suggest that anyone who is on it to run...not walk away from it.

I have been taking Lyrica for the past three years. At first it seemed to be effective for my lower back pain as I had surgery for a collapsed disc now suffering from DDD. I started to notice the "brain fog". It was impossible to concentrate. Swollen ankles at times became more painful than my back pain. Having a slim build I gained about 9 pounds from my usual weight. I partially blame this drug for my firing from my last job as I was unable to meet a project deadline due to the brain fog. I blame this drug on a traffic accident in an unfamiliar area. I also believe my last relationship suffered as a result of feeling emotionally distant. Originally I was only taking 75 mg/day then my doctor suggested I increase to 150 mg/day. In a new relationship I suffered from ED twice and that scared me as result I quit cold turkey. I dropped the weight I gained. I have not noticed my pain getting worse. My sleep is suffering. I don't have problems falling asleep but I have been waking up several times during the night. I am focused on exercise to help with pain.

I have been taking pregabalin for at least two years and at one time 300mg for chronic anxiety along with sertraline 100mg a day and 40mg of propanolol, anyway quite a while ago now I cut the pregabalin down to 150mg a day in 50mg capsules and then suddenly about 4 months ago i was administered 150mg capsules on repeat and I didn't realize so I was taking 3 of them a day so if you can do the maths that equals 450mg a day, so for 4 months I've been taking 450mg a day and as you are probably aware 300mg is the max dose for anxiety so I cut down by 150 mg about 4-5 weeks ago and my head has been blitzed, very bad memory, blurred vision,depression,anxiety,you name it! Can you tell me if this is normal and how much longer it'll go on for?? Many thanks

I experience those terrible headaches/migraines as well due to nerve damage (I have Multiple Sclerosis). My Doctor prescribed a drug called "Nortriptyline 10 MG" (take 3 at night.) The deabilatating migraine-headaches definitely went away! Only problem is that when I don't take the Nortriptyline" for more than a couple of days, the migraine-headaches come back. My pain Doctor prescribed Lyrica 50MG 3 xa day for me last week bc of continuous whole body pain I'm still experiencing [that OxyMorphone (Opana) 10 MG up to 8 x a day wasn't taking care of]. I just started the Lyrica 50MG today and I'm planning on starting it very gradually to prevent any "side effects". I hope you are feeling better! Please let me know how you're doing now with the Lyrica (As I'm reading all these posts in this forum, I'm kinda worried as there are more negative comments than positive ones!)
