I have heard of quite a few people having issues getting a pharmacist to order them, but they seemed to be buying from random places not the same pharmacy each time. I think its a bit of paranoia thinking people are asking to order them & then arranging to break in, thats what my pharmacist suggested when i asked her what she thought. Hopefully the people who genuinely need this medication are receiving it now, & cross fingers the junkies dont ruin the whole thing when they find out about the generics. Sandy I hope your on the right path now & will have no problem when your normal pharmacist returns. One thing id like to say is yes, you do build up a tolerence for these meds & would go through withdrawal if stopping all at once but that is not necessarily an addiction, if you have an addiction you may need different help with your pain management. Theres a difference between wanting to be pain free & wanting to feel the effects of being high.... I dont feel a euphoria from these at all & only really felt any effects at the very beginning of taking them, which my pain specialist explained to me that having the amount of pain i have all the tablets do is dull this not make me high. Ive never understood why addicts want these drugs so much.

Drewy if your in Australia, yes the Sandoz generic is the original formula. If you read the posts on this page from Jay, Myself & Dox they should answer any questions you have theres a whole heap Of posts. As for where to get them, any pharmacy can order them in for you.... but some people have said their chemist's not wanting to stock them. Though if you go to a regular chemist all the time, you should not have an issue. Your script for Oxycontin just needs the box -'no brand substitutes' left unchecked. That will allow you to get the Sandoz brand of original formula. Hope that helps you. This is only in Aust, the US are not allowing generics of original oxycontin formula at all, & i dont know re other countries. Cheers

Hi guys.....I hope I didn't led you to believe that I am a drug addict and just after the buzz that these tablets may give some people. I meant, by my statement, 'Of course I have an addiction, they are addictive' because they are addictive I am addicted because I have to take them everyday for pain, that's all.

I know what it is like not to have them and the first thing I notice is the pain, the withdrawal effects are secondary to the burning, stabbing, electrical piercing pain down my legs is unbearable at times. I cannot move off the bed and going to the toilet is sometimes embarrassing as I often don't make it in time. I could cope on the old formula but I am only half way there on the new formula.

I have never used them in a way they are not meant to be taken, I could not do that to myself and have no idea as to how you would go about it and have no intention in finding out.....I just want them to work properly, like they used to. I don't want to be sick and anxious, I am to young to be like that. I to hope that drug addicts (so to speak) that do not need these products to ruin life for people like yourself Michelle. Today is Monday so I will call my pharmacy to make sure there is no problem with the ordering of the Sandoz brand....fingers crossed.

Dox I am in NSW the Mid North Coast. I understand the paranoid behavior from the pharmacists, not wishing to have this medication stocked in their safes because there is a lot of break ins to steal these drugs, but I don't think that was this pharmacists issue, I think he just didn't know if he was aloud to pre order.

Anyhow I will find out what has happened sometime today...I am having phone trouble at the moment because I live in the country and reception is bad at the best of times but for some reason I have no reception at all I am heading to the shops to use the phone box.. Yes Drewy the generic oxycodone modified release are the OG old original formula of oxycontin. They are brilliant. They are the original formula. I can vouch for that. I know for a fact they are! The mundipharma brand name abuse proof OxyContin reformulated suck. They have way to many side effects and no pain relief.

Hi Sandy, I so sorry you couldn't get them ordered (this is why I suggested ordering ahead of time) if it had been your usual pharmacist you wouldn't have had this problem, so as you say if he does not do the order, go elsewhere. There really should not be any problem if the doctor has written the script, it is the pharmacists job to fill it, not to make judgements. You could have gone back to your doctor and got him to ring the pharmacist then he would have had to order them in for you. I am glad you only got a few of the reformulation so you can get the rest as the Sandoz generic. I encourage you to not be disheartened and to press on until you get the script you need. I am glad we have helped, we all help each other!
As for addiction, yes we are 'addicted' but as Michelle said, it's not the same. The correct terminology is 'physically dependent and tolerant' which is what happens to anyone taking narcotics for any time more than a few days. No one knows how scary it is to be on this medication, to be judged and assessed constantly and have to defend being in pain and needing pain relief. We have a right to pain relief as a diabetic has a right to insulin.
Once you get on the right meds, you will feel so much better. Keep your chin up and let us know how you get on.

They are 100% the old original formula that's a fact they are policed highly because of that reason I had to swap to MS Contin from them OxyContin reformulated until the generic came out its terrible stuff not good at all' to many side effects and no pain relief from them! I can assure you the Sandoz are the original ones they are awesome so glad to have my life back in order again soon. I will be starting testosterone soon :)

Yes Drewy 100% we have been getting them since around October last year. The slow release or modified release is the same thing. Its just called different names by the different companies. Sandoz Oxycodone Modified Release - are the original Oxycontin Slow Release, no more stomach cramps, uncontrolled pain & all the other problems of Oxycontin OP-which are made from a pharmaceutical silicone! The chemicals used to make them are dangerous & cause all sorts of side effects from cramps & headaches to anxiety & pain increase.....especially when they dont fully metabolise in everyones system leaving you undermedicated & in more pain. Most people are probably genuine but ive seen posts from addicts with instructions on messing with the Oxycontin OP so they can abuse it. Hi guys. I hope you are all well and the world is treating you well.
I picked up my first two boxes of the Sandoz brand oxycodone finally. One week after the prescription was written. Since Monday the computer system that everything, including the ordering of medications, has been unavailable at my pharmacy but it recovered yesterday from whatever virus it had and my lovely normal pharmasist was able to send my order through and I picked it up this morning. Yay!!!!!
I've had my first afternoon one and I feel good. I had one of the Mundipharma ones this morning and I'm due to take another one later this afternoon. Tomorrow will be the first full day of the Sandoz brands.
I'm normally blurry eyed by this time in the afternoon but that has not happening which I've just noticed will typing this post, I wonder if the Mundipharma tabs where doing that to me, causing that as a side effect to whatever they bound the morphine in. I know you mentioned the chemicals before Michelle so I am going to google them and see what it says. Who knows what that stuff can do to you. I mean if I wanted to eat plastic I would of just chewed on some glad wrap.
I was thinking today, I believe that Mundipharma have a lot to answer to, they changed their formula, without giving an advanced warning, and it's made people sick. I mean they could of caused some real damage to people.
I will jump back on here guys and tell you how I'm feeling in a couple of days.

Hey Sandy, thats awesome mate! Glad you have had success & i hope it provides relief. I think Mundipharma definately have a lot to answer for, this whole thing was a cover made possible by media & addicts in kind.... All the bad press about oxycontin being the most abused drug, i really find it strange that other narcotic meds are not abused just as much. My thoughts go to Mundipharma or Perdue as it is known in the US....all of the media started around the time Purdues patent on this ran out in the US. It was 3 yrs before they brought in the Oxy OP in Australia.... & guess what? it happened the month before the Aus patent ran out..... All very Suspect to me, & all about greed & those companies having the sole market with no competition from generics. Sandy, the one thing that makes us very lucky, is the Aus government didnt cave to Mundipharmas pressure to ban any generic of original formula! In the US theres no generics allowed only the new formula of Purdues new patent....once again they have no competition. I love Australia! cheers & happy easter everyone.

It's acurrate information by your own admission If the pill is visable in your fecal matter Clearly its not getting absorbed. I actually took it from my own Gross I know, however I had to know. I thought I might be dying because I lost so much weight. Fact it was mushy at first Slimy even But by the time i had brought to my Pharmacist it was hard as a rock. Still the pharmacist was skeptical. Digging deeper I learned how come it won't metabolize BHT The poster who has worries of getting cancer from Oxy no but BHT. I agree ingesting polymonimers can't be toxic
