Zolpidem Generic (Page 6) (Top voted first)

ALL CVS pharmacies just changed the zolpidem from MYLAN manufacturer (out of PA) to TORRENT in India. Because generics can certain behave differently, I am nervous about taking the (10 mg) oblong peach Torrent brand one after reading some things online. I also don't like the idea of CVS using from out of the country manufacturer which HAS to be due to a better price because MYLAN brand is still very readily available. Any comments?

Which Zolpidem Tartrate 10mg (Ambien) am I taking? It's a peach-yellow oblong tablet, imprinted with 10mg on one side, and what looks like a 5 die logo on the other. (Like from a set of dice).

It isn't like the old Ambien where I would sleep walk and talk and act like an ass. Or wake up unknowingly and leave my house at 4am and decide to go for a drive. To have a State Trouper from another state find me sleeping in my truck and put my keys on my roof, and call local Police. I found this out later when the town cops were banging on my window at 7am. Luckily I wasn't charged, the Statie claimed I almost ran her off the road, then pulled to the side and fell asleep, she wanted me arrested BAD. But, thanks to her for removing my keys, so I didn't drive away, there was nothing they could charge me with. All I was doing was sleeping in my truck. The last thing I remember was going to sleep! I almost drove again to go rent videos, but luckily I couldn't find my shoes and turned on the bedroom light and woke up my husband. He video taped me arguing that it was 3pm not 3am. From then on I gave my husband my keys at night.

Anyone ever see The Simpsons show, where Homer was on Ambien? Too funny, but factual.

I take the peach-colored Torrent Zolpidem which is 10 mg. I have no problem with this pill, even though my doctor has instructed me to split the pill in half and take only 5 mg.
Many pills are made in India, including most brands of Tramadol. Because a pill is made in India is not a cause for concern; Indian mfrs. have high standards.

I've been suffering from sleeping problems since I was 17. Then a few deaths happened in the family and then it got worse. Now I'm only having 2 hours of sleep a night. The doctors here in the UK will not give me any sleeping pills at all. They are so strict because you get *****s selling their prescriptions, then it ruins it for the ones like me who really need it. I don't know how much longer my body can function with no sleep but I don't know how to get a doctor to prescribe sleeping pills like zopiclone or diazepam. I'm responsible and would take only 1 per night like I'm supposed too. Can anyone offer some advice? {edited for privacy}. I'm desperate. Thank you.

John, clonazepam is a benzo. It's in the sane family diazepam,alprazolam etc. You got lucky because if the Ambien. But check with HR and see if you have a script for clonazepam they shouldn't be able to give you grief over it. It's a test for illucit drugs. But I don't know what your job is. It takes several days for your last dose to get out of your system. So it would be tricky for them to prove you were under the influence and tricky for you to prove you weren't. Hope this helps.

I totally agree with the ineffectiveness of Teva on this drug. I have also had some unpleasant experiences with another generic of Teva

I am not happy at all with Walmart Pharmacy for refilling my Zolpidem prescription with a pill (E 79) from some company that manufactures them in India! This is the first time they've done this (at my store, anyway). I don't mind buying any other imported products, but my medication? I don't think so. No offense to any people from India, but I don't trust something made to go into my body and affect my brain being made by people making $1.00 a day or whatever. I have so many questions about product standards and regulations because here we have the FDA and there who knows? That's probably why drug manufacturing is less costly and discount stores like Walmart buy from them. Of course, this is just speculation on my part, but knowing how messed up the world of business is...

I have tested every 10mg generic and found that the Torrent Brand works best ---- not anywhere as well as the Qualitest version which is no longer available, but Teva and Mylan were totally ineffective for me.

Zolpidem 10mg is not working. I'm up after a few hours and don't feel like I've taken anything. Waking up after a few hours is why I saw the doctor. Please advise.

I took the peach ones. They were good. New white Elliptical shaped ones suck. Aurbindo. No sleep. Now Walgreens told me they don’t know when they can get more. Walmart had 250 left. Hopefully I can get my 30 before they are gone too! There will be shortages us what the pharmacy said.

I also have the same problem. I deal with Walgreens and they never give me the same manufacturer on any of my meds. I changed to a mom and pip pharmacy.

Torrent brand Zolpiem is awful. I think most of them are have no medication in them, like a placebo. Meds from India are worthless and pharmacies in Arizona buy them because they are cheaper. I got in argument with pharmacy and doctor I told them out of 90 zolpidem pills, maybe 10 were effective.

If you're taking Restoril and Zolpidem and they are not working: Doctors order these meds and you get generic brand from Torrent pharma. These pills some have more medication in them but out of others I received (90 day supply) over half of the medication did not work. Because they are not putting enough medication in the pills. How are they allowed to get away with this? If your going to take a sleep aid by prescription, tell your pharmacist you do not want a generic brand, only name brand.

If you get a 90. Day supply most of the pills do not make you sleep

Torrent will not hurt you but they will not help sleep most of pills has no medication in them and Torrent needs taken off market for their fraud pills

Has anyone tried Hemofarm 10mg zolpidem? They're useless weak pills in my opinion, but Zoltrate zolpidem 10mg long white pills gave me brilliant sleep. I was out in a few minutes... only one thing though, they tasted like boiled eggs.

While the medication itself will be the same, the amount of the drug can differ by as much as 20% per a report on 60 Minutes & the binders & fillers used could be VASTLY different.

If you prefer to stay with the Mylan brand then you will need to either ask CVS if you can & if they cannot accommodate you, transfer your medication to another pharmacy. I suggest calling around to see which pharmacy will work with you on this.
I know RiteAid is very good about this, you might try them.

I am happy to hear that CVS is selling the peach colored generic Ambien manufactured by Torrent. I have tried the big white generic pill and it does not work for me. The peach colored ones are much better for me.
