Find A Dr In Or Near Lancaster Ohio That Can Prescribe Liquid Methadone For Detox Off Suboxone
UpdatedHello, I am looking for a Dr in or near Lancaster Ohio that can prescribe LIQUID methadone to me to get me off Suboxone. Here is a little background. I took percocets for recreation use for just over a year. In November of this year I will have been on 24mg of Suboxone a day for 2 years. Yes I have been on the subs twice as long as my addiction lasted. Don't get me wrong subs saved my ass but I am ready to close this chapter in my life and move on. I have tried several times to taper off subs and have just accepted that I do not have the will power to do so. I am a stay at home mom w an ADHD 9 yr old and a very busy 3 year old, if I have the subs I take them. So, here's where the liquid methadone comes in. There is very little "help" here in Lancaster/Columbus Ohio unless you have $250 every month to see the Suboxone dr or unless you can make it to the methadone clinic every day for dosing. I have a friend who has used to liquid methadone detox twice and was very successful. She did it inpatient at a local hospital, the reason I cannot do that is you must be pregnant for them to do it. So with all of that being said, all I need is 1 script of the liquid methadone. My friend did her most recent detox just last week and asked the pharmacist some questions regarding my situation and the pharmacist said based on my weight and what I am taking she would suggest I taper down from 12.5 ml. This is so frustrating for me. ALL I NEED IS ONE DAMN BOTTLE OF THIS STUFF!!!!! So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time:)
The laws have made it almost impossible for us to succeed I have been on meth pills 10mg 3xs a day for 5 yrs and yet I cannot find a dr who can prescribe them to me I hate this country sometimes. I u have any advice for me on how tk find a dr who can prescribe methadone low dose pills without going to a clinic I would really appreciate the advice I can afford 400$ a month but cannot drive an hr each day before work to be able tk function. I myself am on adderall for add and Valium for anxiety. I have been a stay at home mother of twins for 5 yrs and have an 11yr old also. It's now time for me to gk tk work and want to be legal on methadone for getting a career I was an Iv drug user for 10 yrs and with God and prayers I stayed clean during my pregnancy. Methadone then kept me from relapsing. I've been clean for 6 years now but feel stuck. I don't know where to turn I'm n Missouri and it seems the only way is thru suboxone w almost caused my liver to fail and meth clinics. They don't want us to succeed. The people don't understand that some if us have to have it to feel "normal" the only time I have ever felt like myself is while on methadone. I would take it for the rest of my life gladly to not have to de w the depression lack if motivation and energy that I felt my entire adolescent teenage life. I know this doesn't help w ur problem n I'm sorry. Just trying to reach out to anyone I can for advice without telling anyone close to me my secret
I was going to suggest suboxone until I read what it did to u. Have u tried subutex? It does the same thing as suboxone but is just a little different. That is what they give pregnant women. I totally feel your pain on this subject. its a harsh reality for all addicts that unless there is severe pain that can be treated by a Dr we will one day have to face sobriety again. I have been on suboxonje 2 years and I can no longer afford to pay $250 a month for the Dr. We haven't even paid our rent this month. do you know how guilty I feel? But since I have posted this I still haven't found liquid methadone so I am still stuck between a rock and a hard spot. I am really thinking about putting my big girl panties on and taking a week and facing the conquences of my choice to use opiates and going thru withdrawal. I feel I have no choice. I know this didn't help you much either but BC people abuse the help that's out there they make it difficult for people who really want to get and stay clean. Best of luck to you with this journey.
I am fairly new to Ohio, and have been on ADHD meds half my life. I just moved here from Mississippi and need to find a doctor that will prescribe my adderall. I have my prior medical records, but am having no luck finding a doctor in cuyahoga county. I need someone in or near North Olmsted. Any input would be helpful! Thanks!
I can help u..it's not as easy as u think. It's not the drug ur tappering off of..it's that last little part, the one where ur down to maybe 5mg a day that last few where u go from taking something to taking nothing.I've weaning H, methadone, perks.. with a doctor,without..it's ur desire to stop at the end.. but if u think methadone is going to be easier.. educate yourself.
I will never understand why it's so painful that last mg. but it is. It has been way easier to taper but that last jump? ouch. can't seem to do that. Makes no sense. anyone have a medical reason why that is?
I have educated myself and researched this very well. OSU hospital does this for PREGNANT women. I have physically seen someone do this and be successful. The key is start on a very low dose, just enough to keep WD away and stay on it no longer than 7 days. It also has to be liquid BC your body reacts differently to methadone pills vs liquid.
I have no idea eother but it seems to be very common. I've researched all this stuff for months and when subs first came out they were for H user only and they were NOT intended for long term use. They were to be used for a MAX of 6 weeks jut to get people thru the opiate WD and to get some Counseling under their belt before living life sober. Sadly drs have not followed these reccommendations and are just getting is hooked on something else. It's very frustrating. I'm STILL on subs and I am getting so discouraged. As much as I want to be TOTALLY sober I know it's gonna be a constant battle. I just any deal w the physical WD:(
Hi i dunno if you will see this or not but do you know any sub drs in lancaster
There's a Dr in the urgent care off of 37 by time warner cable. He's a jerk tho. I drive all the way to the north end of columbus for my Dr.
Hi Michelle, I understand your frustration. I wanted to let you know before you start your Transistion to read all the info you can. You`ll get very ill with precipitated withdraws if you start methadone with suboxone/Subutex (subutex stopped production in 2012) (or at least thats what they claim) still in your system and visa versa. I transistioned from methadone to suboxone without knowing this and was deathly ill for 6-7 days. Wait at the very least 72hrs. You can take percocet, vicodin to help you threw the 72 hrs, you probally won`t feel much. When you start to feel the meds above half way normally, wait another 24hrs then switch back over to methadone if desired. Liquid methadone is impossible to find unless you go to a methadone clinic. Butrans are always an option.I wish you luck. I live in Dayton. It looks as if the site doesn`t allows private messaging. I`ll check back if you like? in case you have anymore questions or concerns.
Thank you very much for replying. In all reality I will prob be sick when the time comes to get off subs. I don't have the will power to taper myself while I'm still being prescribed 2.5 strips a day. This is after going to the same dr for 4 years and I've only been cut .5mg in 4 years. I appreciate all of your info and in the rare occasion that I find a dr w liquid methadone or find some else where I will def keep this in mind.
suboxone does not go through liver....That's what dr told me.
EVERY drug not withstanding type, dose and classification: Aspirin, Ritalin, Methadone, cough preps, etc., at some point is metabolized through your liver or it would never leave your body. This includes Prescription and non prescription preparations alike.....So if anyone ever tells you different they are wrong. 5 minutes of remedial research will bear this fact out.
I was on Suboxone for 4 years, went to a rehab that intravenously gave me amino acids and other stuff my brain was lacking. Not bad for time I was there but after a year of bad depression, lack of energy,no incentive to do anything, and basically feeling like hell every day,I went back on it (between 4&6mg)I'm thinking that at 60 years old,my receptors are permenantly damaged and might have to be on this drug the rest of my life.
It seems to me a lot of people are making excuses for why they need all this medicine but the truth is first you must be honest with yourself then make plans to do the jump off suboxone types at 2mg or less and hang on. I'm doing it right now and I don't feel that bad. I'm going into day nine. 99% is mind over matter and that is the truth but you must mentally get to a place where you're not scared to death of doing it, then you have it made. After that you can take clonidine to sleep if you need it or just struggle through it. You're stronger than any drug will ever be but you must see and believe that to succeed.
Can u tell me name of clinic? Suboxone isn't working I've been off and on for 6 years n now he stopped my Adderall and Xanax because they aren't allowed to prescribe any more.
Find a dr in Columbus Ohio that will prescribe adderall while on suboxone. Also looking for a subutex dr in Columbus Ohio that takes Molina healthcare
You're absolutely right that they don't care. I've been on methadon for 33 yrs. Never once did they ask if I want to get off the crap. I was satisfied that I wasn't sticking a needle in my arm. I moved and transferred and the new clinic was shocked that I've been on so long.
Don't know too much about suboxone but methadon is like being a diabetic. You need it so you're not sick. Find another way to get off but don't use methadon. Can't you get into a rehab for a month or so. That's your best bet. At least I think so.
Re: Sunny (# 10)
You have given completely wrong information. It is fine to use methadone immediately after subutex/suboxone you will not get sick or experience withdrawal in anyway, shape or form. The switch from methadone to sub is the one to watch out for but from sub to methadone no problems. Please ensure that when offering advice or information that it is actually correct otherwise you are likely to harm someone
HI.
I live in Akron Ohio and there are a lot of doctors that prescribe liquid methadone. But I don't know how far Lancaster Ohio is from Akron. But there's tons of doctors in Akron Ohio. Happy Hunting.

Methadone or Methadose which is the liquid form, can not be prescribed by a regular Dr. anywhere in the US. Its a federal law and strictly regulated by the DEA. Also, federal law dictates that no Dr can prescribe Methadone for Opiate Addiction, period. They can only prescribe it if it is intended for Pain Management, and then only in tablet form. The ONLY places that are authorized to prescribe the liquid form, or prescribe Methadone to treat any form of Opiate Dependence period, is a MAT clinic, or a hospital setting ONLY. Its not a State thing, its a US thing. The DEA has very strict rules when it comes to Methadone and in most cases, PCP's will refer patients to a Pain Management specialist or clinic if they need an opiate prescribed. That's due to their liability fears, their insurance regulations, and the Opiate crisis that kills more people daily than any other medical condition including COVID, or even car accidents. Dont allow the stigma of Methadone Clinics to mislead you into believing they are only for lifer addicts or that going to one requires you to stay on the medication longer than you want to. You are the one to decide how high you want your dose to be, and you also have the freedom to discontinue taking it at any time. Also, they not only provide the maintenance treatment for extended use, they also offer it as a Detox method, which will wean you down systematically, and over a shorter period which you can pre design with the provider to fit your specific need. So if you believe you just need a bottle, (which contains 1,000 ml with the dose being 10mg of methadone per ml and would be enough for a high dosed patient for close to a year) then you would be a perfect candidate to enroll in the detox version of the program (not the extended maintenance) which would do exactly what you have described yourself as wanting to do. And I believe you would have much more succsss and feel a whole lot better physically than one does via Suboxone. Going to the clinic 6 days a week is not the hassle its rumored to be. Most people are in and out in 5 mins or less, and they usually open as early as 5am to accommodate those who work. Don't let stigma give you false impressions. I did that myself for years until I finally faced the reality that doing it on my terms with my own ideas or plans for what would work, was not realistic, and clearly wasn't working, and I gave in and went to a clinic. Best move I could've made, I found freedom from pills and I never suffered a minute of withdrawal or discomfort again after doing so. Check into it. And something to think about when you're telling yourself that going to the clinic 6 days a week for a few minutes will still be too great a hassle.... Consider how much time you currently spend everyday hunting down, procuring, and administering your current opiate, not to mention $, and in almost every case, the time you're currently investing every day to suppress withdrawls, is exponentially larger than a quick trip to the clinic would be. (I spend more time in line everyday at the coffee stand than I did at the clinic! ) Good Luck!
Re: Southern Sweetie (# 3)
Hi. Did you ever have any luck finding a doctor who would prescribe both for you?? There's only 1 doctor I'm aware of who will do that & he's in North Olmsted. I hope it worked out for you..
